Don’t bother! The food took over an hour to get then one fish dish didn’t arrive and the other fish dish was over cooked! The meat entrees were not worth the price! Additionally, the men’s bathroom was disgusting according to the men in the group! Then we received no compensation for the wait! This place won’t be there long with the bad service and food!
Wonderful steakhouse! Best steak we have ever had! Will definitely go back
Great filet!! Great nightly specials! Worth the trip of going and waiting!!!!!!!
Excellent as always. Server was very friendly and kept us happy.
Excellent food for a great value.
King's had amazing service along with food and great atmosphere. I have already recommended to to a few and plan on telling more. Thank you, King's!
Food, staff, drinks, & venue... it all was awesome!!!!!!💯💯
This was our first time trying King's and, overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant was fairly crowded during dinner on a Saturday night and it seemed that the kitchen may have been a bit overwhelmed with a few large groups (including ours). It took quite a while for our main courses to arrive, but our server was very friendly and attentive during our wait. The food was very good, though, which made the delay less bothersome. Most at our table ordered steaks and they were all flavorful and prepared perfectly. I would try again and recommend to others who are okay with a leisurely pace.
We had a large group on a Friday night. Service was pleasant and food was good; however, it took a very long time to get our meal (over 1 1/2 hours). They staff did not seem concerned about it either and the restaurant was not overly packed.
Surprisingly poor food all around including soggy Brussels sprouts, lackluster Mac & Cheese, and steak that was relatively flavorless and potentially not the cut ordered. Don't forget the cubed cheese from your local grocer that made it onto the cheese board. While the service was kind, friendly, and timely, the food did not live up to the hype, price, nor establishment.
I would not eat a ribeye there ever again probably the poorest quality of steak I have ever eaten
Great food atmosphere and prices. You will love it
Food was good. Service was good. A little slow with drinks.
We eat here often the prices have gone down. The food is excellent. Quick and easy acces
Love the amazing oysters!!!
Loved the restaurant, bar and mom and pop aspect of the place. Very old school which I love. Server comped a glass of wine cause he felt we waited too long for the check which was not the case at all. If back in Oxford will definitely go back.
Off night maybe? Great before. Waitress very very slow, forgetting things. She seemed extremely rushed! Chicken Fettuccine tasted very strang, chicken in it was cold, almost frozen. Ribeye mostly all fat. No coffee, had to wait for some to be made. Oysters NOLA...not good. Should have stuck with the Oysters on the Half Shell. Everyone seemed rushed!
The steak. The filet and ribeye. We’re the best steaks my husband and I have ever had in our life ! I am still dreaming how great it tasted. It was so tender s d juicy. Cooked to perfection !! Well worth it for big cuts of steaks!
A great place to eat be it casual or special event. It can be quiet or festive all in one place. It’s my place now
The food is fabulous! I had the mahi mahi and it was probably the best I have ever tasted . Delicious !! My husband had the filet and the flavor was out of this world!!! Great food and great service!!!
A couple of the steaks had a lot of gristle, fat in them. That was disappointing. Had to ask twice for a glass of wine. Brussels sprouts were mushy, didn’t taste good.
Our waitress was the sweetest, however, I don't know if she had lots of other tables, but she would disappear for long periods of time. We would run out of drink. It also took an hour to get our food. Maybe it was the large group, but since we had reservations, they should have been able to accommodate us! Our monthly group will not return. Reservations for 6:30, left the restaurant at 9:15!
We made our reservation via OT. It was just right.
Our server was excellent.. went over the specials and menu items as needed.
The Ribeye I had was delicious and my wife’s Filet was perfect.
Yes I would go back. It was a lot better than fighting the Square traffic even though we Ubered there.
When I was a student in the 70’s the place was called Mistellis.. it was the only place open ( unless you call Kiamies a restaurant)
On a Sunday for hangover food!
Great Service and food.
