Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse
Kingsleys Australian Steakhouse turned 20 this year so we look forward to celebrating our 20th birthday with you soon.
Family gathering. Everyone were so impressed with everything. We are still talking about it.
service wasn`t very welcoming. I requested medium well and they brought me my sirloin completely overcooked and chips were soggy and . Maybe I went to the restaurant expecting more after so many comments from friends. I`m not impressed at all.
Decent steak restaurant but perhaps too touristy for locals.
The steaks were very good. The wait staff was unorganized, unlike the high end steak houses in NYC that we are used to. No one checked on us to see if we wanted anything else. They didn't even pour more wine into our glasses. We were splurging for a birthday dinner for my son's 21st birthday. We weren't treated special and were so disappointed when your salads came out at the same time as our steaks. Our waiter apologized for the mistake.
The steak quality was superb.
Thanks to Nice and friendly Manager.
Steaks are a must at this place. A bit pricy, but worth every dollar spent. Good variety of wines on the menu.
Booked for partners birthday, very pleasant meal with attentive staff. Staff were easily forthcoming with recommendations and suggestions based on our parameters and requirements.
We are “steak snobs”! We ordered the 1000 gm porterhouse steak. It was cooked perfectly and we (2 people) had leftovers. Great steak, thick with minimum seasoning. It came to our table whole, not carved or on a sizzling platter, but that could be the way the Aussies serve it. We liked the potatoes. The mushrooms were bland with little taste, and the wine pours were scant. Overall, the service was fine and if you would like a good steak I would recommend Kingsley’s. The atmosphere is perfect for a steakhouse.
Good steak, well treated and prepared. I asked for it rare and it came out rare; not medium rare or blue. Not all steak restaurants get that right! The tomato salad was pretty fabulous; the citrus dressing nicely zingy and sour rather than sweet (exactly what I was looking for) and wonderfully salty feta. Slightly too much for me to finish, the whole salad, but I tried pretty hard and almost cleaned the bowl.
This was my first trip to Sydney and Australia, so my main purpose was to try some kangaroo, as it had been highly recommended. I was not disappointed. This restaurant knows how to prepare meat. The peppered kangaroo (farmed, not wild) was delicious and perfectly done, as were all the meals. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu is varied, so if not in the mood for kangaroo, there are numerous other options.
My only suggestion, was that the wine list could be more varied, maybe with some Italian or Spanish wines, and more South African ones (pinotage??).
The restaurant is in a lovely, stone building, with a rustic but updated interior. It is off a small courtyard, so it is not easily visible from the street at first glance.
Definitely would eat here again....!! Great job by all!
Couldn’t have been happier, it was a relaxed and unpretentious dining experience.
I was very impressed with the set out. It had a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere which is perfect for a business lunch. The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The food was lovely and in generous portions as well. We had a very productive business meeting which I believe was enhanced by our restaurant experience.
It was terrible. Our friends 60th birthday. Dark table in the back upstairs, the starters were wrong. I asked for another table light. The waitress gave me a torch. When she went I took another table light off the next table but when she came back she took it away again. The waitress put my friends dirty knife and fork back down after the starters. I had to ask her to bring clean cutlery. I don't know your standard policy on hygiene ? Could not have been more disappointed. We would happily have spent twice as much if the table and service were better. Maybe we just came on a bad night but have certainly told our friends how completely awful it was and never to go there. Shame as my friend will not be 60 again. We should have gone somewhere nice. We just chose the wrong restaurant. He really likes steak so we thought Kingsleys would be a good option. You do have a good reputation but we could not work out why. Are you due to close down or something ?
