King Tide Fish & Shell, led by Executive Chef Alexander Diestra, is a riverfront seafood restaurant and bar inspired by the laid-back fishing lodges of family vacations gone by. With sparkling waterfront views of the Willamette, a welcoming energy and a menu that ranges from no-fuss to fancy, here at King Tide we serve fresh, inventive seafood dishes with local ingredients that are uniquely Portland.

There aren't many places that command the vantage point we enjoy here at King Tide, so we like to make sure it lives up to Portland. We do that with a blend of the traditional and the non, the comfortable and the slightly twisted, the satisfying food and the swinging drink.

As we like to say, King Tide is where food & drink & people always complement each other, and everything goes with the view.

We had the seafood tower and I didn't think it was very good. The tuna was tasteless and disgusting the crab tasted like it was previously frozen and somewhat tasteless. Also not good. They oysters and prawns were good. I would not go back.

Waitress was really off. She said there specials. And when I asked she said they’re all on the menu. When I asked here about the pasta dish on the menu, she literally needed to pull out a menu and just read the description to me. Hah.. could have done that myself.

Food is always excellent but service is hit or miss. Most recent visit we had servers arguing in front of us about who would take which table. And our server disappeared for a full 15 minutes after our food arrived, didn't ask if we needed anything, etc.

Atmosphere is great, especially with the outdoor patio seating when the weather cooperates. Prices are high for mediocre food and the service was very slow.

We came to the restaurant and was notified that the chef was not there and the menu was completely revised from what I saw online so we are completely blindside, totally dissatisfied with the experience and we actually didn’t even eat there …. we left once I saw the menu.😩

Got there before our reservation but they very gracious and accommodated us right away, the food was great, salmon was done perfectly - not at all dry. Our server was so professional and set a great tone for our meal. The noise made it hard to converse as the tables filled up, but everything else was really nice.

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch there with my family and there was truly something for every picky eater to enjoy. And the service was so great - we had a manager offer to walk with us outside to take our photo against the backdrop of the river - she did not have to do that. And they were so kind to move us to a spot that wasn’t a high top. They even made us the most extraordinary brunch coffee cocktail - on the house due to our wait, which was not bad at all. My husband enjoyed his more traditional eggs and sausage while my son and I slurped oysters and clam chowder, perfect truffle fries, and a lightly seasoned lobster roll. All delicious! We made a mental note to bring family here when they visit; such a great place with impeccable service and lovely views. Thank you, King Tide!
