Great service. The pork noodles were fantastic. The flavors blended perfectly.
Awesome food and great vibe. Perfect for trying something different and reliable
Absolutely wonderful service to go with the amazing delicious food. Even our 9 and 11 year old kids loved the food.
Awesome and delicious food
I would not consider this is Laotian food. Papaya salad is below average of most Thai restaurants in NYC, crispy pork wrap is a joke, it was really chewy, more like left over the night before from China town, and the last chili shrimp was only okay. I am really disappointed, too bad.
We have been here a number of times and the drawback is the strong smell of scented cleaning fluid that hits you as you enter the place. Maybe it is the floor cleaner, smells like that cheap purple fluid that many places use. It wafts into the dining area and really interrupts the food experience.
We had the pork belly wrap which was amazing. The pork belly was crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside. It went really well with the peanut sauce and lettuce. Would recommend! We also had the braised short rib curry. The meat could have been more tender and there was barely any gai lan, but the flavor of the curry was good. The restaurant was a little louder than what we would’ve liked, but the vibe was exciting.
Really interesting menu with great wines to accompany the food!
Excellent all around, thanks to the chef and staff for a wonderful evening!
Always a great time eating here. Food is always delicious!
Spot-on, extremely tasty, perfectly prepared Lao cuisine, served by attentive, prompt staff. Great room decor, seating not too crowded, as many restaurants do these days. I would work on the beverage program a bit, but it was adequate. Pairing wines with spicy foods is tricky, but can be done. One thing I feel strongly about is the ability to carry on conversation with my fellow diners comfortably, and the room is quite loud. If that doesn't bother you, this is a five-star experience.
Khe-Yo is the only restaurant that I regularly visit since I moved to Tribeca three years ago. It's a neighborhood gem and a great NYC restaurant overall. Everybody who I take loves it - even the fussiest eaters. I have had some hit or miss dishes (lobster noodles... sorry :/ ), but overall, the food, ambiance, service are excellent.
The food was really scrumptious. Everything seemed to be made fresh and with fresh ingredients.
Negative - was really, really loud. They had many bookings per table so it was sit, eat and out. No lingering allowed. Did not like that.
Quite hard to hear my conversation with my partner and waiters took a while to give us the menu, but overall great place to dine.
Very good neighborhood restaurant with the right amount of buzz. Lunch is priced dramatically cheaper and is a great value but dinner for 2 is expensive. I live down the street and I love this place
The service was not great. We had a reservation and had to check with the them 3 times before they seated us 20 minutes later at a table that had been open the whole time. After we got our food, the waitress never checked back with us -- I wanted to order food, or maybe dessert, but she just brought the check. Also the so-called 'large' plate of shrimp was 4 shrimp.
What an unusual waiter - he seemed thoroughly disinterested in welcoming and serving us and could barely look us in the eye. My friend had a cocktail that she described as "3 ingredients, all straight out of their bottles." Nothing special. The wine by the glass list was EXCELLENT, however. The food was hit and miss. The brussels sprouts appetizer offered was top notch, but the smashed papaya salad almost choked us with all of its fish sauce. The delicious Bamboo Quail certainly made us feel we might still be on the right track. The fried garlic & chilies Bell & Evans Chicken was either just terrible or a bad imitation of General Tso's Chicken. Thick with bread coating surrounding gristly chicken and a super soppy, syrupy sauce. We each had two bites. This neither tasted Laotian nor did any bit of the restaurant seem to be engaged in presenting high quality anything.
The experience of Laotian food at Khe-Yo, in spite of a high noise level is wonderful. The service is quick, friendly and attentive. To avoid a very crowded, noisy restaurant in the evening, try lunch. I recommend Khe-Yo any time.
This restaurant is a very good value, service is excellent and food is excellent
The noise level is a little too high for my taste but we still could have a conversation
Amazing. I would not change a thing about my experience.
Food was amazing. The quail was absolutely perfect and no dish disappointed. They seemed understaffed and overwhelmed however.
Bring your friends and enjoy!
One of my favorite date night restaurants. You can always count on great food and amazing service.
Fantastic food. Great location amazing service. We highly recommend it
Bad food, extremely expensive.
I usually love the food here. There was a special of curry crab that the waitress explained and it sounded great. It cost twice as much as any other dish, but could feed multiple people. When it arrived - still in the shell with wet curry sauce all over it! We didn’t realize it was still in the shell when we ordered it. Very hard to crack - slippery, covered with curry. The sauce was yummy but it was so tough and messy to eat! This would be a terrible dish to order on a date!
Everything else was great, and I love the space. I just wouldn’t have ordered that particular dish.
Nice evening one more time 👍😄
Soooooooo good !!!! Special dishes coupled with charming decor and great services yummy drinks too. I’ll definitely be back
Delicious whole fried fish.
Cute little neighborhood place, but very noisy. The food was delicious, but too expensive for gourmet Laos street food. Our table was tiny & we asked to have time with our appetizer first because of this. The waiter ignored that request and brought out our entrees soon after. The plates were on top of Waco there, because we also had a bottle of wine on the table. This made our experience quite annoying, couldn’t relax, just wanted to leave as soon as we were done.
Felt squeezed in and overwhelmed by the all the kids and families. Not what I expected at all.
This is probably my new favorite restaurant in the city. Since I have found this gem, I have gone almost every week.
Laotion food is hard to find and we love it. This restaurant didnt disappoint. The food and service were great
Hi have always loved the food at Khe-yo but our last dinner was not very good. I am not sure if the chef has changed, but our favorite dishes were overly sweet. Normally the dishes are beyond delicious and savory, make the chef that night had a heavy hand with sweetener, and it really ruined all the dishes.
I hope that they go back to the original recipes and get the food back to the amazing level it was.
Great place for groups
Lots of small plates meant for sharing
Drinks are great but small glasses
Party of 8. Very good experience.
Was there last Friday, 10/4/19, with a group of coworkers. First time to try Laotian cuisine. Our server was nice enough to give us suggestions to order some combination of large and small plates to share. We especially love the the pig’s face. The crackle and the smell as you cut into the cheek was divine and you eat it with Vietnamese spring roll wrapper with lettuce cilantro ramen bean sprouts and hoisin sauce - it was delicious. The hanger steak short ribs pork curry noodles were delicious as well. Definitely a good place for a big group. Will definitely go back again. Btw, the pigs face are available on weekends Friday - Saturday dinner time only. Another note, a lot of the dishes are on the spicy side😉
Birthday. My favorite restaurant
This is a new cuisine experience for us. Very unique and we like the food. Food served there is fabulous and service was nice.
Great food, friendly service. Lots of good drinks
The food tasted really good and the service was great. Some portions were small however, for the price charged. It was also pretty loud. Still, it's a place I'd go back to for the delicious food.
Paul, thank you for taking the time to rate us. We know our restaurant can be quite loud. I would recommend coming on the early or late side for a quieter experience. Hope to see you again soon!
