Kings Dining & Entertainment - Burlington
Took my niece for late lunch and bowling. Had a blast
Do not fo there if you expect to bowl after eating dinner as we waited twoafter eating and still were unable to get a lane
We were told they were under staffed.
Poor service - poor food quality - overpriced. Bowling lanes did not work. Very disappointing. Won't be back.
Have been to Kings three times. All three times the food was great. Plenty of variety and great items to share as a table. In addition to traditional bar food, they have pretty good takes on things like pork belly, tuna poke, etc to make it interesting. Assortment of drinks is also solid with plenty of options whether beer, wine or spirits are your libation of choice. That said, there is an issue..and its a big one.
First time, we came as walk-ins and even though we were on the wait list for bowling, after two hours (which included a leisurely dinner), we decided we'd waited long enough. The second time, we made reservations and even though we got to bowl, it took a while. Third time was this part weekend and even with a reservation a leisurely 60 minute dinner, and 30 minutes for desert, the closest we got to bowling was "you're after the next party...maybe 30 minutes". I understand they had a few large groups and that 3 of their lanes were broken but overall, if you are going to take reservations, you should at least inform people before sitting down that there may be an excessive wait. The manager did comp us for some of our check and offer to make it up to us next time but if you have your heart set on dinner & bowling, you may want to ask some very pointed questions before sitting down.
Hi, I had spoken to someone there requesting a low table and quiet area for a special occasion. They said that will be fine and she was working last Saturday night. However, when we got there (on time) they gave us a high table in the noisiest area.
We did the dining and bowling. Completed a great dinner and the lanes were ready for us. Great timing.
We had 9 people at our table and the service was poor. We waited at least 20 minutes if not more for the first round of drinks and didn't see the waitress after the food was delivered. We also had signed up for the bowling after but despite a 2.5 hour meal we still had to wait for one lane. They said we could have two lanes but wouldn't recommend it because it was going to take quite a bit of time. By the time we actually got to the lane it was almost 10pm.
The food and service was good, but the lane we were bowling on kept malfunctioning.
Overall I would recommend Kings but this particular visit was no as good. From the start at dinner, we felt very rushed to order. Our server wasn’t around at all until after we got food. We were still eating and she dropped off the check...again feeling rushed. She didn’t know our lane for bowling and checked. She said 4 but someone was already playing there. We needed to go to the desk and explain. They said oh you’re at 5. Got our shoes on as well as kids shoes and bumpers wouldn’t work which we requested. Then someone said bumpers don’t work on this one (as if we were supposed to know that). We eventually moved to 11 and that waitress was nice Andre ordered an ice cream for our daughter’s birthday. Again we like it at Kings but this night was just not fun.
My fiance and I went there with a reservation for a table and bowling. We got there and they showed us to our table. For 20 minutes NOBODY said hello. We finally were greeted and got drinks. We ordered and our meal came. My meal was completely wrong (I ordered a salad and it came as a wrap) and my fiance was missing her fries. They took my meal back to make it right but left my fiance's meal on the table to get cold. After about 10 minutes my meal came and my fiance was already done. We were then told that we were waiting on lane 11 and to give them a few minutes to get it ready. I asked that if we went to the restroom, could we then go to the lane. We were told yes. We went to the lane (which was open) and then were kicked out because another large party had rented that lane. Lots of confusion but there was that one employee who recognized what had happened and stepped in to rectify it and it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I forget her name but she was a Manager on 03/16/2019 at night and she took charge, making all the past mistakes seem forgotten. I can tell you....I run a business and mistakes/bad employees will happen...it is when that one employee comes over, validates what happen and how you're feeling and make things right. It was the worst experience of our entire dating career but this Manager made me coming back a real possibility. Wish I could remember her name.
I would definitely recommend Kings. We went here for my sister's 18th birthday and had a blast. My ONLY complaint was that the service was a bit slow but I think this was more because the waitress was waiting on a lane for us. SO much fun!
Super fun afternoon with great service! We will be back!
We waited far too long for our food and had booked the Dine then Bowl but it was over an hour after we had finished eating that our lanes were still not ready
Overall had a wonderful time. Had dinner at the bar before bowling and we were taken care of by Tony C who’s just a wonderful gentleman. The wait for bowling was a little excruciating being that it was 3.5 hours but dinner and drinks at the bar made the time fly. Overall great time.
