   The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The tables are spread nicely so you don’t hear conversations from other tables. And, the food was amazing! Went with friends on Thursday for restaurant week. You get to choose either an app or dessert and a main. For apps we got the deviled eggs(4) and cornbread. The were good sized portions. For our mains we shared the cheeseburger, strip loin, and short ribs. All were delicious, but the short ribs were our favorite. We ended the meal sharing the chocolate peanut butter bacon bar. It was perfect to share between the 3 of us. Our server was great. He checked on us periodically, but wasn’t overwhelming. Highly recommend King & Rye! We will DEFINITELY be returning!

   Worst eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Absolutely no taste. I should have been warned because it took literally 90 seconds for the food to come to my table after I ordered it. Meanwhile the cinnamon bun was quite pedestrian. Fruit cup was good however coffee was good and they gave my wife a free piece of cheesecake for her birthday. Still….

   I decided to try this place for restaurant week. It was nice, however the pricing didn’t make any sense. The restaurant week price for a starter and main (deviled eggs and burger) was $35, however, if I just purchased these two items off the normal menu, it would have been cheaper ($25). It seems a little odd that they charge people more money during restaurant week for the same items.

   Awesome service, excellent cocktails, fantastic main dishes and dessert, appetizers were good but not up to the same level as the mains. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our date night and will definitely be back.

   Everything was good, -very nice service , very good coffee (soy milk latte) just that the bacon did not taste very good. I have had the bacon there before so I know it is uniquely thick, almost like pork belly. However last few times I’ve ordered it - it was still very tasty and a bit crunchy. This time the bacon had no flavor and was mushy. My daughter, who loves bacon and will usually eat any variety of it- wouldn’t eat this one. Just an fyi! Otherwise very nice brunch.

   Normally we’ve had good experiences here before, but our last visit wasn’t very satisfactory. Although we arrived on time for our reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. The cold air from the doors (front and patio) was a distraction. My wife’s mussels were fine, but the chicken entree was tasteless. Our server was fine, however. We skipped coffee and dessert and headed for the comfort of home.

   Did not like the wine list, should be some Italian wines on the list. The menu was very southern I realize that located in Virginia, but wish there was more fish choices. So I went with the Farro dish, which I thought was excellent!!

    One waiter seemed to be doing all the work while the waitress couldn’t even bring water to the tables. The potatoes were delicious. I ordered over medium eggs, and the whites were not fully cooked. It was fine - nothing to write home about.

    Had dinner at King & Rye with 2 others. We all ordered different entrees, and we all loved them. I had the tea brined chicken with green bean casserole-so yummy. The pork and beans, and the shrimp and grits, the others ordered were also outstanding. Would differently come again. The restaurant was busy, and service was great.

    Holiday getaway. Our hotel offered continental breakfast and we wanted a hot breakfast. We deleted Ted King & Rye as it was the highest rated breakfast available on weekdays. The eggs were noticeably better quality than most. The biscuit was crispy and flaky, not crumbly or doughy. Our group of 4 ordered stellar - several items and shared. I would have preferred syrup on the side of the pancakes. I will go back next time we are in old town.

    King and Rye is centrally located in Old Town and, thus, is convenient. The wait staff is excellent. The food is good. On the day I ate there, the billing system was down and I could not pay with a credit card, but the wait staff was quick to accept cash and I had the needed amount on my person.

    For a breakfast area next to a higher end hotel, not great ambiance (although nice music and food was fine). Very sterile tables and decor. Needs to be refurbished. Prices were fair though.

    The restaurant is a very open space with a nice ambience and moderate noise level. The service was above average. The brunch menu had nice offerings, but came out lukewarm. The sausage gravy with biscuit was not warmed through, so they took it back and it came to the table this time too hot to touch. After that I didn't send anything back. I just wanted to enjoy my a special time with my daughter. When I received the bacon eggs benedict it was almost warm and unappealling. There was barely any hollandaise sauce (tablespoon?) on these teensy poached eggs and skimpy bacon.. I asked for steamed spinach to replace their "crispy fried" potaotes, but was told that wasn't an option. Everything was barely warm. The price was too much for the small portions and quality of the overall meal.

    King and Rye is always great but their new menu additions are spectacular. Duck and chicken pot pie were two of our faves…great cocktails and ambience as well as a friendly and attentive staff.

    Fantastic brunch at the King and Rye. Easy parking. Simple reservations. Incredible food. Great service. And a nice comfortable environment. Everything an Alexandria brunch should be.

    Seated quickly in desired area. Very busy morning Scottish Walk Parade. Meal arrived quickly hot and delicious. I’m sure due to a busy day attentive customer service would have been exceptional.

    Came for brunch/breakfast during our stay at the Alexandrian. They handled breakfast credits from our room very efficiently. The ambience is clean and modern. Food was good quality and good portions. Definitely make a reservation for breakfast if you are staying at the hotel. They fill up quick!

    The food was incredible. This is my third visit so I brought family after thanksgiving my family enjoyed their meal immensely. We ordered the collard greens, burgers, chicken and green bean casserole with the kale and pomegranate salad. The greens were delicious and we’re from the south so we know good southern food. Highly recommend everything. The kale salad could have been massages a bit more to make the kale more tender but other than that, we loved everything from the seasoning to the temperature of the food to the presentation.

    Abject I saw poor reviews and I thought, no people just need to be more understanding with staff shortages but there is plenty of staff here. I felt rushed. I booked for a 9:15pm reservation as I was flying in. I started getting texts at 8:30pm telling me my table was ready. I had to rush to drop my bags off my at my hotel fearful that my table was going to be given away. I get there and the place is dead. No atmosphere. The floor has marks on it. There's even table and chairs inside with patio furniture. Within a minute of sitting down my server was demanding to know what I wanted to eat. Literally I order a drink and it was "and for food". I said I needed a minute. My drink was an inconvience. I asked for an Old Fashioned with Rye. Considering the place is called King and Rye, I don't think that's unreasonable but the server acted stunned and was clearly condescending over it. Then as soon as the drink arrives, hounding me for the food order. Clearly wanted to go home. I ordered the steak and was recommended to add the roasted veggies (upcharge). Fine. The steak was due to come with parsnips. The food arrives. No parsnips. I asked and got told "I told you sir to order the roasted vegetables". First, you told me? What am I? Five years old? Second, parsnips are a roasted vegetable. Clearly there is pressure to upsell guests and then remove items promised as part of the main course in the hope guests don't notice. I ordered a 2nd old fashioned. The server comes back later saying "did you really want that again?" They're not short staffed. There was 3 people gossiping at the host stand for 15 minutes. The bill was slapped down without a thank you or an ask if I wanted dessert.

    It was perfectly average. Food was good, cocktails were decent. Despite having a reservation and there being other open tables, our small party was seated at a table that was way too large making it hard to have a conversation.

    Restaurant is very good, however there is one complaint that must be made. I reserved ahead of time for outdoor seating in the central garden area but apparently a wedding reception was booked "Last Minute" before I arrived! The food and the scenery was excellent but it would be much appreciated if the coordination was improved ^_^;
