I went to the restaurant yesterday, to celebrate my birthday. The food was great but the Place If itself was very noisy, and laud. We had no special treatment for the birthday and I couldn’t have the cake there since it was crazy busy. I wouldn’t recommend this Place for special occasions at all, because there’s no privacy. We also asked another glass of wine for the celebration and they just refill the one we already had. I’m glad the food was delicious otherwise I wouldn’t even consider the restaurant again in the future.

If you want really fresh food in an authentic Japanese restaurant then Kingyo Izakaya is the place to go. Close to the waterfront, but out of the tourist area. Friendly staff and REALLY good food.

we went to try their lunch classic bent box. there are choices for their rice and main and i chose the cod and sashimi rice bowl the presentation was so good and pretty. the vareity of the sides were great. I enjoyed the cod the most. normally i dont prefer creamy sauce of my seafood due to personal preference but surprisingly the cream sauce is not overwhelming and i did enjoy it a lot. the sashimi on the rice was very fresh. although the wait time for the food was a bit long but the service was very polite and attentive which definitely balanced out the long wait time for the food. it is definitely a good deal with the quality and price!

Went there for a birthday lunch to celebrate a birthday - food was very good, service was decent - had to flag servers down a few times. What was annoying is that they offer you a birthday dessert for free but got charged for it on the receipt. Tried explaining it to the waitress but they didn’t understand it. Shouldnt offer it if your staff doesn’t know.

As always, an excellent taste experience with wonderful flavours, and friendly service! Everything we fly into Vancouver from New Zealand, our first good stop is Kingyo and it never disappoints! Thank you!

Was excited to try the special bento set and it didn’t disappoint! Look at the variety that was served! I am so glad that I visited Kingyo during my trip to Vancouver!

Super yummy foods! Meats and fish were very well cooked, served. Drinks were ok. But service was great and nice ambience. Prices weren’t bad for how much we ordered.

We ordered the Hell Chicken, the Green Salad, Tomato Kimchi, Wagyu and Toro bowl, and my daughter had the pork katsu. The Hell Chicken and Wagyu and Toro bowl were just okay, the salad, kimchi tomatoes and the katsu were all good. Cute spot and a nice lunch.
