Aside from being informed by Open Table that I had not attended my reservation (in the middle of my dinner IN the restaurant) everything was very pleasant. Our server was great! Food was slightly over priced, but good nonetheless. We were seated next to a table with a child who was being kept occupied by an iPad at full volume. It sounded like an arcade. Parents were oblivious - so this is a very kid friendly place! Bring all your kids here!

I was disappointed that they didn't have steamed clams, but I get it. I think I'm the only person who likes them, as mussels are probably more popular.

We had a crab cake appetizer that was good and I had the Valentine's Day special of salmon and crab cake, with clam chowder. The salmon was very average, but the crab cake and chowder were good. My sister-in-law enjoyed her shrimp, but my brother's mahi mahi was tough and he sent it back for the swordfish, which came out quickly and was acceptable. The server was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a perfectly fine place for comfort food.

I cannot give an accurate rating because we never got a chance to eat. We had a reservation for 8:15. Arrived a little early.
We waited about 40 minutes and finally decided to leave.
We were told at least twice before leaving that the wait was a little longer.
The food looked like it may have tasted good but unfortunately I can’t say so for sure.

I booked a reservation 3 weeks in advance for 4 at 7pm. We arrived at 6:45pm and didn’t get seated until 7:45pm. The restaurant needs to have a better reservation management system.

Overall, the food and service was good.

We had a reservation but still had to wait a half hour to get seated and even then at the bar because there are no tables available.

The food was not worth the price. Had king crab legs but all i got are skinny prickly legs that barely had meat in them. I’m sure i would’ve gotten better king crab legs for the same price at a different place.

Went here with a friend and must say really enjoyed the old school crab shack vibe. We had the mussel and blue crab legs appetizer. Abosultely delicious garlicy goodness that went perfectly with the pita they bring to the table. For dinner we had the sword fish kabob that had a nice charred taste and was very tender. We also got the king crab boil that came in this really nice spicy sauce. Staff was also really friendly. Our server was really attentive and the busboy never let our waters go empty. Totally cool feel, definitely will come back!

This place is a total throwback yet current. They are celebrating their 39 year anniversary and I’ve been going for 39 years. Best cocktail sauce in town. The oysters Rockefeller taste like you are on Bourbon Street in Nawlins. The king crab is the real deal. Service is top notch and the Mai Tai is legendary.

I really wanted to like this place. I had read so many reviews and I just had to take the Mrs.

They were out of 4 of the beers we wanted.

The lobster bisque everyone raved about was taken off the menu.

This crab house was out of the large crab legs and so I opted for the medium which felt like a waste of money afterward. The Mrs. really enjoyed her Shrimp pasta though.

Looked at the dessert menu and wouldn’t you believe it they were out of the dessert I wanted.

The Service was good. There was a very large party going on and so it was very loud but I would imagine it’d be better under regular circumstances.

WORST PLACE EVER!!!!! They say “all you can eat crab legs” until you want all you can eat. They were taking pictures to make it appear they serve better plating and more food but they do NOT! They give you 2 legs after. Filet is a frozen meat that’s more like a sirloin. Potatoes are 2 boiled 50 cent red potatoes. Just don’t waste you’re time or you’re money!

Hello, thanks for dining with us.You mentioned in your review that we take pictures of the food to make it look like more food, just to let you know we were taking pictures of our jumbo and large size king crab and the 2 pounds seafood boil bag.We have three different sizes of king crab legs medium, large and and jumbo and the all you can eat is the smallest size every where in the city of Chicago and you had that.We also never buy frozen meat.

We were looking for reasonably priced seafood. The place was easy to find and really quaint inside. We sat by the window which was nice. Our server was friendly and attentive. Everyone had different things to eat and all enjoyed their food. Drinks were reasonably priced. Would definitely go back and recommend!

The food was just OK. BUT, I am also a person that travels and sometimes my expectations can be higher than the “norm.” Service (once we did get our waitress) was great. The greeter was non existent during our reservation. The first server that made contact with us said nothing, as if we knew someone else would be serving us. The restaurant was empty the entire time. I had the crab cake Benedict, and I expected a fluffy crab cake. It was fried and with shredded potatoes. Not a fav of mine, however the calamari was decent. I didn’t like the stuffed mushrooms, they seem to be a bit over cooked. The popcorn shrimp were normal and regular popcorn shrimp, nothing fancy. The unlimited crab legs can only be eaten at the bar, so we skipped that. For the drive and the money, I’m not going back. I’m glad my food was a birthday gathering with friends. Otherwise I’d regret going. For two people, with apps, food and 1 martini and coffee, the bill was 97 dollars. Not my 97, but under 100.

