We had a great night, but my wallet was stolen off of our table at the lane. Pretty bummed out that someone would do that especially at an establishment like kings. Not sure if it was staff or someone else, but it shows you the type of person who goes there.
Food and drinks are decently priced for the Seaport- and bowling is super fun. Doing the Dine then Bowl reservation was a little confusing on the phone, there were some miscommunications, and service was a little slow at dinner. But pub food is great. Drink service in the lanes and arcade was excellent. Great Friday night with friends.
For a place that is constantly busy on the weekend, you would think the service and management would be A LOT better. Upon checking in for our reservation, we asked the host to add us to the wait list for bowling. She energetically said "sure" and that we were all set, yet after an hour of waiting at our table we realized we were not on any bowling wait list. After complaining and asking another host to add us to the bowling wait list, we were finally added and bumped up a bit since we had already been at King's for an hour.
Finally once we were told our lane and that our bowling shoes would be ready for us at the lane when we went over. To no surprise, our lane was not set up and no bowling shoes were there for my party of 7. The waiter then begin questioning us and asking if we were in the wrong alley. Finally 35 minutes later we were given our bowling shows so we could begin... The manger came over and told us he was sorry and said we would be 25% off our bill. Once we got our bill in fact it was $25 off not 25% (big difference).
Although we made the most of the night and had a good time celebrating my friend's birthday, we were disappointed with our service and how King's Seaport was managed. Unfortunately the night created some headaches when we were just trying to enjoy ourselves.
Although our waiter in lane 2 ended up making up for it and being awesome!
Plan to spend an evening with friends, but did not work out as expected
Way too long of a wait. Not worth it. We waited 3 hours after being put on the list and eating our meal just to bowl.
Kings called me at 7:30 for an 8:15 reservation to tell me that they would not honor the reservation but offered to add my party to the two hour wait list. I won't be using OpenTable or making reservations with Kings in the future.
It's a fun atmosphere and a great experience to dine and bowl. Our server was great about getting our bowling information while we were eating and our lane was ready upon our completion of the meal! The arcade is a little pricey but overall it's a fun evening out in the Seaport!
Overall terrible service. The waitress did not come over for 30 minutes to even give us water. Once she did come over she was all over the place and clearly distracted. Food mediocre and we were sitting there for 2.5 house just to eat appetizers. Did not refill water and said she would comp some appetizers on the house but failed to do so. Did not even come to pick up bill we had to go to hostess stand and give a random lady our bill. Terrible service, okay food, if anyone goes they should go to bowl never to sit and eat.
Worst service I have ever experienced. Gave our drinks order, 30 mins later nothing. Gave it again. Finally came and one was wrong so a friend just went straight to the bar to get it fixed. Over an hour for apps. Server complained about everyone else’s mistakes but her own. No water refills. Expressed our unhappiness, no manager came over. When the bill came everything, including wrong drink was on the tab. Asked for a manager twice. They did end up comping the bill but whole ordeal was 2 hours for one round of drinks and an app that we canceled bowling and went somewhere else for dinner.
Understaffed, manager took care of the situation
The customer service experience was something that strongly impacted our review. Reasons why below:
- The wait staff were extremely rude and unapproachable.
-We were initially sat at a table designated for four people max in the middle of the bar area; reservation was made for 7 people.
-When we asked to move to a more accommodating table they informed us that booths need to be specifically reserved. I spoke on the phone with someone from Kings twice before arriving and there were no mention of specific areas that we need to reserve. They seem irritated and reluctant with our request to move to a table to fit our entire party.
-Our direct waiter/waitress was unpleasant and seemed irritated with orders that we gave.
-We had dirty dishes and empty glasses sit at our table for over an hour, without being asked for refills. A lot of money on additional drinks was missed for the lack of service.
-Waited 4+ hours for a lane to open up for us, with the reservation. We understood the demand for the lanes, but the lack of communication and service was very detrimental to our experience.
-We were informed when we finally got a lane that we would have someone come over and serve us and not to approach the bar. We waited 20 minutes without any service and had to approach a manager who was walking by that we were still waiting on a server (After we talked to two separate servers about coming over to our lane).
We typically are easy going and are very understanding of situations out of the servers control, however a lot of these frustrations could have been avoidable. We spent a lot of money and time to have such a negative experience. With that being said, we were very disappointed with the entire experience at Kings. Unfortunately, we will not be returning or recommending to friends.
Had a great time and the appetizer was delicious. Service was great and very friendly.
Had a great time. Lots of fun. The service was excellent and the food was good too.
Thank you to Sam and also the management, great food and great night all around.
Food was ok. Bowling not good. Sitting area at the lanes was jammed. People climbing over other parties to get to the restroom and bars and it was too pricey for a family of 3 for a quick bite and some fun. Although the grilled cheese and tomato bisque was good.
Went after work - arrived at 6:00 - did not have a server / drink until approx 6:40!!! Pleasant wait staff but not efficient. Front desk very abrupt
Saturday afternoon turned into evening in the seaport. Eat drink and bowl. Sports bar meets TGIFridays meets bowling. You don’t come here expecting much other than fun with friends and you leave pleasantly surprised. Food is upscale Friday’s, service is quick and smiling and bowling’s brilliant. Lanes are tight but so are real estate prices in the seaport. We met our neighbors and shared a pitcher of cocktails or three. Fun place.