This was our third time doing this. It is like a ladies bowling out. We dine first and then bowl. For all three times, there were about 15-16 people. Typically we had 12 people dine and the rest joined us later. We always needed two lanes so this worked out fine. I wish we could book the lanes ahead of time but I also understand that is not an easy thing. One challenge that I have is collecting the payments. Kings doesn’t split the dining and bowling charges so I collect from my friends and pay it all. I wish Kings accommodate for this. It would make it much easier for me as I really don’t want to deal with it. Maybe there is a way to do it and if so I would love to learn about it. I like the food and the ambiance and appreciate it that they are flexible to accommodate for such a large group.
We normally enjoy Kings, but our past visit was the exception. It seemed as if they were severely understaffed, as everything - from someone taking our order, to getting food, and trying to order drinks while bowling - took a REALLY long time. The food was of the same quality as we expected (although parts of our order were wrong) and our server was lovely. The problem seemed to be that she was the only person covering multiple tables. And it was nearly impossible to get any service while bowling. The server assigned to us did her best, but with multiple large groups and no one else to help, it was almost impossible.
Bowling itself is to expensive, food was well priced though
Be careful when you choose the Dine then Bowl option on Open Table, as management does not recognize it as an option,. It took a lengthy discussion with the manager, and him all but calling us liars before he RELUCTANTLY gave us the lane we had reserved after our meal at Kings.
Everything was OK, just wish we had known the lane would be in a small room, separate from the rest of the lanes. Room was too small for more than 2 groups.
Our service was great at the dining area. However, I ordered a water once we got to the bowling and the server didn’t bring it until we finished our second game when we taking our shoes off. I noticed the last couple times where we didn’t order food or alcoholic drinks at the bowling area, the service was poor.
This place is lots of fun. The dining experience was fantastic. We loved our waitress. She was excellent. She went out of her way for us and my step son loved her! I wish I got her name. Prices were also reasonable. Food was on par for pub food. The bowling experience was fun. Over fast and cost a fortune! We only bowled 1 game and it cost $40 and another $26 for shoe rental!! Had no idea. There was 5 of us. We ordered some desserts, they were delicious. We didn’t get to make it play pool but it looked fun and the video games were a nice add. Overall it was a great time but plan to drop some cash. For a family of 5 for about 4 hours of fun and eating. About $250 night!!
Our family had a fun night out with the dinner/bowling reservation. Service was very slow. It took three passes to get a copy of the kids menu, drinks weren't brought out until after food, and they didn't realize we had a bowling reservation. The kids had a blast but I wish service was attentive.
I came Saturday with a girlfriend and our daughters. Our daughters each ordered the 6 boneless “wings” for $6.99. What arrived was a tiny plate of tiny little “bites.” When I asked our server why these were not full boneless wings, she told us that we ordered “bites” and not wings. There are no “bites” on the menu, just wings with bone, or boneless wings. Now, I’m a chicken wing enthusiast and these little “ bites” were not even a third of the size of a boneless wing. They should be ashamed to charge $7.
My friend and I each ordered a cauliflower pizza crust pizza. While the crust was ok, the sauce was sweet and the toppings were not fresh. I was starving so the pizza filled me up, but I can’t say I enjoyed it. I like bowling at Kings, but if I come again I’ll either eat at home before or make a lane reservation and eat at any other venue in the area. The food is expensive, the food not good or fresh and the servings are very small.
Annie was our server and she was THE BEST!!! She was attentive, friendly, made great recommendations for food and drinks, and even noticed a creepy guy lurking behind our table of 3 ladies and came to our rescue!
The food was good for a bowling alley. However it was very pricey. 4 people and only 6 alcoholic drinks and our bill was $189.00 + tip. Also we were told to eat first and they would put you to the top of the waitlist. At 8:50 we were told it was going to be approximately 40 minutes. We would have preferred to bowl first!
Everything was great except for the medetoxhicken that 2 of the 4 of us ordered. It was suppose to be chicken breast but rather tough chicken. Management did come over and entrees were taken off our bill but the experience still occurred.
Bowling was fun and attentive wait staff.
The food was not great. The pricing does not equal the quality or presentation. The service was lacking. The boneless wings are more like half a nugget, and they were clearly frozen product. We were supposed to do dine and bowl but had to wait even longer for a lane because it was never set up for us.
Food and Bar never disappoint and all the servers we’ve had have been great. Only “knock” is that when you split the bill, they show full recommended tip on both checks. Need a careful eye or a good head for math or you might overpay.
I was there Wednesday night, the service and food was so good that I came back the next night. Jen made my experience one to remember
Disorganized check in process
Extremely long wait for our bowling even though we were assured it would be a short wait after our dinner
The service was just okay for dinner. The food runner had no voice and appeared sick. She should have stayed home. One of us didn't get his meal and when it came it was 20 min after everyone elses and it was the wrong sandwich. They did comp the meal which was good and the server was attentive but we wished that didn't happen. The bowling service was amazing and the bowling was great too.
