Great meal for our anniversary. Attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff.
Great service! Excellent steaks!
I took my son there for lunch. We both decided it was one of the best lunches either of us had ever had
Waiter recommended the carrot cake. Said it had been life changing for some. It was amazing! A unique twist on carrot cake. We will definitely be back.
Another outstanding meal that our guests was talking about the next morning! Way to go STQ
This is my fifth visit. I always recall what I like, forget what I don't. The protein at Killen's is excellent quality and prepared perfectly. This is what draws me back. The other dishes are hit and miss. The side dish vegetables can be markedly salty to the point where the table doesn't eat much of them. On this visit the green beans and mushrooms were too salty and not much eaten by anyone. Other side dishes are very good. We did not have dessert on this visit.
Service was excellent. Good twists on drinks and entrees. The smoked Vidalia onion soup was crazy good. Lobster Mac and cheese and smoked brisket Raghu were excellent. Nice evening out.
We had the Wagyu filet with truffle butter, a regular filet, and a chicken fried ribeye. We had an order of biscuits, the lobster mac & cheese, and some other sides and appetizers. We had a few drinks. Our bill came to over $400, pretty overpriced for the quality and service. I had asked the waiter if the butter had shaved truffles and he said that he watched the chef do that. If it had shaved truffles, the shavings had turned to tiny bits. The butter still was cold when the steak came out so it was a large, somewhat cold clump. The lobster mac & cheese was excellent as were the biscuits. But, my lower than average rating primarily comes from the waiter's attitude. He was surly and condescending. He interrupted us when we tried to ask questions (even said, if you will let me finish). When my husband kidded about being with 3 women, he said that where he came from that is called a pimp. He said something to which my husband responded "wait until you get my age." Then, the waiter said, "well I'll not be doing this when I get that old." Lastly, I got my drink order wrong and although, he corrected it, he did not apologize. If we ever go back, I definitely will avoid having him serve us.
Killen’s BBQ in Pearland is my favorite restaurant and my wife and I wanted to try STQ for our anniversary. It was awesome and we will definitely be back for the 3 course lunch again!!
Excellent food and service.
The pork belly and the bread pudding tres leches with bacon is a must!
Great meal and good cocktails. They need to find a bartender so the waiter can be more attentive and timely.
Great service and quality food. Little noisy probably because of the size of the dining area
Had a great dinner at STQ with my daughters. Steaks, Brisket Ragu and some sides. Lobstah mac n cheese was awesome.
Smoked chocolate cake ‘under glass’ for dessert is a winner! Great presentation on all.
Great service and great food!
Delightful cocktail and wine list with a number of by-the-glass choices. The menu offers something for everyone, and the food is excellent. Service was impeccable, and our waiter, Anthony, was spot-on with his recommendations. Can't wait to go back!
Great beef short rib!
We went for our 8th wedding anniversary with our two children (7 and 4)
This was our first time at this particular Killeen’s location we used to live in Pearland so we used to go to Killen‘s Steakhouse location out there for our anniversary yearly so it was nice to have a new spot to go to closer to our home with the same great menu items as the original steakhouse location. Our server was great and attentive and a nice card was on our table thanking us for celebrating with them. We got the pork belly as an appetizer and it was delicious. Everything we had was a amazing but you can’t go to a Killens location without trying their amazing carrot cake! Thanks for another great experience
Honestly this was one of the best steak meals we have had in Houston! Our waiter, Michael, was amazing and recommended the perfect meal. This was so much better than the tried and true steakhouses that Houston is known for. Don't get me wrong, those places [nameless for the review] are good, but STQ is spectacular and way less stuffy and formal. I recommend everyone try STQ - you won't be disappointed!
We went for lunch last week. Overall a casual laid back vibe. Got the 3 course business lunch. Chose the short rib tamale for appetitizer. Good smoky flavor but temperature was cooler than i prefer, kind of lukewarm. 4/5
The smoked beef filet entree was ok. Beef precut into chunks cooked to order. Temp was also a little cooler than i prefer. The flavor was not very smoky, contrary to the name of the dish. 3.5/5
Carrot cake for dessert was served piping hot, which i loved. Very moist, consistency similar to bread pudding, certainly different from any other carrot cake I’ve had before. Pretty good flavor overall, 4.5/5.
