Dishes at Kintan represent a combination of authentic Japanese cuisine and contemporary take on local ingredients. "
We went to Kintan for a birthday meal . It had been recommended by my Son and his girlfriend. We were able to enjoy a leisurely meal, which took 2 hours but were able to relax and was easy to digest. We liked the fact that we could cook the food ourselves. We chose the family menu and a few extras. There appeared a lot of food but it was the right amount for three adults.
I needed to change my booking time to an earlier slot and in doing so, caused a little confusion, as I had originally booked with Open Table and the called the restaurant to change. I had forgotten to cancel original time at open table.
Also our trainee waitress took our bottle of wine away before we had finished it, but we got t back in the form of a new small bottle. And we were given spinach instead of mushrooms we ordered, but recieved the correct vegetable after calling the waitress.
The toilets in the ladies room were a bit broken and there had been a water leak in one of them.
Overall a lovely restaurant and food
Truly authentic and enjoyable. Great place to eat and talk with friends. Although the heat and noise is high, it just makes it great because no one can listen in on your conversations.
I'll be sure to go back it was a great dining experience and the food was amazing .
Everything was perfect except the hostess at the entrance who was very cold and unpleasant. Fortunately the rest of the staff was charming.
The whole experience was perfect from the beginning to the end. I will definitely be combing back with friends. Great service as well !!
We had lunch on 28th and it was everything delicious. The waitress Ana was super nice with us and made us feel very comfortable.
The only thing it made me feel less comfortable was the air conditioning, quite strong if you are not sitting on the coach side. The rest was perfect and delicious. We will be back and we are recommending already to our friends
Excellent. Really enjoyed everything about this place.
Always my fav
Great food and at a great price as we came during the happy hour
Great experience, great food very central and easy to get to location.
Absolutely loved the food. Especially all the beef items and sausage. Highly recommend to order garlic butter Dominican and butter corn along with kimchi and rice.
Super convenient after a shopping trip and a fun way to eat - our second visit and it won't be our last. Service was a bit slow, like last time. Upstairs bar/waiting area could be improved - we were not offered drinks during the wait for our (booked) table and it feels like you're sitting in a cloakroom - zero ambience there. Downstairs is great though, a real buzz!
Really impressed with service and food in fact we’ve decided to hold our regular catch ups there it was so good everyone in the group enjoyed it. Thanks
Food-wise everything was great. However on the day we were there the fire alarm must have gone off at least 4 times in the space of 1 hour which was quite poor from the restaurant, for a BBQ place they should really have measures in place that prevents this sort of thing from happening.
Never had this issue at the Holborn one.
The food is greeeeeeeat!
A great restaurant with amazing food at reasonable prices. The takoyaki is a must!
Short of staff at the entrance so you are normally made to wait to get seated even if you have a reservation. Sometimes you are made to wait for very long time...
Great experience! Great value! Can’t wait to go back!
30th birthday meal. Was very nice but not as special as I had hoped for a 30th
The premium beef cuts were especially amazing! I would also recommend their toro beef and yakishabu. However their beef tongue was not the best, a little too thick for my liking. They give a good amount for the price, definitely worth checking out.
Food, great
Value for money great
Little buzzer to ask for assistance instead of trying to make eye contact with waiting staff, great
Little private room with 2 tables, awesome!
Only down point was how loud the music was, we almost had to shout
Excellent food, nice restaurant with good service. The restaurant was good for kids, even our infant. However, the restaurant lacked diaper changing boards in the toilets. We were given the option of going to "a closet" (!!!) so we unfortunately had to change our baby's diaper at the table on the booth seats.
Fun social place to eat with great food. Good for groups.
Great experience! Took time to make my partner’s birthday special
Go try the food, you won't regret it!
The venue needs a better ventilation. Our coats and hair was so stinky after we left. The see food that we cooked was fantastic, while the beef tongue was very chewy (used to grilled tongue melting in your mouth).
We were seated at a nice large booth. The food was very nice. We ordered:
Spicy Salmon Volcano
Spicy Tofu
Shishito
Kintan Salad
hostile waiter at the front desk
quality of food is nice. the same as in Tokyo. enjoyed genuine YAKINIKU.
Service is usually poor and haphazard. However, if you want authentic Japanese bbq this is the only place in the UK. Me and my Japanese wife always go here when we visit London and besides the service are never disappointed. Go and enjoy....
1st time to this location. Frequently visit the Holborn location.
Same amazing food, only “complaint” are the grills aren’t as hot/quick as Holborn, however he difference is minimal.
But then again, if you’re there for leisure and have the time to spare, it’s perfect!
My favourite place to eat (this and the Holborn location). A bit pricey but fantastic... especially with a carafe of warm sake!
excellent food and service
Some of the worst service Ive seen in a restaurant in London. They were clearly understaffed as we constantly had to look for the waiter to ask for help or get drinks. It took us 4 times of asking to get the bill. Not great.
Once we were seated the service was great. One of our bbq’s initially was taking a very long time to cook food but then one of the staff members fixed it up quickly.
Food was delicious and the happy hour is definitely great value!
It’s a little expensive considering you cook your own food! But it tastes sooooo good and it’s fun to bbq it yourself.
As a table of two we were on a little booth that had one side which was fine except we were facing the wall so it felt a bit odd.
Service is quite neutral but quick. We ordered a side that we never got (although we didn’t chase because we didn’t need it - we got the set menu for 2 and it was a perfect amount). It was still on the bill and they happily took it off for us
Amazing Food, Wonderful Staff - Went To Celebrate My Boyfriend's Birthday And The Staff Went Above And Beyond For Us ♥️ Couldn't Have Asked For A More Amazing Experience ♥️♥️♥️ Cannot Wait To Dine With Them Again !! 😁
Venue is lovely and food is great, however would be nice to get more meat for what we pay for!
Very average food, a bit dirty grills
The food was absolutely delicious, everything was very well seasoned. The miso duck breast stood out for me and the whole experience is quite fun. Will definitely be going back!
