Kingfish Oyster Bar
We’ve been here before for lunch and enjoyed the food and ambiance. It’s one or two steps up from any local restaurant. We took our daughter here for her birthday and it was very enjoyable. Wine list is extensive and they make excellent cocktails.
We ate at Kingfish Oyster Bar for the first with a group of seven friends. The service was great and everyone's food was spectacular. We look forward to coming again.
not a great meal and not great service....they tried making up for it by giving us free afterdinner drink and free dessert but really didn't need that...needed better service and a better meal!
Great food with lovely ambiance! Keto-friendly options are important for me, and they did not disappoint.
Food is always consistently good although use to be better. Service is always consistently bad. Sorry but unfortunately it really hurt the restaurant.
We were on a business dinner. Food was excellent and so was the service. I ordered the mussels in Thai sauce and the others had oysters and calamari. The branzino I ordered was delicious.
I will be back with my hubby during restaurant week and my cousins are joining us.
Kingfish is located in the Vanderbilt hotel and residences. The entryway is absolutely stunning and the floor to ceiling doors to Kingfish are directly across the way. I have been to Kingfish several times now, and have found it just getting better and better. Love the open, beautiful space! Each and every time Chef Schaudel’s use of fresh local product has been outstanding. I am addicted to the duck wing appetizer, I have it every time! The Monkfish I had as my main was absolutely delicious. We all ordered this special, and everyone was impressed. His bar staff are awesome, my friends love the craft cocktails and excellent service, and we’ve started to head over early to hang and enjoy the drinks and service. It’s taken a little time for the service staff to find their stride, but Saturday night our two servers were flawless. They elevated the fabulous food to create a truly memorable evening. They celebrated my friends birthday without me reminding them I had added the note of a birthday as a special occasion when I reserved on Open Table. Thank you for your attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
The food was perfect. Front the oysters, tuna tartare to my perfectly prepared veal chop.
We have been to Kingfish several times and love it. This time was no exception! We had a combination of specials and items on the menu and all were amazing.
Good for New Years Eve
Loved the ambiance and the food was delicious and creative. They need more servers, as the waitress was good but she had too many tables to handle by herself.
First time at this new restaurant and my wife and were not disappointed. She had the surf and turf and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the Salmon, which was also delicious. The service was excellent and they had an excellent wine list. For dessert, we had the apple crumb with ice cream which was superb. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
The menu was under-whelming, the atmosphere almost non-existent (big windows looking onto interior hallways is not what I expected), and I didn't feel that our server knew the menu very well. For example I wanted the branzino (one of the fishes of the day) plainly grilled without the dumpling and cream sauce, but with the rapini. She told me that was not possible, as the rapini was mixed in with the dumpling, and that I couldn't order the rapini separately. I doubted that that was the case, but if what she said was true, I think the kitchen needs to be more flexible with its ingredients and sides.
Oysters were very good,
Service was good.
Small portions of food, but good taste.
Drinks were good
Deserts were good
The seafood was excellent, good portions and great presentation. We had the salmon and tuna, both were very good. We also had the apple crumb for desert which was excellent. LaMar, our wine sommilier was very attentive, friendly and provided good suggestion.
The bar was lovely. Food is expensive $18 for a burger! , portions were small (2 small duck tacos for $15!), though tasty.
The branzino filet was too 'fishy' tasting. The staff was attentive.
A burger...a pasta.... or a piece of fish... you cannot beat this place.
Our 10 visit and 5 friends have followed our advise and everyone is raving.
Beautiful decor, staff lovely, looking forward to returning.
Amazing experience from start to finish! Staff was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious!!
Food was just mediocre, service is awful. Unfortunate because the menu is excellent and the space itself is very nice.
Good food and service. The appetizer was a little small for the $. Excellent burger (worth the $). Great sea bass dish (a little pricey). Quiet on a Sunday night.
Excellent restaurant! Ambience is beautiful. The food and service are excellent.
Second time to this restaurant and a huge disappointment.
Waited 15 minutes to be seated for our reservation on An evening that was not particularly busy so we walked around the building which is lovely and the best feature to this restaurant.