Fabulous time at Killens STQ. Seated right away and excellent service throughout! Shout out to Anthony who helped us choose THE best cocktails and food and for taking such good care of us! The steaks and short ribs were fantastic! The Killins old fashion was our fave cocktail! Save room for the warm carrot cake! Making plans to come back soon!
The food and service was excellent. The restaurant has a very upscale but homey vibe. Well worth the visit.
Wife and I went to STQ to celebrate her b-day. Being a Wed night, it was not really that busy, so we had a nice, relaxing meal. Waitstaff was really good and so were the filets, although they could have been hotter temp-wise. My oyster appetizer was good but not great. Dessert was really good and they did put a candle in the pie, but unlike some restaurants, it was not a comp. Still, this is the first time we went to this place even though we live pretty close. We'll go back.
The food is simply outstanding. The Grilled Oysters, Habanero/Cherry Burnt Ends fantastic. Highly recommend the Tomahawk Pork Chop
Used to, wont any more.
Waiter was arrogant.
Food was not good.
We recently went to Killen's for my wife's birthday and we both enjoyed it. We literally needed to be rolled out of there because we were stuffed.
Portions were huge, and very tasty. She had the chicken thighs and I had the c.f. ribeye. Both were exceptional. The appetizers were great as well (pork belly & oysters). For dessert she had the creme brulee cheesecake and I had the bacon tres leche bread pudding. Both were out of this world good.
We will definitely be going back and bringing friends. Loved it. Also the service (Elizabeth) was great, and she was very helpful in is choosing our dishes. Very appreciative of her as well.
Food is top notch, professional staff, good job overall , I would not hesitate to visit again.
Great food... correct that.... GREAT food and excellent service.
The food and service was awesome. Highly recommend. This is my third time for dinner and they have been consistently good.
A close 2nd place to steak 48. Both 48 and stq in a league of their own
As good a steak as I’ve had anywhere, but appetizers and sides really make this place special.
Service was great. We shared the (giant) short rib and a ribeye - both were outstanding.
The beef rib is amazing!!!! Don’t order the oysters- fishy (not fresh). Everything else is delicious. The prime rib special and potato au gratin are some of the best in Houston. The carrot cake is wonderful and I don’t even like carrot cake.
It was as we hoped s small not too noisy therefore will go back
We treated my dad to a special lunch. Impeccable service. Food was incredible. Pork belly. Tamale. Fish. Salad. Carrot cake. Tres leches. Coffee. Beautiful presentation.
Loved the “casual Texas style” plus fine dining and impeccable service this offers.
Every single bite was wonderful!
LOVE this little gem of a restaurant! All the food is delicious and the staff is terrific! Adding shrimp, lobster, and chicken fried chicken to the menu would be wonderful - and more specials since we've had practically everything on the menu. And although his ginormous onion rings are divine, a stack of shoestring onions would be even better as well as an avocado, arugula & ruby red grapefruit salad !
Great octopus, plus a light, unusual compressed watermelon salad. Short ribs looked impressive and huge but had an inordinate amount of fat -- too much. Loud but friendly, upscale atmosphere. Service was attentive but with a bit too much attitude. We were trying to do keto. The waiter was visibly disappointed and suggested that we should give it a break every now and then. I ended up feeling uncomfortable.
My wife and I typically frequent Papa’s steakhouse whenever we feel like having a great steak meal at a fantastic steakhouse. I enjoy trying new things and we are so glad we did! The food was extremely tasty, inventive, and exceeded our expectations. The crust on the steak was absolutely out of this world and contained a taste that blew my palate away! The restaurant has a small but intimate setting. For me, I would rather venture to Killeen STQ any day over any steakhouse in Houston.
We had a great time for my husband’s birthday. We split everything we ordered and loved it all. Pork belly, Gouda Mac and cheese, dry aged steak. Nothing disappointed! Great date night.
As always, the place is beautiful, the service was great and when the servers tell you about the carrot cake, believe the hype. I don’t even like carrot cake, it was spectacular.
