Great chance to try Laotian food.
Amazing food! The sticky rice balls and the beef jerky and the pork spring rolls were amazing. Would definitely go back. Great service and ambiance as well. Also a great beer selection which is sometimes not the case with small restaurants.
Excellent all round experience. I am a fussy eater and yet the menu offered something for everyone and the flavours came through
Do not recommend. Food is not good / super oily. Acoustics are terrible you can barely hear anyone. People sitting on top of each other. Service was fast and staff was kind — but that’s the only plus side. Now I know why it was easy to get a table there
It was good but expected better
We really enjoyed the ambiance and foods as spectacular, but our server completely disappeared on us. After we placed our order for food, we never saw her again. We wanted to order a second round of drinks but she never came by, not even to ask if we were enjoying our food. Later, someone else brought us some to go boxes. We saw our server standing across the room but she never came back to our table. It was strange and out of sync with the rest of our experience. Otherwise we really loved our beautiful meal.
Food is great, drinks are great. Only complaint is that the chairs outdoors don't make you want to stay longer. Not comfortable at all.
Birthday celebration with a dear friend flew up from Tampa and the food is solid as always. The prices went up for certain items in a jarring denomination. The ambiance is lively but noise level on a higher though it's a Saturday eve. The service lovely and convivial. The attention to details amazing right down to the manager stop a bartender from serving our sparkling rose from an existing bottle that has been opened and half served and lost its bubbles. He discreetly tasted the small pour to make sure it was still suitable to serve. When he determined it wasn't he had a brand new bottle opened and served two tall glasses to my dear friend and I. A perfect starts to my big birthday celebration of the evening. I appreciated that gesture even though he didn't notice that I've noticed from the other side of the bar. The integrity and passion of how he is keeping Khe-Yo running like a well-managed NYC caliber restaurant is testament on how it was packed solid last evening at the NYC comes back from the lowest depth of the pandemic. Thank you for a lovely and enjoyable evening.
This is my go-to place. Fantastic, creative, Laotian fusion food. Wonderful staff chef, and atmosphere. It is quite affordable at lunchtime. I hope Khe-Yo is here to stay!
Last week we had delicious pork curry, amazingly flavorful and subtly layered. Last night had pho - nice ingredients but broth was disappointingly bland. Pork spareribs last night had tasty sauce but were a bit overcooked and so kind of dry. Would recommend the pork curry enthusiastically, not so much the pho and ribs.
Ate outdoors with 3 adults and one toddler. The staff was super accommodating to our group's dietary restrictions and very kind. The fact that the food was fantastic was almost an afterthought because the staff was so great. But rest assured - the food is amazing. Mushroom bahn mi and the brussels sprouts are highly recommended!
The restaurant and staff were absolutely wonderful. The foie gras in the Tuna laap was really well prepared and would recommend.
Really enjoyed the food but a bit pricey for what you get.
Flavorful, delicious cuisine. Great staff. Wonderful outdoor seating (could have had more comfortable chairs tho). Great selection of wines and tasty cocktails. Definitely will be back to his great find.
Food and service was amazing! Definitely my favorite place in NYC
Khe Yo has been a regular place for us to eat for years. We love the menu, variety, & atmosphere. It’s also been kid friendly when we have our young children with us at lunch/brunch. Staff is pleasant, helpful & prompt.
Hands down one of the best Asian meals I’ve ever eaten.
Outstanding in every way. My friends and I were so thrilled that Khe Yo is back with its wonderful, kind, attentive and smart staff. Love love love this restaurant.
We chose to sit outdoors- but chairs ( metal without cushion) were not very comfortable. Good for cafe seating. Not up to Khe yo standards
Appetisers and entrees all arrived together so entrees were cold by the time we ate.
The hostess never gave us the bill. Just the cc slips to sign.
Definitely not worth a repeat.
I felt like I was in a Vegas Resturant — very dark room, music loud, and very expensive without including alcohol
Great outdoor seating area and good food. One entree was a bit underwhelming (poached bass) but rest of meal was delicious. My friend had soju cocktail and she said it was the best drink she's had.
Limited menu, staff seemed lost, didn’t even come to our table/bring water and saw other tables who arrived later served before us. If Menu changed/way you guys cook (e.g., fish) changed, please let customer know
Really loved this place before the pandemic, now its just a disappointment
We went on a Thursday night to try something new in the neighborhood. We had someone visiting and wanted to try a cool restaurant with positive reviews.
The service was very efficient, however, I wish the dishes and recommended way to eat them would have been explained by our waitress. The meal felt very rushed and I wish I had been able to savor the meal and the experience of eating Laotian food more.
The food was delicious and the ambiance felt very cozy and trendy.
Overall, it’s a cool spot in Tribeca with a great location and unique fare.
Nice selection of large and small plates to share-or not. The veggies were all greens the night I was there-would be nice to have a little variety. Nice atmosphere.
Tasty, creative food in an attractive location. My major quibble is that it is very pricey especially considering the very small protein portions they serve...
Haven’t been here since they first opened, food was better than remembered. Maybe we ordered better this time?
Service was excellent and the indoor space was comfortable. If anything maybe the music selection could be better and less loud?
The decor could be livelier ? Hey but this is Covid time, glad to be alive.
Khe-Yo is my go-to for Lao food and family-friendly vibes in the city. It's the perfect date spot or for a special occasion shindig. The staff, and most importantly, Chef Phet are always so accommodating and truly make you feel like family!
I promise this will be one of your most memorable meals, don't miss it.
Excellent appetizers but 2 of 4 main dishes were just ok. Pork belly was overly fatty. The chicken was nicely crunchy but a bit overly sweet. It was too much like General Tso’s chicken from a fast food Chinese place. One friend liked her pork noodles and the other was mostly happy with a fish entree. Would go back for appetizers and drinks if in the area.
Facility needs to be spruced up and cleaned up. A good paint job would help.
Food was great, drinks were great, service was great. Daniel handled our large party extremely well, would definitely come back!
The new outdoor chairs are not very comfortable, but the food is so good.
Wow wow! My friends and I ordered the crispy pork belly dish - it tasted delicious. The skin was very crispy. The sauce and side dishes were also amazing. Best restaurant in nyc we have tried. Loved everything about the dish!
The food was disappointing. Some of the dishes (e.g. Spring rolls) were very delicious. But too many were not. The shredded chicken was overly vinegar-y and piquant. The Pho had an unusual, bitter under-taste that lovers of good Vietnamese Pho will find unpleasant. The Crispy Chicken with sweet chili sauce had too much chili sauce which overpowered the delicate taste of the crunchy fried chicken. They had run out of ribs which we had wanted to try. We were there on a Sunday night - perhaps the lead chefs were off for the day.
Viet coffee was wattered down; lack of flavor and sweetness.
Food was Ok. Flies all over the place. Service was ok. Hard to communicate
Outdoor afternoon brunch was delicious. Brought a couple who haven’t been before and they loved their meal.
great staff great food
Terrible Service and pricy.
Food was decent as best. Not enough veggie options. Bathrooms were filthy!
The restaurant was billed as vegetarian friendly. I am vegan. There was very few vegetarian dishes on the menu. I asked if the chef could make a veg dish for me and he made a tasteless dish that was mostly noodles with a tiny bit of bok choi and onions...and it cost $29. I was stunned. I complained about the lack of vegetables and the waiter brought me more bok choi but it didn't really help as the dish was still tasteless. This restaurant is very expensive and most dishes were mediocre. Drinks were way overpriced. The service was extremely slow. The prices were high end and the service and taste was poor. I would not return.
Everything was lovely, except all waiters should be wearing masks at this point, even outdoors