Food took forever to come out it wasn’t that busy when we finally got our food it was cold. Our table had no light over it, was super dark and not inviting. When we bowled we had to continuously reset our lane every-time the pins came out it was 1 pin or 3 pins, took a good 20 minutes to get resolved after telling the front desk. Overall was super disappointed in my visit to King’s.
Took my friend for her birthday. Katie was our server and she was very attentive and pleasant. We both had Cesar Salads, one with Steak Tips and one with Shrimp. The food was very good, although the Shrimp was a bit spicy.
Food was mediocre, not expensive, servers were good.
The experience was great. We were seated right away. Have a great waitress who was very energetic. Before our dessert came we were told our bowling lane was ready for us and that they would deliver our dessert to the bowling lane. We got to the bowling lane and our shoes were there and we had another great waitress during our bowling. It was so seamless and just a great experience.
I went here for a girls night out & made a reservation at over the phone to bowl at 7:45pm. We had to order meals per person in order to meet the criteria to have a bowling reservation. Once seated we ordered food and drinks right away so our waitress would fill it out and hand it to the front desk but she never grabbed our ticket after we explained we really wanted to get our ticket in ASAP. I went up to the front desk myself and asked what to do since the directions were unclear. The nice employee at the front said he’d come get our ticket for us. We enjoyed our drinks (meals are gross but that was expected) while intisipating our wait. A hour goes by and we ask for the check and when our turn to bowl will be. Our waitress said we’re still on the waitlist which is ridiculous. I go back to the front desk and ask myself. The girl said there’s a wait but the buzzer will go off once a lane opens. WE WERE NEVER GIVEN A BUZZER! I was so confused and annoyed. Our waitress was zero help, given, she was extremely busy and I understand how that is, being in the food service industry myself. ( I ALWAYS tip 20% even when the servers DO NOT deserve it). We said we wanted to close out anyway and wait over near the bowling lanes to observe. This must have made her nervous because she probably knew it was her fault we weren’t given a buzzer. We were told a lane has opened up in the back room ( where vip parties were seated ) obviously at this point they tried to accommodate however they could because they messed up our reservation. It’s been almost 2 hours at this point. The worst thing was she continued being our waitress because we expressed how we wanted to continue drinking. She never came to our lane to ask us what we wanted to drink. I went to the bar myself and paid cash there... and she yelled at me for doing so. Like ???? Clearly you are way too busy and I decided to take my wants into my own hands so you’re welcome. HPRRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will never go here again.
Kings bowling’s food was moderate, the waitstaff was excellent, the fun with bowling was awesome, the arcade was ok.. I just couldn’t believe that for 3 people to each eat a burger, have 3 alcohol beverages, and play two strings of bowling that it costs is $200 without a tip. Next we go back, if we do it will be just for bowling and beverages even though that bill alone was $101 with 1 angry orchard. But it was fun and great staff!
My wife, son, and I went to Kings in Burlington MA for dinner and to shoot pool. My wife and I ordered burgers and my son got the nachos with added grilled chicken. They have a fairly extensive menu and the prices are reasonable and portions are decent size. Although my fries could have been a bit hotter, and the nachos could have used a bit more melted cheese, everything was otherwise well prepared and very tasty. Our waitress, Jennifer, was very friendly and personable. She stopped by several times to see if we needed anything, cleared dirty plates to give us more room on the table, and delivered refills on soft drinks without having to be asked. When we arrived at Kings around 6:30PM, there was no wait for one of the six pool tables, but after dinner, the place became busy and we needed to wait about 10 minutes for a pool table to become available. The tables are in good condition and the house cues roll straight with cue tips that are not worn down to the ferrule. After an hour and a half of playing pool, we returned to the restaurant for dessert. My son ordered the truffle sampler, consisting of 4 golf ball sized truffles dipped in chocolate. I had one of his Oreo truffles, which was very delicious. The cookie and ice cream dessert my wife and I ordered came out wrong. We instead received a giant sundae, which we were not up the talk of eating; still full from dinner. A very well-dressed Manager and Jennifer went above and beyond to correct the error. Between dinner and pool, we spent several hours at Kings and had a fantastic time. For us, Kings is not exactly close, and there are several pool halls, bowling alleys and restaurants between here and there that we could go to, but Kings is worth the drive. We will definitely be back and soon.
Food and drink were utterly terrible to be honest. Three out of three people did not like their entrees. But the milkshake was good!
