There are four restaurants, shoulder to shoulder, in this nice quiet side street in Kendall Square. In my mind, Kika is the best for lunch, given its variety and good hot food. It is not frufru, and thankfully more substantial than sandwiches or pizza.

I am never disappointed! Their sangria is the best ever, with a new fall apple flavor. Their steak is probably the best kept secret in Cambridge-a great steak at a Tapas restaurant. All of their small plates are delightful!

Great location with garage and street parking nearby. Great atmosphere and great food. Had about 8 different Tapas and they were all delicious. Paella was also very good. Had several deserts which were also delicious.

When I lived near Cambridge, which ended in late 2015, I really liked this restaurant. So on my recent visit (November 2017), I went there with a colleague. It was good, but only two of tapas,
Duck Leg and Eggplant Rolls, were excellent.

Food was lacking flavor all around. Was dismayed that gratuity added to tab without informing me because we chose to eat on the patio. Nothing on the menu about this; we were only 4 people.

Really liked the duck with berry sauce and clams in white wine sauce. Shared 5 dishes amongst 2 adults and 2 little kids. Just the right amount, no leftovers! Can't wait to try the Paella next time, it takes 20-25 mins so we didn't want to wait with 2 hungry kids 😀.

While the food was truly excellent, I have never had such poor service. Not once did the waitress check in without one of our group members going to get her. In addition, we were seated in a mostly empty restaurant next to a larger group that was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other speak. The outside looked to be having fun, but on the inside, we did not.

I didn't even know that this area of restaurants with outdoor seating existed, except that I saw Kika named as a restaurant participating in Restaurant Week. We wanted to try something new for Restaurant Week and so selected Kika. I definitely recommend it and especially want to recommend all that great outdoor seating. That is rare in metro Boston.

Food was average and mediocre. I wouldn't say the food is bad, but there was nothing special about the tapas. I didn't realize that Tapeo in Back Bay was a sister restaurant and I remember the food AND service at Tapeo being better. The service at this place could be a little friendlier.

The tapas items we ordered were really excellent. We tried the following items: ceviche, the beet/garbanzo salad, patata bravas, the grilled artichokes, the mussels in broth, eggplant roll, and the brazilian cheese bread. The salad was exquisitely flavored, the mussels and the broth they were in were excellent, the eggplant roll was done perfectly so that the texture was maintained. The star of the collection was the artichoke dish with garlic and olive oil which was really outstanding. The brazilian cheese bread also was very good. The patata bravas was as good as I have had elsewhere. The only dish that disappointed some was the ceviche which was not quite distinctive in flavor and the mix of seafood in it somewhat meagre with shrimp being the dominant component, having little else and especially no scallops. The service was acceptable but given that it was somewhat empty at lunch time, we still had a tough time getting the attention of our waitress, suggesting that even for the somewhat lean period, they might have been understaffed, or less attentive. Go for the food which is very good, the prices are a little on the high side relative to competing tapas places in the Boston area and the service has room for improvement.

Kika Tapas has a great location (near canal-Kendall) but could sharpen its menu so that there are some really exciting offerings. It's good but just not where it could be!

I chose Kika Tapas for a Sunday date because of the small plates, since my wife and I already had a big lunch earlier in the day.

The tapas were excellent. The sangria was perfect. I recommend the sauteed artichokes and the empanadas. We shared an excellent dulce de leche crepe with berries as dessert.

Maybe the price of the tapas should be adjusted a little because the final bill was a little higher than what I was expecting for small plates.

Vibrant lunchtime location near Kendall sq. Food is excellent and a they have a good variety of tapas. If you like sangria you will love Kikas. Good for lunch and dinner. If the weather is good the outside seating is good for people watching.

The food is excellent. It is just unfortunate that the system through Open table let you book a table but once you arrive they refuse to give you a table if all the hosts are not here. I had to wait for my friend outside in front of the restaurant. In addition of the very poor welcoming experience they overcharged my card and I had to call my bank to fix it...really non acceptable !!!

We had lunch a few days earlier and tried several tapas, all really really good. Then we went back for dinner and the steak-just unbelievable, also tried the white and red berry sangria, both excellent. Service and hospitality second to none. My new favorite place in Cambridge!

First tried this restaurant during Restaurant Week. I was so impressed that I went back with some friends who were kind of fussy eaters. They enjoyed everything as muc h as I did. I particularly liked that the waitress really took the time to answer questions, and to provide separate checks for 4 people!

Some friends and I went to Tapas to try their restaurant menu. We all ordered different things, but everyone was happy. The portions appeared to be a bit small, but that was only appearance, as there was plenty of food for everyone.

My personal favorites were the Lamb Meatballs, and of course the churros with that magnificent chocolate sauce.

The food was authentic tapas - small plates and delicious. We were there for Dine Out Boston and loved the Tasting menu. The Short Ribs were outstanding, as was the Duck in Berry Sauce, but we enjoyed all 12 plates we were served. We also tried a couple of pitchers of Sangria, both were good, but the consensus is the White Sangria was the better choice - tropical and fresh.

Service was impeccable. Out waiter was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. Out table was a bit crowded with all the small plates, so I was thrilled that he was paying enough attention to remove the dishes as they emptied, to give us more room. The only negative of the whole meal, was the churros - they were too crisp and crumbly, more like a crispy breadstick than a donut. But the flan and chocolate cake were delicious.

I dined at Kika Tapas last night and really enjoyed the experience.

I was looking for an affordable place in Cambridge since my mom and I live in Boston and Somerville and Kika Tapas seemed like an interesting new find. The area it's located in is a little odd and there weren't many diners at any of the restaurants in the plaza area. This might also have been because it was freezing cold out and no one was walking around looking for places to eat.

We were seated right away and greeted by our pleasant waitress. Drinks came extremely fast (good Sangria!) and we decided to order a variety of dishes including the patatas bravas, shrimp, chorizo, mussels, lamb and tortilla Espanola. We started to order a side of bread but our waitress warned us that two dishes came with bread which was much appreciated. Everything was cooked well, but more importantly it was paced nicely. We received two dishes at a time and she made sure the two dishes with bread sides didn't come out at once. We ended with the churros and chocolate - delicious!

I'll be honest - I've had better and more innovative Tapas and I can't give this place five stars because a couple of the dishes (the lamb and chorizo) could have definitely been seasoned differently and been more innovative. But for the price point, great service and convenient location, this place is definitely worth trying if you're in the area.

Simply amazing! A great experience from beginning to end. They took us an hour earlier than our reservation without so much as a blink. Our waitress was informative, polite and funny, the food was delicious and service was very fast. There was a social club gathering in the bar but the staff did not fail to make us feel well cared for and important. They even brought out a candle when they heard it was my wife's birthday. Highly recommend Kika to anyone looking for a little adventure, good food and fun.