Great environment. Been plenty of times but not with kids. Both kids under 2, GREAT waitress, that was very accommodating to a Gluten allergy also. Loved it! Steaks were great as well!
One of the best steaks I've had in years. Service was great!! It wasn't too expensive either. I would definitely go back!
Just so you know, I had the grilled fish with lemon over wild rice. The overall flavor was nice but It was very salty and I'm not that sensitive to salt. I'm sure if I had said something, the chef would have corrected.
Adam went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were well taken care of! The food is amazing! Highly recommend the Red fish and Brussels sprouts!! Great place, great staff, great food, great drinks! A true hidden gem in Oxford!!
Food was not hot when delivered
Ordered the king filet medium rare. They gave me a sirloin. I told them, they said no it’s a filet that’s been butterflied. I said I eat filets all the time this is not a filet. I just told them to forget it. Three others at our table ordered medium rare steaks. All we over cooked
First, the steaks were as advertised - healthy proportions, well-cooked and very tasty. In fact, all of our food was very good. My son and I went there as part of a road trip to a South Carolina game at Ole Miss. The issue was the lack of service. I know it was a game weekend but this place has been open long enough to know the crowd that's going to generate. We spent much of the meal with nothing to drink - water or otherwise - because the server disappeared for long periods of time. I finally got my second drink (a glass of red) when I had about two bites of steak left. When our steaks were served, I asked for some Heinz 57 sauce. That never showed up. After our check was dropped off, we waited for 15 minutes for the server to come pick up my credit card. I finally gave up and just left cash. I'm not blaming our server - she seemed experienced and I think she wanted to do a good job. I blame the restaurant for not being properly staffed on a busy night. If you're planning to go, I'd recommend that you look for a time when you know Oxford isn't slammed to the gills. A weekend when there were 12,000 South Carolina fans in town was not the time to go to King's.
It took us over 2 hours to get our food. The waitress had way too many tables so service was not great. Had to ask multiple time for drinks, etc. We have eaten here several time and this was by far the worst. Do not plan to go back.
Best steak I have had in a long time. I highly recommended it.
Nothing was awful, just did not live up to the advance billing. Our service was average at best, and my friends requested Medium Rare Filet came out more Well Done. The cheese grits as a “signature” side were kind of blah!!
Food was delicious! Service was slow, but we were there on a game weekend.
I read reviews about bad service and we witnessed it first hand. the table next to us received their appetizers and drinks, but after a 2 hour wait the waitress never took their dinner order. they left. Our service was extremely SLOW. The food however was good. just don't understand how a restaurant that has been in business as long as they have, still can't work out the service issue
On a visit to Oxford for the Ole Miss - Auburn game we made reservations at King's. It's away from the square which was perfect on a busy football weekend. The restaurant had a great vibe! Lot's of alumni gathering and enjoying old friendships. The food was great and reasonably priced. Rib-eye was cooked as ordered and tasty. Enjoyed the Delta Tamales and The Grove Dip too. I will put it on my list for dining next time I'm in the area.
To be fair, we were a large group of 14 but we had a prior reservation. Waited for over 2.5 hours and still couldn’t get our meal served to us. Server was in the back in a puddle of tears. Bar couldn’t get any drinks out to us. Another table got up and left too and they had been there 1.5 hours and couldn’t get any food. The appetizers that were served , crab claws (super small), dip that barely covered the bottom of the bowl, and cheese and sausage plate were disappointing. Bill was still wrong. Even after complaining 1.5 hours in, the management, at 2.5 hours in, said it was going to be another 15 minutes. That’s when we left. The bill was still wrong.
Its a great place, my first time there. Even after some negative reviews i still wanted to try it.
We have eaten at Kings many times when in town and referred lots of friends. However, we did not have a good experience on our recent visit. It started with a used butter container in our bread basket. Salads did not arrive before entrees. One steak ordered med rare was well done and another ordered med was rare. Not sure what is going on but hope you can figure it out.