Our waiter was god awful spilled water allover table came back about 15 minutes later with napkins. Then never returned to see how food was or to bring check. Sucked
Had a very good meal at Kings Seaport after getting out of work. Server was fast and efficient, she even remembered my order from my last visit. See you soon!
A little disappointed with the food. Most plates were served at room temperature. When ordering a cooked dish I would expect it to be warm to hot.
Enjoyed the atmosphere of the draft room, large TVs with plenty of beers on tap to choose from! Staff was friendly and attentive and make great recommendations for food. We got the buffalo chicken fondue and these amazing tuna bites. Everything was fresh and tasteful. We bowled after and bowling was fun with an upbeat environment different from the draft room. The manager even came over to ask how everything was!
Faster and efficient service! Draftroom has the biggest TVs I have ever seen and they are always showing different sporting events, not just local teams. Can wait to come catch a NFL playoff game!
Great service from the hostess, waitress and the servers in the bowling section. Would highly recommend it.
Incredible service but food was average.
I made a reservation to celebrate my daughters 18th bday and called in advance to make sure we were going to be able to play bowling after. I called and was assure my name will be placed 'high on the list' but such thing didn't happen. Not only did we have a hard time getting in at 8pm because it's "satuday" but we were told nothing was reserved for us for bowling. After talking to like 3 people we were told we could wait a little bit but more than 45 minutes went by and we were still waiting. So we chose to leave without playing and my daughter was sad and disappointed. Overall I'm very unhappy and can't recommend this place as family friendly at all. Terrible communication skills and staff very unfriendly.
Brought three kids for a fun night of games and food. Was very disappointed to find that the games were closed / inaccessible. They should tell you that when you make a reservation. The kids were very disappointed.
King’s is our go-to spot for dates, anniversaries, and “just for fun” spot. The bartenders and waiters are all fantastic and super friendly, and the food is always amazing. Thank you for another great night!
Waited 22 minutes before being approached by a waiter; French fries were cold. They brought the food out and I had no plates, no napkins, no eating utensils and no water. First time ever stepping foot in a King’s and a pretty lousy experience.
Awesome food and service on Sunday night!! The burgers were incredible!! Highly recommend!
Our group ended up have a great night! But honestly we considered leaving more than once because of how titious and drawn out the dine & bowl process is. We were encouraged to come have dinner and at that time put our name on the bowling list but we still waited 2 hours after we finished eating! The whole system is kind of a pain in the butt like there’s too many steps to take to get to a lane. Just simply the process it’s a fun place!
Made a ‘Dine and Bowl’ reservation for a group of 5 at 7:30pm. Seated promptly, enjoyed dinner, finished eating around 9:00pm. At 10:30pm a bowling lane was still not available. So much for dine AND bowl. Felt like a hook to get us to come in for dinner. The reason we had dinner there was to then be able to bowl. While the meal was fine, if I knew there was a low likelihood that we could be able to bowl, I would have gone somewhere else for dinner.
They were great!! We all had a wonderful team!!! Everything went smoothly.
Great value. Attentive staff. Place is clean, spacious. Didn't use the attached bowling alley but the facility looked excellent.
Booked a Dine and Bowl reservation, when I got there they said the reservation was only for dinner but not to worry as there was no wait for bowling. The waitress confirmed we would not have a wait. After dinner I checked in about the bowling and was told we had to wait 30 mins and there was no record of my party. I reminded them that they had shared there was no wait. That 30 mins turned into 50 mins. Disappointing because this location is closer to home than the back bay one yet this is not my first time with bad service in the seaport
Service was a little slow, but it seemed he had tons of tables to himself in the bar. The food was amazing, especially the crab Rangoon dip and impossible burger meatballs! Giant cold beer mugs are a nice touch too!
Nothing special just a different seaport destination
Wouldn’t mind going back but not a must go place.
We celebrated my kids birthdays and they brought out a huge ice cream Sunday and a couple of free plays cards for the games were very nice
Went to watch a Red Sox game and have fun with some friends and was not disappointed. Great service, felt welcomed, everyone was inviting and efficient
Everything was adequate. Food was passable for bar food. Bowling was fine. Nothing special but not bad for sure
Service was fast and friendly but I found the King's menu selections leaned more towards many items of a spicy nature. I booked a dine and bowl for my daughter's birthday for a Friday night reservation around 9:30/10PM. It was nice that it was a moderate night rather than over busy because from the reviews I have read the very busy evenings posed a problem, which we ran into none. We were seated immediately and our wait staff was friendly, accommodating and very helpful. He took our food order and sizes for bowling shoes to prepare us in advance for when we were ready. After eating, we were immediately taken to our bowling lane. It was a nice 4-bowling lane private area which I rather enjoyed though my daughter felt the lane sizes were somewhat small. They surprised my daughter with a complimentary, huge Orea sundae and we enjoyed our quaint evening with a friend as well. Overall it was a good experience.
Insufficient staffing, food too salty
I really have no more to add. Would not return nor anyone in the party of 7
