   It’s my first time in Toronto and I had a pleasant experience at Kinka Izakaya. The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and the ambience was wonderful. Will definitely recommend this to all my colleagues!

   Bit noisy for us, but we’re older and I’m sure this modern restaurant is absolutely normal for younger generations that were the predominant crowd. Food was very fresh and tasty and a great place for a birthday. The staff have big energy!

   Very tasty best to go with at least 4 people to taste a few of the tapas style Japanese dishes

   From the moment we walked in we knew we found a place we would return to. Staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming. Food was served quickly and was delicious.

   Overall a great experience. Food was delicious, sake was served warm and at a good temperature. Only gripe is the seats, where they are quite heavy and make a terrible scratching noise if you slightly drag them over the tile floors. Also, there are tables located near an emergency exit, the seats there are colder as there’s a slight draft from the emergency exit door.

   While I normally enjoy Kinka, this time we showed up for our reservation at 9pm and were essentially told that we had to vacate our table as a larger reservation had shown up about 45 minutes later. Seemed a little... atypical for an izakaya experience, but I assume as a group of 4 we were not going to be given seating priority over a large group of 8+. I understand the business perspective, but we were just handed the late-night menu and were discussing our next round when we were told that it was last call and that we had to go. We weren't given an option of moving to a different table (we were already outside, on the side patio), or even counter seats. As we were entertaining a friend from out of town, it wasn't a great way for the night to go. For the time that we were there, the food and drink were good. This is not a criticism of their food/atmosphere. A bit of an unfortunate experience, but I hope this was the exception and not the rule.

    Bloor St location is closed. Church St is still great, plus the food and drinks. Service was lovely and accommodating however there was less enthusiasm with birthday singing and sake bomb chants (1 server), felt awkward.