Once we were seated we were told we would have 2 servers for the evening. The 1st one was more of a busboy not trained as waiter. Once the waiter showed up he was neither apologetic or conciliatory about the long wait. We waited 1-1/2 hour before we were served our dinner which arrived cold. The signature salad was nothing special, Blackened swordfish bland and all entrees were tepid.
This is another B Flat Long Island restaurant with high prices, loud and terrible service. Service should not be something we must pay high prices for but should be how all GUESTS are treated. Pass on the one.
Chef-owner; well prepared and delicious fish-we had the blackened Sword and crusted Mahi-Mahi. Expensive, but worth it. Nice sized portions. Desert-must have is mini hot chocolate. Our waiter, Rich, was Aces!
Beautiful decor and promising menu went out the window due to really poor service
Once again, another great meal at Kingfish. It was a first for our friends who joined us. They were impressed with the menu being fish lovers.
Our first time here, we were big fans of Coolfish so had to try this new one. Pretty place, fantastic service and food, we will definitely be back!
This place has it all. The chef is a genius. We had the soup of the moment, a wonderful bean-andouille sausage. The duck wings are to die for.
Wifey had swordfish I had a special fish called meagre.
The gelato was amazing as well. Excellent experience. We will be back.
What a wonderful meal and delightful experience. The place is very attractive, all brand new everything with the latest decor, and it has a nice vibe. The service was terrific and the food a real treat. We went for a birthday lunch and couldn't believe the three-course lunch special at $22. We went beyond that and ordered some appetizers, grilled octopus and some nice rock shrimp.
The location is a little hard to find as it is in a new luxury apartment building over by Corporate Dr/Zeckendorf, off the Meadowbrook Parkway, near Target. Go, you will love it.
We had a really wonderful way to who knew everything about the menu and help us decide what we should order the food came out perfectly prepared and the fish was extremely fresh oysters were amazing and the desserts were yummy
Very disorganized, waited for waitress for a long time, no check ins during dinner, food was just not good. It's a shame, beautiful place.
I do not recommend
We were very excited to try Kingfish and another Tom Schaudel creation. It's a beautiful new building and a lovely space in the lobby for Kingfish. We were seated at a table near the glass doors in the dining room and that allowed a full view. I'm sure in good weather the courtyard will be beautiful. After ordering drinks (no large ice cube for the bourbon) and asking questions about the multiple papers and menus put in front of us...quite confusing as there was no explanation. Appetizers came out...mussels were delicious but luke warm and the duck tacos ordered by 2 others were a hit....thats were it ends. Our entrees came out and there were as follows: Short Rib - came out cold and was sent back, black pasta with scallops - scallops were sandy and sent back, Tuna was luke warm not sent back.....problem was the water never came over, never asked what the problem was and left us to get up from the table to find someone to talk to....they sent a slice of chocolate mint pie and small after dinner drink - the problem with this is 2 of the 4 are allergic to chocolate and non of us drink after dinner sweet wine.... the manager came over finally and apologized but they didn't even begin to calm the unpleasant experience. VERY DISAPPOINTED we know its a fairly new place but this restaurant group in not new and should know better.
I had the Grilled Shrimp it was amazing. The oysters were super fresh and they had a great selection of drinks.
The place was amazing! The set up and decor was beautiful. The food was tasty and the service was terrific!
Live in building, I will use the restaurant and bar from time to time.
Thanksgiving dinner was awesome. So much delicious food without the clean-up😊😊. The staff were all so nice.
Raw bar was amazing. Staff was great as well. Really nice ambiance.
We’ve dined here a few other times and the restaurant doesn’t disappoint.
Enjoy a cocktail at the well appointed bar. Lovely staff and patrons.
Lovely dining room and then a visit from
“The Queen” my very favorite! I’m pretty much done after that however the red quinoa salad is also fantastic. My hubby enjoys the fish & chips.
New York City prices for mediocre food. Wait staff was very pleasant but not very efficient. Waited way too long for every request. Not worth the trip!
Everybody liked their food. The restaurants is good but as it is with most upscale restaurants on Long Island, a little pricey. We had good service with a very friendly waiter. We all had a good time and were happy we selected this restaurant. If you don'y mind paying a little extra , this restaurant is worth the trip.