Walked in, told the hostess we had a reservation through open table. She said ahe couldnt check me in because they were locked oit of the system. Waitress was rude and barely spoke. Lobster bisque was horrible. Gritty and not 1 piece of lobster to be found. Salmon was partially burnt, baked potato was hard and king crab legs... Couldn't use the cracker because the shell so soft, meat was cold and hard. $85 for dinner, this was NOT what I expected.

Had an 8:30 reservation. We were immediately greeted by a polite and genuinel courteous host. We were promptly seated and the rest of the evening provided us with prompt, attentative and courteous service. This place may not be considered envogue, highend, over the top as some newcomers to the business are trying to convey. Some of those places spend more on ambience and a fancy environment and lose the "basics" along the way. The ambience here is cozy, clean, not stuffy and inviting. This is a restaurant that does what many diners expect from an establishment. We generally do not want pretentious people who are just doing a job. We customers can sense when servers go through the motions and then hurry to get you out of there Here at King Crab, the crew from bartender, host, and everyone who made eye contact with you greeted you with a smile as if you were a guest in their home. Our server was right on point. He made sure that his suggestions were aimed to help us decide and not move a product on the menu. We didnt feel hurried. He made it seem like it wasnt a bother to ask for small things, like more silverware, etc. We had the escargot,Stuffed hawaii fiish , shrimp scampi ( enough for two people). Our little guest had popcorn shrmp and a nice size hotdog. Oh and the oysters rockerfella. WOW! I have paid much more at other places and it takes a back seat to the ones at this place. I guess that is one of the reasons this place has been around for a looooong time in a city where many other places come and go. It still knows what many of us diners really care about and what totally matters when we dine.
FOOD, SERVICE and PRICE are exceptional here. The attention is placed where it should be- on the customer.

We love this place. We usually stop in twice a week. The jumbo crab legs are well worth the price, the stuffed lobster (with crab and shrimp) is so delicious. The staff is terrific, from the owners (Cy and Mitra) to the staff (Jeff, Terry, Mary, Joe, Elvira, Nazanin, Erin and others). First time we came in on a recommendation not knowing what to expect. Years later we are here every week and bring friends to enjoy this terrific place as well. For our last birthday, we had a custom bakery drop off some little cupcakes for our party. The folks at King Crab surprised us. They printed out 40 little photos of our dog's face and put them on toothpicks in the cupcakes. It shows how much this place values its customers. Definitely a diamond in the rough.

Recently visited King Crab with a group of ladies and our dining experience was fabulous. We had many appetizers and they were all delicious. The stuff mushrooms were totally awesome and the lobster bisque was mind blowing delicious. The calamari and buffalo wings were great too. Oh and so was the gumbo soup. Lol. I guess that surmise that all of the appetizers we ordered were great. The snow crab legs had to be the freshest I've ever tasted. The only thing that I didn't care for was the drawn butter. I guess it was a smoky taste that it had but it kind of took away from the delicious crab legs. I would have preferred either garlic and lemon seasoned butter or just plain.

Overall good experience. Waitress was very friendly and helpful (so was manager). Only disappointment this time was with food: mussels were very small and quite a few of my shells were empty, lobster bisque was watery, lobster must have been puréed, and flavor had a pumpkin-spice hint; returned for replacement of clam chowder. It was also watery; with limited clam presence). Salad was good, and crab legs were also tasty.

We notified our sever that we had theater tickets but we were told they were training a new chef to explain the very slow service.
My husband was told the soft shell crabs were very good but they were clearly frozen and my friend said the stuffed Swai was not good. This was not our first visit but it may have been our last

We used to go to a local crab place for years and King Crab House wasn't even on the radar. Once the owner of that other establishment passed, we ventured out and found this hidden gem. From the outside it is unassuming, however, the food and service is out of this world. Can go up against any king crab downtown. It was an immediate family. The owner, Cy, the manager, Mitra and the fabulous staff (ask for Mary, she's a terrific server) make a really magnificent experience and that's why we come here many times a week and bring friends to enjoy the service and food.
