My pork plate was great except for the green beans which were undercooked for my liking. My husband's pork ribs were smaller than usual, dry and overcooked. He was disappointed.
Great food, fast and friendly service. It was pretty noisy, but that was the only complaint I had.
Pork chop and side dishes were amazing. Hamburger was well over cooked. They fixed the Hamburg quickly. Wait staff was friendly. Hostess was not so friendly. It’s loud inside but the food is worth it!!! Make a reservation for dinner or don’t plan on getting in.
Our table had a variety of items. Brisket - which was extremely tender and delicious, creamed corn - yummy, coleslaw - meh, I hoped it was the crunchy slaw I'd had before, mac & cheese - gooey and good, Koreans ribs - my fav, boudain balls - meh, jerk wings - not my fav and not a wing person. Grandson had the chicken fired ribeye that he loved. The cream brulee cheesecake was devine. The banana pudding was a disappointment. I wanted the southern warm banana pudding with a toasted meringue topping and yellow custard pudding like my mom made. Overall, the food is very good and I will be back. I know now what to pick. Loved, loved that we could get dinner reservations. Standing in line for a long time is not how I want to spend my time and my husband refused to go before they started reservations.
The side dishes are almost as good as the meat selections. We also tried the queso dip. Awesome meal.
The beef rib was awesome. Wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Food is great!!
Once again, Ronnie's BBQ spot did not disappoint. My wife wanted a steak. I talked her into the beef rib because she had not yet experienced it and there are plenty of places to get a good steak. Only one place to get a Killen's beef rib. She absolutely loved it! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but that beef rib....
The meat here is so good, you do not even need to bother with the barbecue sauce. We also really enjoyed the green beans, cole slaw, and mac and cheese. Top it off with carrot cake and you have a fabulous meal. The noise level was a bit much but the service was great. My out of town visitor loved the place.
Killens is one of the top BBQ locations in the Houston area and arguably beyond. Being able to make a reservation in the evenings is a great addition to the Killens service.
Everything was delicious. We had the ribs, moist brisket and jalapeño sausage with mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and corn. Very flavorful.
Would have been better if our order wasn’t lost behind a bunch of tables who were seated long after we were. Don’t think our server was all that top notch.
Great overall. Glad we made a reservation. We enjoyed our experience.
Food was awesome! Great taste and wonderful service. Will definitely be back next time in the area. Visited Killen’s Burger the next day which also had great tasting Burgers!!
Malia was an amazing waitress! And the food was excellent. Get the bread pudding and the pork belly. So. Good.
As always, everything we ordered was delicious. Service was great. It's always a treat to eat at this restaurant.
Food was excellent with large portion sizes, service was good but noise level is very high.
As always they never disappoint. The food is outstanding.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the food was good, but it was so noisy we couldn’t have a reasonable conversation. I wouldn’t choose to come here for a special occasion like an anniversary.
We both had the filet with bake potato and a side (we both had green beans). Steak practically melted in my mouth! We finished off the meal by splitting the banana pudding. Fantastic!! Definitely a big enough portion to split. Our waitress was attentive but did not hover or pester us.
The reservation process was smooth, and we got our table a little sooner than expected. The noise level in the dining room is extreme. You can’t have a conversation. The food was much more high-priced than other BBQ restaurants. I ordered the pork ribs and my wife ordered the moist brisket. She got potato salad and cream corn and I got potato salad and green beans. She said the corn was excellent, and the we both thought the potato salad was very good. The green beans were more like you would get at a high-end restaurant and were very good also. The pork ribs were large and very tasty. My wife’s moist brisket, though, looked like it had been sitting around the kitchen for a while. It did not look at all freshly cut and she couldn’t finish it. We ended up giving it to her dad’s dog because she deemed it unfit for humans. That was extremely disappointing considering the prices. Overall, we will not be going back. The value for the money is poor and we don’t like restaurants that are that loud. Maybe if you like takeout BBQ, this is your place, but eating in is not a great experience. I don’t know if the brisket was an anomaly, but I can’t say as that has ever happened to me at another BBQ restaurant.
Food was awesome and the service was exemplary. Make sure to make a reservation.
Wonderful dinner! Meats were tender and flavorful. We had two small kids in tow and they were super patient and accommodating, even when we had a spill! Everyone, not just our server, was so nice and willing to make our experience a good one. Food came out quick too. Excellent drink selection.
The food was amazing and the service was too. Staff was friendly and accommodating
Food was poor quality. Glob of fat in the taco. Chunks of lettuce core in salad. Taste was average bbq. I won’t go back. Too many other better restaurants in the area.
My sticky ribs were cold and not fresh. My beef rib was burnt and it was a very small portion for $22. Was not impressed with the food and disappointed with my experience.
It must have been an off night for the chef. The steaks had no flavor at all 16 oz ribeye. The fried catfish and hushpuppies where fried hard and greasy. The service was great as always. We love Killen's...but tonight was definitely an off night. Felt bad since it was a birthday celebration.
Great beef ribs! Made a special trip out of the way by about 40 miles for the place. Well worth it!
All the food was amazing. The catfish and shrimp platter was outstanding, and I don't even have words for how delicious the hushpuppies are. Our waitress was awesome!
it was so loud it was difficult to enjoy the food. We could not talk to our guest
. since we had dinner reservations, we thought it would be a relaxing setting
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE COMING HERE!
THANK YOU FOR GREAT SERVICE, AMAZING FOOD, AND SPEEDY FAST SERVICE.
MY FOOD CAME OUT HOT AND DELICIOUS NO BAD DAY HERE SINCE COMING.
Great food, love this place. Staff is great and really quick service.
Killen's is world-class Texas BBQ. The beef ribs are something special. I normally love to eat pork ribs. I love pork ribs. Killen's pork ribs are great. BUT....the beef ribs are special. Never had anything like them. The brisket is very good. I love the peppery rub. All the sides are superb. Many BBQ places have mediocre sides. Not Killen's the sides stand toe to toe with the meats.
Go to Killen's and try a little of everything. It's not cheap. I heard that all the beef is USDA Prime. It's worth it.
Barbecue is excellent, but service at the restaurant is average. Beer was served warm, appetizer (pulled pork nachos was less than impressive). Will pick up order to go and eat at home next time, if we ever make 2 hr round trip drive again. The manager was sure to greet table next to us (apparently they had a bad experience and was giving restaurant another try), but he walked right past us. No one said goodbye as we left. Just average service that does not match the excellent BBQ. Order to go, you’ll be less disappointed.
The food is always great. We got the brisket enchiladas which were delicious but we were only served 2 instead of the three that the menu said.
No line when you reserve a table! Food was perfect, waiter was horrible, but with a good server I would return
Main course was great. The sides were mediocre. prices were to high for what you get. Great service.
I found Killen’s Barbeque when looking for good restaurants in Houston. After making the trip to Pearland, we went to Killen’s. The service and the atmosphere were wonderful. It was recommended to us to make reservations for dinner service, which was a wise choice. Everything from our appetizers (queso dip with brisket) to our entrees and dessert was delicious. The beef ribs, brisket, and pulled pork were all wonderfully smoky. Would highly recommend!
Highly recommended! Definitely stands out from all the barbecue restaurants in the area.
The wood was fantastic! Our favorites were the pork belly burnt ends and the beer rib. The service was excellent and it could not have been better. We will be back.
