Located in Clifton Village, KIBOU brings a slice of Tokyo-chic to this popular neighbourhood of Bristol. A haven for any sushi or ramen lover, the restaurant is know for it's vibrant and quirky interiors, Japanese-inspired murals, and eye-catching display of red Japanese acers. Featuring an extensive menu of classic and contemporary Japanese hot food and sushi, plus a decadent range of weekly changing specials, dive into Instagram-worthy platters of sushi and sashimi, the crispest of tempura, rich katsu curry, pillowy bao buns and the most soulful of ramen. They also serve a fabulous Japanese-inspired afternoon tea and run a Bottomless Sushi session on Saturdays. Add to this a range of signature and classic cocktails - The KIBOU is a must try - sake tasting flights, Japanese whisky and Japanese brewed beers, and your visit to KIBOU in Clifton is complete!

    Teishoku is a traditional Japanese set meal comprising of a: Main plate + Sides + Rice + Soup At KIBOU, our lunchtime Teishoko menu includes classics such as prawn tempura, chicken teriyaki or veggie katsu curry. Served with a bowl of furikake rice, edamame beans, pickles, yamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), goma wakame, and a bowl of homemade miso soup. Available Monday to Friday from 12pm to 3.30pm - for just £16.90.

  • Bottomless Sushi

    PLEASE NOTE: This experience must be booked 24 hours in advance. A fresh take on “Bottomless” with bottomless sushi! Features a selection of Japanese hot small plates to share, plus an unlimited assortment of house nigiri, maki and California rolls. Expect to find dishes such as Japanese street food favourite, Takoyaki (crispy batter balls with a small piece of octopus in the centre) and salmon and avocado uramaki, avocado nigiri and KIBOU’s much-loved signature sushi roll, the Volcano, a tempura-battered futomaki filled with salmon, avocado, and tobiko, and drizzled with our own special sauces! Priced at just £34 per person, the menu can also be enjoyed with an unlimited drinks package that includes a selection of Japanese-inspired mimosa (Yuzu or Cherry & Elderflower), Kirin Ichiban lager, prosecco, or house wine for an additional £21 per person. For a non-alcoholic alternative, you can opt for KIBOU’s favourite Rhubarb & Jasmine Fizz along with house sodas for just £15 per person. Bottomless Sushi is available for bookings only and is restricted to a 90-minute session per person. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available on request.

Beautifully presented 3-tiered Japanese-inspired afternoon tea, featuring tasters of some of our most popular dishes alongside other traditional Japanese sweets. Dive into classics such as tempura prawn California roll, salmon tataki with mango salsa and sea bream nigiri, followed by decadent shichimi chocolate tart, cinnamon & apple gyoza and traditional custard dorayaki with strawberry compôte. Priced at £23 per person - served with a choice of Japanese teas and infusions as standard – such as delicately fragrant jasmine or the sweet and nutty notes of genmaicha – green tea with toasted brown rice. Or why not explore our range of additional drinks packages.

    Food choice and quantity excellent. Service and ambience perfect. We live in Geneva but fortunately our daughter is at university in Bristol so a great excuse to visit.

    Great food, buzzy atmosphere and brilliant service! The tuna tataki was melt in the mouth delicious and the bao buns light and fluffy. The aubergine small plate was also delicious as was the Yasai Ramen my daughter had and was full of flavour. The service was well paced and overall I thought it was great value. Already planning our next visit!

    Kibou is the best Japanese restaurant that I've tried in UK. The food, service and ambience in Kibou Clifton all is amazing. I especially like wagyu nigiri and hojichan creme brulee. I'll visit agian!

    The only fault is that there is always very loud music which then makes everyone shout so it can be stressful and difficult to hear if you are out as a couple. Also we didn’t get any love hearts!!!
