It took the waiter 15 minutes to bring the drinks to our table. He did not have a sense of urgency or seem to care about that. When the remainder of our party arrived, it took him forever to bring those two drinks as well. The drinks should be delivered on a timely basis. It's not enough for a place to look good, the wait staff should develop a more professional attitude.
Nice spot. Food was good
Our family of 6 arrived to try out their restaurant week menu. This is a second time back. The menu is the same but the 3 courses meal were just ok this time. I had the soup which was lurk warm should be hot, the swordfish is tasty but grilled different this time and a smaller piece of fish, 4 of the adults had the sliced beef but lack of flavor like no salt or pepper. The gelato was delicious. The apple crisp was room temperature which I prefer to be hotter. Chocolate cake was good I heard. It seems there was 2 different chefs at the 2 times we dined in Sunday’s. The service is a lot better this time since I didnt have to find someone to fill our water glasses. The servers were more attentive since we had our 5:30 reservation. Overall, service has improvement but food was not as hot in temperature as the dishes should be served.
Not impressed with their food at all. Nothing was prepared that well and the presentation was fair at best. For the restaurant week we expected a better representation and quality based upon previous reviews. Would not go back again.
Food was very good. I felt we were a little rushed through our meal. The restaurant was not crowded so they didn’t need our table. Service was very attentive but food was just brought out too quickly.
Unfortunately, the salads we ordered were tasteless, the dinner was cold and the warm apple crisp was not warm. The staff after initially take our order were nowhere to be seen.
We had dinner for restaurant week and was a very reasonable dinner. Regular menu much more pricey. Sword fis was overcooked, manager was very accomodating and adjusted our bill
Beautiful restaurant with very good food and excellent service.
Tried it for the first time during LI Restaurant Week. Everything was excellent and better than I was expecting. Portions are a nice & generous. We started off with the Spice & Brine and the Marga-Beet-a cocktails. So ingeniously creative and tasty. For appetizers we also tried the raw Little Neck clams & shrimp cocktail. Very fresh and nicely sized. For starters we had the Steamed P.E.I. Mussels with Thai red curry, basil & lime. Really delicious. The broth was delicious and the mussels were large & not overcooked. The local beet salad was also sweet & tasty. The Pan Seared Skate with butternut squash was very creatively blended with butternut squash, shitake mushrooms, Brussels sprouts & pomegranate. Absolutely amazing! As was the Atlantic Salmon. Finished the meal with a white chocolate cheesecake and Cinnamon Apple Crisp. A great addition to the neighborhood!!
I was very disappointed in a restaurant that was praised in the newspaper review.
OMG. Could this place BE any more special and spectacular? We had the most delicious dinner of appetizers and main courses and INCREDIBLE desserts ever. The ambience is so amazing and beautiful and the service is top notch. We have the mussels and grilled octopus as a first course, then the amazing swordfish and sliced steak as a main. The flourless chocolate cake was flawless as well as flourless and the gelato was delicious. The restaurant is just SO gorgeous and so is the staff. I cannot wait to go back for my 4th time. A gem. 💪🏻😎💯🌟🔥🏆
Great place with delicious food. Only complaint I had was a long wait between app and entree, saw table next to me get their entrees before me when they were seated quite a bit after our party of 2 were and no one came over to say sorry about the delay until moments before meal finally arrived. All in all worth trying in considering.
First time, and oh what a pleasure. Food was absolutely amazing. Staff are very arentive and caring. Manager came up to each table a few times making sure everyone was doing ok. Great experience! Will be back
Kingfish is a worthy successor to Schaudel's Coolfish. The food and drinks were fantastic. Be sure to try the duck wings and the short ribs and you can't go wrong with any of the seafood. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will certainly be returning to Kingfish in the future.
Kingfish is a gem! Went to lunch with friends and the entire experience was amazing from beginning to end. Waiter was engaging, professional and just the right amount of attention. Food was delicious. Had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone!
