We love tapas..so we tried Kika. The location in Kendall Square is fun and energizing. The seating is super comfy. The staff very friendly. The food was very good. Favorites: The Lamb Meatballs in Truffle Cream sauce, The croquettes of the day(chorizo), and the vegetable and goat cheese stuffed eggplant rolls. Would recommend this restaurant.
Service and ambiance was unreal. I chose this place for a date night per its connection with Solea Tapas in Waltham on Moody St, and although it doesn't have the same, authentic Spanish style, it was a wonderful experience.
We will be visiting this restaurant again.
Food is ok, not special. Servers are not very polite.
Went there for my birthday dinner which was noted in my reservation but they did not even acknowledge my birthday. Nothing special provided for my birthday; no candle, no happy bday greeting, nothing. Food was just ok. Waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu. The seafood fideos was literally plain spaghetti from a box with seafood for $38! Not something you'd expect to get from a tapas place.
Dine out menu! Fun experience!!
I loved the food and the atmosphere! The tapas were really great and very filling. The sangria was awesome too!
Hosted a low key birthday dinner and very much enjoyed ourselves.
The food was definitely the highlight, with very tasty dishes for most palettes and diets. We had about a dozen tapas, from grilled artichokes to beef empanadas. Everything was tasty!
The decor and atmosphere are also fun, with nods to Pedro Almodovar throughout.
👍 it was good
Overall, it was a good experience. The server was very pushy and got annoyed when we weren’t ready to order, and seemed like he was trying to get us out the door quickly - even though we were literally the only people in the restaurant. The food was good and came out quickly, and the sangria was great.
The service was nil expect for the host. Generally, the food below average when compared to their other restaurant.
Good vegitarianh and novegitarian o
We had a very lovely evening. The food was beyond delicious. A must go back
It was cozy, quiet enough for good conversation, but lively. The food and wine we had was great, the service excellent, the atmosphere not rushed.
I've gone to Kika several times for quick and tasty business lunches. This time, the whole restaurant smelled bad--like sulphur. I'm not sure if it was sewage or hard boiled eggs? I hoped for the latter as I chose to not relocate our quick business lunch. Our server didn't acknowledge a single one of us as we said hello and thank you for the waters. She barely found it possible to talk to us throughout the meal. I'm going to move on to a different go-to place for my business lunches.
Great experience as always! Great food and drinks. Friendly staff and easy going ambiance. Strongly recommend this place for tapas.
We had a great time, very nice place good service
Loved the food options - first time, will definitely be back!
Sadly the first 3 items I ordered from the menu were not available
The stuffed eggplant had an excessive amount of garlic and was served in a bland tomato sauce tasting as if poured from a store brought can. Similarly the batatas bravas were bland and dunked with hot sauce.
My wife and I had a nice meal. Sharing tapas was enjoyable. Patatas bravas, crabmeat timbale, eggplant dish and shrimp with garlic were tasty and filling. Service was good; portions were ample and the atmosphere was nice. A nice Spanish dining experience in Cambridge!
Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The menu was full of great options. Unfortunately they did not have one of the tapas that I wanted to try but overall the food was excellent. Great service. I recommend that you try one of their “Almodóvar inspired cocktails”. I hat the Patty Diffusa and it was excellent!
Everything was very tasty and fast. Roasted potatoes, grilled artichokes , tenderloin in Chimmachura, lamb chops, lamp albondigas. I will be going there again!
There are four restaurants, shoulder to shoulder, in this nice quiet side street in Kendall Square. In my mind, Kika is the best for lunch, given its variety and good hot food. It is not frufru, and thankfully more substantial than sandwiches or pizza.
I am never disappointed! Their sangria is the best ever, with a new fall apple flavor. Their steak is probably the best kept secret in Cambridge-a great steak at a Tapas restaurant. All of their small plates are delightful!
Great location with garage and street parking nearby. Great atmosphere and great food. Had about 8 different Tapas and they were all delicious. Paella was also very good. Had several deserts which were also delicious.
When I lived near Cambridge, which ended in late 2015, I really liked this restaurant. So on my recent visit (November 2017), I went there with a colleague. It was good, but only two of tapas,
Duck Leg and Eggplant Rolls, were excellent.
One of out favorite tapas places! Great food and a super nice staff!
I’m hesitant to share my true feelings about this hidden gem for fear the next time I want to go I won’t be able to get a table, but others deserve to enjoy this fun, lively restaurant serving up authentic Spanish tapas (and doing it well), so I will risk it!
Nice little find. Good atmosphere and lots to chose from on the menu. Great Sangria. Good friendly service. Would definitely go back.
Food was lacking flavor all around. Was dismayed that gratuity added to tab without informing me because we chose to eat on the patio. Nothing on the menu about this; we were only 4 people.
Really liked the duck with berry sauce and clams in white wine sauce. Shared 5 dishes amongst 2 adults and 2 little kids. Just the right amount, no leftovers! Can't wait to try the Paella next time, it takes 20-25 mins so we didn't want to wait with 2 hungry kids 😀.
While the food was truly excellent, I have never had such poor service. Not once did the waitress check in without one of our group members going to get her. In addition, we were seated in a mostly empty restaurant next to a larger group that was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other speak. The outside looked to be having fun, but on the inside, we did not.
I didn't even know that this area of restaurants with outdoor seating existed, except that I saw Kika named as a restaurant participating in Restaurant Week. We wanted to try something new for Restaurant Week and so selected Kika. I definitely recommend it and especially want to recommend all that great outdoor seating. That is rare in metro Boston.
Food was average and mediocre. I wouldn't say the food is bad, but there was nothing special about the tapas. I didn't realize that Tapeo in Back Bay was a sister restaurant and I remember the food AND service at Tapeo being better. The service at this place could be a little friendlier.
Great service. Authentic Tapas. Recommend the ceviche and white sparkling sangria. I would eat here again
Decent service, nice outdoor seating, but man was the food salty...
Not only was the food delicious and varied, but the staff and owners could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously.
The tapas items we ordered were really excellent. We tried the following items: ceviche, the beet/garbanzo salad, patata bravas, the grilled artichokes, the mussels in broth, eggplant roll, and the brazilian cheese bread. The salad was exquisitely flavored, the mussels and the broth they were in were excellent, the eggplant roll was done perfectly so that the texture was maintained. The star of the collection was the artichoke dish with garlic and olive oil which was really outstanding. The brazilian cheese bread also was very good. The patata bravas was as good as I have had elsewhere. The only dish that disappointed some was the ceviche which was not quite distinctive in flavor and the mix of seafood in it somewhat meagre with shrimp being the dominant component, having little else and especially no scallops. The service was acceptable but given that it was somewhat empty at lunch time, we still had a tough time getting the attention of our waitress, suggesting that even for the somewhat lean period, they might have been understaffed, or less attentive. Go for the food which is very good, the prices are a little on the high side relative to competing tapas places in the Boston area and the service has room for improvement.
The steak was more fat than anything else. Other choices were boring.
Kika Tapas has a great location (near canal-Kendall) but could sharpen its menu so that there are some really exciting offerings. It's good but just not where it could be!
