Logan Square is home to our second Kie-Gol-Lanee location with the first one being in the Uptown neighborhood, recognized by the Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2020.

Kie-Gol-Lanee is a family owned restaurant, ran and operated by the Mendoza Ramos family since 2016. “Kie Gol Lanee” is the phonetic spelling of “Quiegoloani” and the name of the small village in Oaxaca, Mexico where we are from: Santa Maria Quiegolani, which means “piedra antigua” in our Zapotec language.

We take pride in offering a dining experience that connects you with our rich Oaxacan culture. Each recipe comes from our grandparents and parents with a touch of our own flavor inspired by watching them cook while growing up. We've have been fortunate to be recognized by the Michelin Guide, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Magazine among others, but our highest recognition comes when our client smiles and nods after taking the first bite. Kie Goh Lanee has an amazing menu and very cool vibe. We sat outside for Sunday brunch. Great service, excellent food. Plan to go back for dinner. Highly recommend.

We loved this restaurant. It was too cold to eat outside, but there is nice, quiet sidewalk seating. My husband had chicken, pork and mushroom tamales which were great and I had the Sopa al Mar, which was amazing.

The food and drinks were insanely good. We went for brunch and every dish we ordered was outstanding! The restaurant was welcoming and not too busy, also has a cute patio. Would definitely recommend it.

Although I knew the food would be delicious, as I have enjoyed it at their OG Sheridan Rd location, the level of noise here made it difficult to enjoy my dinner. Conversation was nearly impossible.

Took my mom out for the day, and this was our first visit here. The server and busser were very nice and patient with us. They provided us with some samples, and everyone was very friendly. Cute and casual spot with great service, great food and drinks. I loved it and can't wait to come back to try more.

This was our first visit and we went for their weekend brunch. Had the Brunn Margarita with mezcal. The mezcal and rim's smoked salt give the drink a distinct smoky flavor, but the prickly pear and lime work to even out the flavors. Choose a tequila, if you prefer less smoke. The Dos Tamales Divorciados were excellent. Melt in your mouth tamales with well done moles. The Chilaquiles were very good, solid salsa verde. We had the Tres Leches French Toast plain, but it was still moist and delicious. The servers and food runners were attentive, friendly and efficient. We'll be back to try out dinner sometime soon.
