Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 4:00pm - 12:00am
A block up from Steppenwolf. There are both bar seatings (and bar offers, not available in dining room, such as happy hour deals and so on) and dining room seating. We chose the dining room, which was a bit quieter. Service was attentive and friendly. We loved the oysters Rockefeller, which had lots of spinach and reasonable amount of cheese with undercooked oysters (near raw -- good but ask for more done if you don't like raw oysters). Lots of choices in seafood, and a few non seafood. Catfish was good, soft shell crabs were excellent.
It was a nice experience for our first time trying seafood.
Food was mediocre but service was good.
Place seemed small as we didn’t know there was a back room. Owner/manager was unfriendly and seemed to seat us at a bar table in small front area because we booked through open table . bar tables were crowded and wobbly.
Nonetheless. Service was great, waitress super friendly and Alaskan king crabs were delicious. Bill was over $100 for two - no appetizers, 1 glass wine. FYI
You cant really go wrong with the basics of steamed crab but there was nothing about it that made it special or delicious. No dipping sauces offered or garlic butter - it was just “ok”. Not super great but not at all bad. Cracking open crab is always fun & sloppy so great place to hang out or eat with a group.
Drinks were great! Food was great! and the service complimented it all from the beginning to the end! we will be back soon!
Celebrated my friends birthday. The service staff was excellent, the food was awesome and ambiance was wonderful. Love this place. Thanks for making this celebration wonderful.
The food was unimpressive and bland. There were cobwebs above our table and we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch. Not good signs! Nothing compelling for a return trip to this establishment.
The food is just ok, very overpriced. $10 for crab stuffed mushroom caps, and only three mushroom caps on the plate, which actually was ok because the crab stuffing was dry and lacked flavor. There was nobody in the entire back dining area except us, and yet we asked for more pita chips at least four times and never got them until we pointed it out when the bill came. I won't go back.
Food was very good, service a little slow, even on a Monday night. Crab Leg special was a good deal, food was quality. Others at the table had fish and crabcakes, everyone was happy. Our key lime pie for dessert was only OK.
Great spot for seafood
The food was really fresh and worth it. The restaurant was rather small but quaint and comfortable. I will definitely return for a night out with someone special or the girls. Valet was polite and convenient as well.
An excellent find for good quality seafood. Answered every question we posed to them and the food and service was excellent. Looks kind of small from the front, but a large seating area in the back. I would definitely go back.
A nice option for the neighborhood, especially before/after steppenwolf shows. Very reasonable prices. The options for non-seafood eaters is good too.
It was ok! One of the waitresses was quite pushy and almost annoying but our waitress was very professional and Sweet.
Cute restaurant and good food
We were so happy when we were scrolling Open table to see that this restaurant had opened again. Jill was an amazing waitress and we enjoyed our meal so much!
Disappointing experience. Didn't even get to order as my wife was injured by an employee who showed no compassion.
Employees seemed unhappy almost angry and there was no manager on site.
Upon leaving the ladies room, she walked down the hallway to the main restaurant and the employee opened a door into her and injured her left shoulder. Made no apology and the vibe in the restaurant was all wrong. We left and found somewhere else that had customer first approach.
Terrible. Will never return.
I made reservations thinking it would be necessary however upon entering we realized on that Saturday evening it wasnt. Initially, we were going to sit on the enclosed patio however decided against it. The patio was a small tight confined space. My patio chair was unsteady when I prepared to sit down. We moved into the inside of the restaurant which was okay. I asked for a "Southern Hurricane" which is on thier drink menu but when I asked the wait staff she looked at me like I had two heads. I repeated it again 2x and she continued to look at me in a strange manner. My date then pointed the drink out on the menu and her response, "I'll see if they can make it". I had higher expectations but was slightly underwhelmed.
Will definitely be back the whole experience was just awesome!
Fresh seafood cooked well. My wife and I enjoyed our date night at this location.
A little over priced for the quality.
Very nice on everything overall.
Our server was great. The restaurant is so nice but I think they should chanage the signage outside to reflect how nice it is on inside (4 star for outside). I felt like I was at a seaside resort and the food was fantastic! Our kids love Alaskan King Crab and the prices and crab was great for Chicago!
So glad they've reopened! Great seafood menu, reasonably priced, nightly specials, oyster bar. We often eat here prior to Steppenwolf shows. We most recently enjoyed huge King Crab legs and delicious stuffed Swai. There's a nice little outdoor courtyard in back when the weather cooperates. The garlic pita chips are addicting.
Not worthwhile and not good food. They need to do things much better
Probably the thickest and longest king crab legs I have seen in the lower 48 states. So delicious.
Quality food at a fair price. Wine selection could be expanded. Service was very good
The Alaskan King crab was good but not great. It was the same price as Joe's but not as good. The waiter smelled of cigarette smoke and the ambiance is kind of rustic. Nothing special in my opinion.
Four of us dined at King Crab on a Saturday night after seeing Spamilton. We were seated promptly in a very pretty dining room. The mussels and oysters were excellent, the two-pound crab special (my daughter insisted it was more than two pounds) was a great bargain and absolutely delicious, and the scallops and tuna were cooked to perfection! Service by Mike was very attentive - he was able to answer our questions even though he was still in training. The manager came by our table to make sure all was well, and then thanked us as we were leaving.
Enjoyed all aspects. from the friendly service to the tasty provided garlic pita bread, to the excellent entrees and good draft beer selection we enjoyed our meal.
Excellent seafood. The medium crab legs were sweet and perfectly cooked. The shrimp special on offer the night we went was great. Highly recommended!
After a 2 year absence, King Crab has returned to it's original Lincoln Park location. It's a wonderful place for excellently prepared, fresh seafood at an affordable price. So glad they have returned to the neighborhood!
Great customer service, food was delicious as always. My favorite seafood restaurant.
They were only open 2 weeks in this new location when we dined there. Very friendly, hospitable staff. Still working out a few "kinks" but they tried very hard to please.
Food was delicious. Perfect spot for dinner before the Theater.
