Kin Dee Thai Cuisine
Kin Dee’s is a modern tropical eatery with cuisine that is truly authentic representation of Thailand through its unique flavors, its ingredients and overall vision. Focused on made-from-scratch, authentic and primarily noodle-based dishes, Kin Dee delivers native cuisine exactly like it’s served in Thailand. Kin Dee’s beverage menu boasts 13 signature cocktails – each inspired by and designed to pair perfectly with one of the 13 signature entrees. Concocted with a decidedly Thai flair, cocktails include the Tom Yum, a Thai twist on a classic Texas margarita, the Mango Sticky Rice, a play on the well-known Thai dessert and the Phuket, a sour twist on a pineapple flavored drink. Food, drinks and service were outstanding! Huge value in HRW menu. Can’t wait to go back and try the pad Thai.
Outstanding experience. We let the waiter and staff pick our meal and everything was fantastic, including the cocktails and wine selection. Will go back. Our server was also very attentive and awesome.
Everything was perfect
One suggestion is to dim the lights in the evening
We sat outside and had a wonderful meal. Food was excellent.
Awesome experience and delicious food! It’s def worth a try! We did HrW but I’m sure they provide the same quality.
The food is very yummy. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired but that’s typical of Asian restaurants IMO. Lights are too bright, decor is a bit odd. Velvet chairs that can’t be wiped down seem like a bad idea for any restaurant but especially these days. Normally, I would just do take out, but their famous dumplings are dine in only. They have space off the parking lot that would be ideal for outdoor seating but they have their tables on the Shepherd side instead. I’m hoping they tone the music down and dim the lights before my next visit.
The food was amazing. Our group ordered family style so we could share and sample a variety of dishes. From the appetizers (dumplings, mixed appetizer combo and papaya salad) to our main dishes everything was delicious. The papaya salad was spicy and fresh and the dumplings were moist, slightly sweet and cooked to perfection. All I can say about the combo platter was all the offerings were delish, my favorite, the cups of fortune with the sweet/spicy chili oil. I could have drank that chili oil because if it was so savory. :) For the main courses we choose some classics, Tom yum soup, pad Thai and fried rice. While I was hesitant to order dishes that you could find at any Thai restaurant I was not disappointed. The pad Thai was one of the best if not the best that I have had. The noodles were not dry and the sauce was seasoned so well I could have ate the whole dish myself, truly mouthwatering. I also enjoyed the soup and the only less than first rate dish was the fried rice. The rice was lacking some seasoning for me but still was above average. I plan on returning and trying the other scrumptious dishes in the near future.
Sat outside and both servers for that station walked past me with no acknowledgment multiple times. Finally the manager asked if I’d been helped and when I said no, he profusely apologized and took my order. Entree came out before the two appetizers and the server seemed surprised. Eventually appetizers arrived with a scant apology. Cocktail was quite good. Pork and noodles were good, salad was very good, chicken satay was dry as a bone, practically inedible. Server never checked on me and so was never given the opportunity to say anything to have it remedied. Manager came back after I paid the bill and he asked so I told him my experience. He apologized again, seemed like he would have adjusted things but I had already paid and he sincerely asked for me to try again another time. Not sure I will. I had very high hopes based on hype from others.
The portions were on the smaller side. The meatballs were too dry. The drinks were good, but we couldn't help but feel it lacked the authenticity we were hoping for.
I saw Kin Dee on ABC 13 Localish edition and I decided to eat there for my bday with friends and family. The food, the decor, the staff and the ambiance was excellent.
Good first visit...will return to try other dishes on menu that sounded interesting
Live the food!!!! Servers are very approachable. Very informative and organized.
Food was very tasty, delicious and very fresh. Great waiter
Best Thai cuisine in Houston. Amazing flavor and great service.
Food was delish. Our server, Nick was great. We will definitely be back
Great place for Thai food. Definitely coming back soon
Tried out this new restaurant for my hubby's birthday and they gave special treatment. Their menu is online and I like how each item has a picture. We ordered from the HRW menu and added the flower dumpling appetizer, which they tell you steps on how to eat it. The food was delicious, decor was beautiful, and staff was friendly and attentive.
The food was dele table and the drinks were amazing.
The music was a little too loud. It was difficult to hear my dinner date and we were seated opposite each other.
Checked out Kin Dee for Houston Restaurant Weeks. Awesome experience. Everything came out fairly smoothly. Decent portions considering it was restaurant weeks. Only think wasn’t offered further other drinks than water. But overall great food and will be going back.
The food was amazing and presentation was great as well. Our server was extremely pleasant and very helpful. We will definitely be coming back very soon.
Only open 3 weeks. Very authentic and nicely done.
Food is very creative and tasty.
Service was not good, food was ok, but nothing to bring me back again.
I went with my SO for HRW. It took about 20-25 minutes just to get the appetizer out. The staff was super nice and checked on us often to apologize for the way, but I felt like the kitchen was understaffed. The food was good, but not for the price. I’ve had more authentic Thai food for half the price. Overall, it’s okay.
Every small plate we ordered was delicious. My pork entree was so tender. Staff was knowledgeable and nice. Will come back!!
We started dinner trying several appetizers, but our absolute favorite was the Thai Flower Dumplings. The curry dishes and Casseroled Shrimp with Glass Noodles were also delicious. We liked the cocktails, especially Tom Yum and Melonic, but they could have been a little stronger. Finishing off with the Coconut Ice Cream made for a successful Friday night out!
Marvelous, uniquely prepared Thai served by the most knowledgeable, engaging waitress
Our waitress was amazing and very helpful! You MUST try the purple dumplings, they are OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING.
Family dinner out! The dumplings and money bags were delicious! We had pad Thai And spicy pork soup! The purple butterfly tea was magical’
Food is satisfactory, not great. We ordered 5 dishes, I enjoyed two, the other three didn’t really care for. Service is average at most, if say below average but rounded up. Ordered my appetizers, they came out and had to ask if I could go ahead and order Entrees.
Environment is nice, layout is a bit unusual. Had to wait and walk to restaurant to get service - not greeted at door.
Would not come back, plenty of better Thai restaurants in Houston. Expected more from this restaurant, a bit disappointed.
The food tasted great but it took an hour and a half to get. No one filled me in. We were a small party of two and it just felt like we were kind of forgotten. Would have been nice if someone came over and told us a little more information.
We went at peak hours on a Friday night. We got a table right away but it took about 45-50 min to get our food after we had ordered. It spoiled the experience quite a bit. I would try them again but just not at peak hours or once they've been open for awhile and the wait times for the food have come down.
Huge portions of delicious food with an outstanding waitress. Restaurant was busy (within social guidelines) so service was slow but owner apologized. Can’t wait to go back.
Some confusion on our order. Kitchen was slammed. Lots of take out orders
But the food made up for all of it. Definitely top notch. They need a bigger place. Normally I would have been very grumpy but the managers and the food made it worthwhile
Please try them. Just not on the day I am there so it’s not so busy!
Great introduction to a new restaurant in The Heights during Restaurant Week. Well done!
Food and drinks were amazing! Love the sever and manager. Owner was in on the action, super cool to see. We will definitely be back soon
Noice level is high in Outside dinning
Perfect dinner with family friends. Casual yet trendy. Great Thai food! Good alcohol options. We’ll definitely return.
Very authentic Thai food with dishes not found elsewhere in Houston. I lived in Thailand for 2 years and can tell you that this place is the real deal!
We love Thai food and have been looking for a good restaurant close to home. We have found it.
