Enjoyable dinner with friends and colleagues. Thanks
This is the third time I've been to Khe-Yo in about a month. Once for brunch, and twice for dinner. I ate outside every time. The restaurant is super accommodating of largish parties (5, 7, 9), the food is excellent and inventive, but be sure to check with the waiter if you are sensitive to spicy foods! The location on a quiet street in Tribeca was sort of magical. I've already recommended Khe-Yo to friends: brought a group of 9 last night! I will definitely return!
We ate brunch outside on a lovely June day. It was warm, but not too hot. The table was shaded and there was a plexiglass barrier between us the the next table. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food was excellent. Very tasty and interesting. My daughter who had spent a semester in Thailand LOVED the sticky rice. Good vegetarian options. Would definitely go here again.
First time going and will be back. Fantastic food and service
Always delicious, great quality and well-seasoned. I just miss the sticky rice and bang bang sauce!
Food comes out fast. Service is nice. Portion is pretty small.
Had dinner on a friday night with my adult daughter, sat outside as it was a nice night
Food was outstanding, we mixed it up a bit and shared everything! They did not disappoint!
Service was ok, nothing noticeably wrong nut nothing but not outstanding. I willl however return and give them a good recommendation
First time having Laos food. Amazing food and great venue.
If you love spice this is your new home. Khe-Yo has delighted the two friends we have brought here who spent lots of time in Laos. The food is authentic and the spice level is HIGH but everything is so delicious you won't mind (or will enjoy!!) -- the selection is entirely authentic (no nods to american palates here). I had the salmon market bowl which was mild (you can ask for bang-bang sauce if that's your style). My friend got a coconut milk and it was actually a young coconut and came with a spoon!! Got to love any kitchen where a machete is part of the tool kit. Atmosphere indoors is cool and dark with high ceilings. Currently distanced tables. Outside is a lovely wood patio with a few flowers, surrounded by tribeca's gorgeous brownstones. The street gets some crosstown traffic but is far from police or fire or ambulances. It's on a quiet street, and the service is good - but if you are in a rush make sure you tell them, the normal level (at least at lunch) is to allow patrons to linger and enjoy. Highly recommended if you like Asian food. (also - highly recommended that you learn to love Asian food!!!)
The food as usual was outstanding but the service is not ready for prime time, as honestly most of NYC restaurants are struggling with service. Inexperienced servers along with the lack of training, leadership, and proper staffing remains to be an issue across the city. Khe-yo is one of my favorite places but they need some work. Consistently dirty and unbiased tables, no water refills, no table touches, and no server rechecks equal disappointed customers who won’t come back after the pent up pandemic rush is over.
The appetizers and drinks were absolutely amazing. But the main courses were alright.
Manager was ride when we mentioned the octopus was inedible. Didn’t do anything about it
Super friendly staff and food is delicious!
What a gem! The outdoor seating area is lovely, the service was friendly and helpful, and the cocktails and food were delicious! I would highly recommend the Thai Chili Cucumber Vodka cocktail and the Tamarind Ginger Mimosa. As for food, you have to try the Crunchy Coconut Rice, Berkshire Pork Spring Rolls, and the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Everything was fantastic!
Excellent food, good portions and very hospitable staff!
Food was excellent, lots of outdoor seating. Restaurant staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and service was quiet slow, but overall a great experience
Love the food. Service is always good and welcoming. We live in the neighborhood and have been coming for years.
The bad ambience score is because it was lunch, they have a glass roof outside, and it became unbearably hot. Otherwise, very good food and service.
Cute outdoor seating vestibule
Great food, location, and fantastic outside dining area. I would highly recommend Khe-Yo.
It was amazing. Never had Laotian food before so it was an awesome experience. We were early for our reservation but they seated us quickly. Service was wonderful and the food phenomenal. Highly recommend the pork spring rolls as a starter. The portions are very generous so we split the small plate and each ordered a large plate. It was more than enough food.
Great food and fantastic service! I would certainly recommend
Great food a d Sevoce
We were looking for something different for dinner over the weekend and stumbled upon Khe Yo on OpenTable. We've never tried Laotian food so we were very curious going in. Definitely a nice first time. It was quite different flavors from its neighbors...Vietnam and Thailand but defiitely nice flavor and texture to the cuisinge. A must visit!
Food was quite good, service was excellent. We had the Chilli Prawns, Beef Pho, Beef jerky, and Papaya Salad. Entrees were better than the appetizers but all in all was a great meal.
Loved the place, service, food, ambience, it was all wonderful and one of the best meals I've had in a long time.
Greasy crowd-pleasing food. Not very Laotian.
The service was great, food was fabulous, this has become my new go-to spot. I love their curbside set up with weather coverage and heaters. They have a modern wall-mounted thermometer. They take COVID safety SERIOUSLY.
Our table wasn’t prepared when we got to our reserved time. However, the manager gave us free drinks and a free dish. Even when the kitchen was closed, the manager went out of his way to let us order additional entrees. Would def come back here again. Not just the service was great, but the food was amazing.
Admittedly we were a largish group of 9 at Khe-Yo, but our experience of food and service was underwhelming especially for the price point. The crispy whole bass and the brussel sprouts were really good as were a couple of the drinks, the rest of the dishes we ordered were unmemorable.
Waiter ignored the table and had to be called few times, food was way overpriced for the quality. The noodle soup came Luke warm. Location is nice.
Absolutely fantastic food. Killer lunch. Even the Berkshire pork dishes felt light on their feet and vibrant. Everything was delicious. It's been awhile since I've been dining out but I need to make this one of my regular stops.
Fresh, flavorful and ambient. Brought our 12 and our 15 year old girls here for dinner and they loved it. We had the pho, pork belly wraps, sweet chili chicken and papaya salad (hot). Added to our favorites list.
Cool bar lounge restaurant, interesting food, definitely recommend
Chef Phet and his team were amazing as always. Nowhere else would I celebrate LNY in NYC than at KheYo!
We were sitting outdoors. Liked the appetizers but they failed to mention that the kitchen was closing and never got to order any main dishes!
One of my favorites, everything here is fantastic.
The food was good, but not fantastic. I think Laura does a better job in capturing the flavors of the region
Great outdoor patio, food is delicious and service is friendly and prompt. Perfect for groups
Everything was very good: food and service, and cocktails!
