Taking guests on a culinary adventure to Japan, KIBOU Japanese restaurant and bar in Solihull is a feast for all the senses, and one of Birmingham’s hottest new venues for contemporary Japanese food and drink.

Situated on Solihull high street, we’re a beautifully transformed Grade II listed restaurant that oozes glamour and design aesthetics. Golden Japanese acers add a vibrant colour throughout our design, enhanced by bold frieze panel murals and projector animations depicting iconic Asian street scenes.

Grab a drink in the opulent, marble decked cocktail bar, watch our sushi maestros at work from the open sushi kitchen, or enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner in our luxurious and spacious restaurant.

    Japanese set menu in Solihull that fits perfectly into your lunch break, shopping trip or theatre visit. Featuring some of our best-loved dishes, the menu is presented as a two or three-course option, and is available for bookings or walk-ins every Monday to Friday from 12pm to 6pm 2-COURSES £18.95 3- COURSES £22.95 Expect to find starters such as chef’s choice of handmade nigiri, succulent chicken karaage or crispy vegan pumpkin croquettes. Popular mains, including chicken or pumpkin katsu curry, rich pork or tofu ramen or a sushi platter for one. Plus tempting desserts, including Japan’s favourite mochi ice cream or delicious mini cinnamon and apple dumplings. (menu subject to change)

  • Bottomless Sushi

    PLEASE NOTE: This experience must be booked 24 hours in advance. A fresh take on “Bottomless” with bottomless sushi! Features a selection of Japanese hot small plates to share, plus an unlimited assortment of house nigiri, maki and California rolls. Expect to find dishes such as Japanese street food favourite, Takoyaki (crispy batter balls with a small piece of octopus in the centre) and salmon and avocado uramaki, avocado nigiri and KIBOU’s much-loved signature sushi roll, the Volcano, a tempura-battered futomaki filled with salmon, avocado, and tobiko, and drizzled with our own special sauces! Priced at just £34 per person, the menu can also be enjoyed with an unlimited drinks package that includes a selection of Japanese-inspired mimosa (Yuzu or Cherry & Elderflower), Kirin Ichiban lager, prosecco, or house wine for an additional £21 per person. For a non-alcoholic alternative, you can opt for KIBOU’s favourite Rhubarb & Jasmine Fizz along with house sodas for just £15 per person. Bottomless Sushi is available for bookings only and is restricted to a 90-minute session per person. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available on request.

    PLEASE NOTE: This experience must be booked 48 hours in advance. Beautifully presented 3-tiered Japanese-inspired afternoon tea, featuring tasters of some of our most popular dishes alongside other traditional Japanese sweets. Dive into classics such as tempura prawn California roll, salmon tataki with mango salsa and sea bream nigiri, followed by decadent shichimi chocolate tart, cinnamon & apple gyoza and traditional custard dorayaki with strawberry compôte. Priced at £23 per person - served with a choice of Japanese teas and infusions as standard – such as delicately fragrant jasmine or the sweet and nutty notes of genmaicha – green tea with toasted brown rice. Or why not explore our range of additional drinks packages.

    Been to Kibou several times now, and as always, the food is exceptional. I had a selection of sushi (various plates of sashimi, nigiri, tataki), plus a couple of the bluefin tuna specials. Has to be the best tuna I've ever had! The kimchi is also delicious. Wife had yasai katsu which she said was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, great service. 11/10 (bluefin blew me away!) We'll be back again soon to try the new menu 😀

    We went for afternoon tea which was delicious. There was a good selection of sushi and cakes and different teas to choose from. The staff were great. Due to traffic problems, we were going to be late and when we phoned to tell them, they moved our reservation back by 15 minutes to give us time to get there. They were attentive when we needed them and left us to enjoy our food and conversation.

    We were celebrating my Husband's Birthday with our Daughter and a couple of friends. Our Daughter is passionate about Japanese food so we let her order a selection of food for us all. The service was impecable and the food was just superb, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and will definitely be back soon!

    First time here very impressed with menu, service and cost . Will definitely return. Only downside was they hadn’t checked me in so continued to ring me when I was dining- however apologised they called me 3 times !

    This was my second visit to Kibou in Solihull and was equally as good an experience as my first a week or two ago. The food is outstanding, beautifully prepared and served making it a joy to lunch there. I would recommend Kibou to anyone, particularly if they have not tried a Japanese restaurant before as their excellent staff are on hand to explain everything you need to know.
