At Kindling we believe that great steak should be for everyone. Located in the heart of Brighton, our restaurant offers a laid-back dining experience with great value, quality beef cooked over charcoal and live fire.
Our open kitchen lets you see all the action up close. Witness the skill and passion of our team as they cook your steak to perfection.

We focus on quality and value, creating a casual environment that makes everyone feel at home. Kindling is perfect for casual business lunches, family get-togethers and catch-ups with friends.

Our menu is simple but spot-on. It features grass-fed British beef and delicious cocktails, wines, and beers that perfectly complement your meal. On Sundays we serve our Sharing Roast for two alongside our regular menu.

Steaks were good - although there are better steak restaurants in Brighton. The macaroni cheese was very good although salad dressing was quite tart. Service though was quite disappointing. First waitress left us for almost 10mins before asking if we wanted anything to drink and then only brought half the order. Second waitress was better, although the damage was done. The restaurant was busy, although that is no excuse as you should know how many people are expected and staff accordingly. When spending over £200 for a meal, you expect better & wont go there again.

We had a brilliant family meal at Kindling - for a birthday. Food, ambience, and cocktails were ace. And staff were very nice. A lot of fun.

Beautiful evening from beginning to end. The Kindling is charming - each item of food and wine was perfectly prepared, delicious, and graciously served. Our meal there was a highlight of our visit to Brighton.

Such a fantastic restaurant. I booked to celebrate my Boyfriend’s Birthday. The servers were so polite, attentive and even suprised him with some truffles + happy Birthday message. We previously visited last year in June, since then it’s been able to retain and elevate it’s charm. Super cosy environment and the perfect mix of casual but luxurious! The menu is perfect too! The cabbage might have even topped the steak (shocking I know, it was that tasty). Thank you Kindling! :)

I booked the Kindling due to seeing reviews on social media, I wasn't disappointed, great little restaurant. Nothing seemed like to much trouble for the whole team, the service was relaxed but not slow. The food was fantastic, we chose a sharing steak, and 2 sides of sweet potatoes and the other was the cabbage. Dessert was just as great as was the extra dish for my husbands birthday. The atmosphere was really good, tables were not to close together, although with a small restaurants you may hear other diners' conversation if they are loud. Would we return, absolutely

The food was exceptional. The service was poor. We didn't feel listened too and when you did get a response it felt half hearted. This was a shame as it did not match the quality of the food. The toilets had no lock on so my daughter opened the toilet on a man and my friend was in the toilet and a man came in on her. When we spoke to staff they were clearly aware of this issue, we wonder why this hadn't already been dealt with. We would love to go back for the food but hope a different team of staff are working.

We had such a lovely dinner here, from the first welcome to the goodbye and everything in-between was wonderful. Staff made my wannabe chef son very welcome and happily answered our annoying questions as we sat watching their skillful operation in the open kitchen which was great fun particularly watching our T bond steak cook over the coals. The steak and sides was lovely, particularly the spinach dish. We will be returning hopefully for a roast on our next mini break ! Thanks all. Highly recommended.
