    I came here 8 years ago during my previous NY visit when the place was still in its early days and on returning I was glad to see they are still doing well. Food was great and the tamarind ginger soda was a nice touch. The kitchen closes around 9 so best to get there earlier and have more time as we had to keep an eye on the clock near the end

    Surprisingly disappointing experience for the last of 5 nights eating our way through NYC. The “flavors”/seasoning of food were good so first but had potential….but then. Our party of three had the pork belly wraps and the Chile chicken. But the chicken was dry. And the skin on the pork belly had been cooked a little too long it had moved from the crackle stage to hard/not breakable-with-teeth stage. The “pork” section of the belly was either 50-75% fat. The vinegar/garlic sauce was helpful in softening the skin. The waitress never had suggested specials (which we overheard offered to guests later) - and not once stopped by to ask how dinner was even though the restaurant was not crowded at that earlier hour. Perhaps they had different staff that week. There are much better experiences on same block in Tribeca…

    Food is excellent. Unique food and ambiance. A New York experience. The waitstaff are very knowledgable and helpful, but service can be slow. Bathroom is downstairs and it is a treacherous walk to it. Be careful.

    What a FAB PLACE....Sarah met us and was terriffic. The food was fresh and amazing and i can't EVEN with the BANG BANG sauce.... Chef does a wonderful job and i can't wait to return and try more things!!!!

    I’ve been to Khe Yo many times and was always pretty happy. This time was different though. The food wasn’t great, especially the papaya salad and the chili chicken were unimpressive. Probably not going again.

    The food and drinks are delicious, definitely a great place to eat with (to me) a novel cuisine. The place gets very busy and noisy, and they don't have enough wait staff to move things along, but as long as you're not in a hurry, it's fine

    Einen Besuch wert ? Auf jeden Fall. Alles perfekt ? Nicht ganz. Das Lokal war gut besucht, aber dementsprechend unheimlich laut. Das Essen war gut zubereitet und lecker, nur nicht außergewöhnlich. Leider mussten wir sehr lange darauf warten die Rechnung bezahlen zu können. Alles in allem war es dennoch ein gelungener Abend.

    While this is a super cosy, atmospheric place with kind waiters the food is really not very good nor are the drinks. My chicken laap salad has a few beansprouts but was lacking in herbs, fresh vegetables and that tang it should have from the sour fish salty dressing. The heat was flat. I couldn’t finish it. The prawn noodles were worse. Gloopy overcooked, and stuck together with a drizzle of sauce closer to American barbecue and weird pickled jalapeños to not mention the overcooked prawns that tasted of dirty grill. They exchanged my horrible Margharita which had clearly been made with some prefab mix. This is not authentic Laotian food. But if you don’t care about that the place is super cosy…

    We sat outside and enjoyed the restaurant and week menus - the service was a little slower than desired for going on a work lunch break but otherwise it was a nice experience- food was delicious, flavorful, and the portions were perfect for lunch

    A visitor from Wisconsin raved about Khe Yo so I decided to try their restaurant week menu. It was delicious! Quite a bargain, too, at $30. Fresh yellowfin tuna sashimi in a delectable peach sauce. Entree was a heaping portion of roasted hen of the woods mushrooms with a sweet chili sauce, rice noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts and cucumbers. So good I'll go back again and happily pay their regular prices! I went there at an off hour (4 pm) so the service was fabulous and the place was quiet. I have a hunch it is much livelier in the evening.

    Ive been to Khe-Yo three times now with large family groups and have loved the experience every time. Have always sat outside. The food is excellent and so is the service and ambiance. The shrimp toast is to die for and nothing like you would imagine it would be. Everything on the menu is outstanding except for the sweet and sour chicken which was a little too sweet for us. The other standouts are the fried fish and the beef stir-fry.

    Wanted to love this place, but one dish had a loose hair floating in it, so we left. They removed the charge for that dish, but we only ate an appetizer and paid $100 with tip as we were completely turned off and our appetites were ruined. Never again.

    Food at Khe-Yo is very delicious, the portions are large. However, the service was not warm nor attentive, and definitely can be improved. Also, Khe-Yo is somewhat pricy.

    A lovely meal, with really interesting food and great service, ruined by the maitre d coming to our table to enquirer why the tip was too low (it was 18%!). He only did this because we all had foreign accents! I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have done this to a native New Yorker! My colleague was paying, otherwise i would have refused to pay a tip at all!

    We recently had an amazing dining experience at Khe Yo in Tribeca! Let me tell you, it was fantastic. The flavors were out of this world, and the atmosphere was just perfect for a fun and enjoyable evening. We started with their chicken wing special, and oh my goodness, they were absolutely delicious! The wings were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The flavor was incredible, and I couldn't get enough of them. Next up were the steak noodles. Oh boy, those noodles were a real treat! The steak was tender and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the noodles. The dish had a great balance of flavors and textures that kept me coming back for more. One of the highlights of the evening was the pork belly lettuce wraps. They were packed with flavor and made for a delightful and interactive eating experience. Wrapping the tender pork belly in fresh lettuce leaves and adding the accompanying sauce was just heavenly. And let's not forget about the Brussels sprouts! They were simply outstanding. Cooked to perfection, they had a nice char on the outside and a tender, flavorful interior. They were an excellent addition to the meal and added a wonderful touch of variety. Overall, the dining experience at Khe Yo was superb. The dishes were super flavorful, and it was so much fun to share them with my companions. I can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience with a great selection of flavorful and shareable dishes, I highly recommend giving Khe Yo a try. You won't be disappointed!

    Overall the food was very good. The "beef jerky" small plate was the least favorite of what we ordered. It felt charred and burnt rather dehydrated and flavorful. But all of the other dishes (brussels sprouts, tuna laap, pork spring rolls, quail) were all very good with the tuna being the favorite. Some of the portions were a bit small for the price but the flavors were very good. Service was kind but felt a bit rushed. Music was a strange playlist of acoustic covers that was on a repetitive loop, so we heard the same songs 3 times each which though not a big deal, felt very strange.

    Way to loud so conversations were difficult. Hard to get attention of service staff… service was good only when they were clearing the table. Food was excellent and tasty. I would go back only if I could sit outdoors.