Ate there for restaurant week. Food was good.
It’s our first time dining at the restaurant. We were here for restaurant week in Long Island. We had salmon & sword fish both dishes are delicious. The special wine offering with the restaurant week menu was ok. I would have selected little more deep favor wine. The selection of oysters can have more varieties. Overall I will come back and try other entrees.
It was my first time dining here and we went for Restaurant Week. I will definitely return!
We were served our meat after 10 pm when our reservation was for 815 and we were seated at 830. Terrible management staff and unprofessional service
The food when it finally arrived was very good. The deficiencies was the long wait (over 1 hour for appetizers, and close to 2 hours to receive main courses). Moreover, they were out of one of the evening specials, of which we were not informed of that until 1/2 hour after ordering. Our reservation was 7:15 PM, and it's hard to fathom being out of a special, especially since the menu itself is very limited.
To apologize for the aforementioned deficiencies, they didn't charge us for desserts and cocktails. Overall. as noted, the food was very good, and hopefully they'll improve on their delivering timely meals with a more abundant seafood menu.
Pleasurable meal- Alexandria and Victoria were great- fish was fresh and delicious- highly recommend
The grilled oysters with siracha were the star of the show. But the raw bar selection didn’t disappoint either. We split the sea skate which was tasty but a bit dry. The sides of cauliflower and steak bite appetizer were delicious. Definitely going back.
Solid meal, good service, nice atmosphere and the acoustics are great.
Highly disappointed. We expected much better. The grilled octopus was served with sausage and potatoes (which was odd) and the lobster roll was two chunks of lobster. One of the chunks immediately fell out onto the floor when it picked it up. 😫
Excellent from beginning to end.
Opened for 4 months. Decor was very nice; fresh and inviting with oyster bar when you enter. Staff was very nice. But service was below average (eg. had to ask several times for bread). Menu was great but 2 of meals were under cooked and had to be sent back. Other 2 meals were awesome. The short ribs and seafood special were phenomenal. Dessert was good; Rocky Road is thumbs up. Overall, a very nice experience.
Had the pleasure of dining at Kingfish this past weekend. Parking was no problem, choice of valet or self park a short walk away. Great bar and food. Service was exceptional. Can't wait to return.
Adam and his staff did another enjoyable meal and experience .
Everything was great, the food, service and ambiance was fabulous. Brandon was our server and did a fantastic job.
The service was top notch despite the fact they brought out the wrong seafood entree. It was quickly remedied and we enjoyed It all !
Will definitely return
We had an amazing experience, the drinks were unique and amazing, the menu well thought out and the dishes delicious. Even dessert was perfect. I highly recommend!
Service was spotty, three of us ordered drinks and two came, we had to wait/ask for the third.
Oysters definitely good.
Mixed reviews at our table about the food- one person wasn’t so fond of the swordfish, but we all agreed the lamb ribs were great. We ordered a flatbread, which turned out to be on more of a cracker than a crust, disappointing.
My husband ate the lobster knuckle sandwich and he really liked it.
Great venue, nice bar, terrific food and wonderful service. A hidden gem!
Hidden away in the Vanderbilt residences, and with no exterior views to boast of, this is a beautifully-appointed eatery with modern lighting and furnishings. Service is very good and attentive. The menu is fairly basic but with enough creative offerings to appease the foodie in the group. Our food was prepared very well and combined with wonderful cocktails. Kingfish Oyster Bar was a hit for our entire dining party.
While the food was good, I found the prices too high.
Great place to celebrate a milestone. We had a fantastic evening with the best service. Bravo kingfish!
Great food, great service and very nice atmosphere!!!
Very good food and ambiance!
Awesome - Tom Schaudel does it again!! We actually stopped in after local shopping not knowing this was another creation of Toms and we just amazed. Of course, when we learned of Toms connection we were still amazed at the experience. Can’t wait to return
An oyster bar shouldn’t serve farm raised mushy shrimp!!
