Definitely recommend the pig face! Authentic and delicious!
Excellent experience with quality ingredients cooked to perfection, kind service. We had an excellent time - again.
Outdoor seating was selected however there are 02 outdoor seating areas - one actual under a enclosed cabin & other is 100% outdoor.
While making a reservation no such option was available hence such bad experience - We were made to sit outdoor (100%) on a foot walk and it was freezing to death experience while outdoor seating area under a enclosed cabin was 85% empty all the while we finished food and left.
Very professional staff all around. Great food and if you want authentic Lao food in the USA, this is the place. Great owner and chefs. Great atmosphere and safe with all what’s going around. Thanks for a great experience.
We came here from the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. The atmosphere is inviting and warm, service fast, and food delicious. The menu obviously pulls influence from Laos’s geographic neighbors, Thailand and Vietnam.
Excellent food and great ambience. Our go to when we visit New York City
While I had been interested in visiting Khe-Yo for awhile now, the experience was disappointing. It was quite loud, and the food was just okay.
Tuesday night and it was a full restaurant. Nice energy, food was great.
Great food nice ambience very attentive service. Thank you.
Was a loud busy night and they seemed slammed- food arrived late (luke warm pho) to a table that still had old ap plates on it. Ribs, rolls, cocktails, were good. 3 drinks, 3 entrees, 2 aps, 15% tip =$250.
Used to be terrific. Food was not up to par.
If you want excellent and legit spicing on your Asian food- you have to come here. The amazing menu was a great introduction to Laotian food- much like Vietnamese to my palate. The green papaya salad rocked our taste buds and tingled our lips - SO perfect but not for the faint of spice-heart. The 35$/750 bottle corkage fee was a bit steep but happy to pay it as we brought our wines to match the spice factor. However, the wines on the list were also able to handle the spice load and match well. The decor was pleasing with soft up lights and stylish as a blend of trendy-industrial meets traditional Laotian temple. And located in a great neighborhood, there is much to do while wandering before or after dinner.
Delicious! Excellent meal, as always. Crowded at lunch so service a bit lacking but the food makes up for that!
Always a good choice. Love their food every single time.
Excellent food! Everything was delicious. Loved the egg rolls and brussels sprouts and the market bowls!
Very rarely do I write reviews, and typically only when the experience is wonderful. However, our dining experience here last night was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten - especially given the price point. We arrived early for our reservation and ended up sitting at the bar. Which in all fairness, was great given that the entire restaurant was made up of birthday parties and the noise level was outrageous given the small space. We ordered the crispy chicken and the prawn pad see ew. The chicken came and there was about one cup of sauce poured on top of it. It looked like a soup with some pieces of chicken. My partner described it as cheap fast food. All of the pieces contained bones and cartilage and the sauce was so sweet it was inedible. He ended up ordering a plain bowl of white rice just to get the taste out of his mouth. My pad see ew was also sitting in a heavy serving of sauce and the only edible parts were the prawns themselves. The prawns were fine, but the noodles were all caked together and also inedible. The fact that this meal, without alcohol, was $100 is truly mind blowing. I am so dismayed with the meal and we left talking about how it was one of the worst meals we have ever eaten. I’m not sure if this is due to the pandemic, but I would certainly never recommend this restaurant to anyone in its current state.
Great food .
Great ambience .
A good spot for group outings. Portions are generous so not as easy for small parties.
This is a very attractive brick-walled restaurant. It was crowded and noisy with young adults at 8pm on a cold Wednesday night in December, 2021. I'd prefer they turn off the rock & roll music overhead when so crowded. Attentive service despite the servers being overworked. Food is interesting, perfectly prepared, medium-spicy, and quite attractive, accompanied by decorative and tasty greens. We had an eggroll appetizer, a salmon curry, and a prawns with broad rice noodle. Homemade toasted coconut ice cream scoop for dessert was delicious. No Laotian beer, inexplicably. Price for two was $150 before tip.
Great chance to try Laotian food.
Amazing food! The sticky rice balls and the beef jerky and the pork spring rolls were amazing. Would definitely go back. Great service and ambiance as well. Also a great beer selection which is sometimes not the case with small restaurants.
Excellent all round experience. I am a fussy eater and yet the menu offered something for everyone and the flavours came through
Do not recommend. Food is not good / super oily. Acoustics are terrible you can barely hear anyone. People sitting on top of each other. Service was fast and staff was kind — but that’s the only plus side. Now I know why it was easy to get a table there
It was good but expected better
We really enjoyed the ambiance and foods as spectacular, but our server completely disappeared on us. After we placed our order for food, we never saw her again. We wanted to order a second round of drinks but she never came by, not even to ask if we were enjoying our food. Later, someone else brought us some to go boxes. We saw our server standing across the room but she never came back to our table. It was strange and out of sync with the rest of our experience. Otherwise we really loved our beautiful meal.
Food is great, drinks are great. Only complaint is that the chairs outdoors don't make you want to stay longer. Not comfortable at all.
Birthday celebration with a dear friend flew up from Tampa and the food is solid as always. The prices went up for certain items in a jarring denomination. The ambiance is lively but noise level on a higher though it's a Saturday eve. The service lovely and convivial. The attention to details amazing right down to the manager stop a bartender from serving our sparkling rose from an existing bottle that has been opened and half served and lost its bubbles. He discreetly tasted the small pour to make sure it was still suitable to serve. When he determined it wasn't he had a brand new bottle opened and served two tall glasses to my dear friend and I. A perfect starts to my big birthday celebration of the evening. I appreciated that gesture even though he didn't notice that I've noticed from the other side of the bar. The integrity and passion of how he is keeping Khe-Yo running like a well-managed NYC caliber restaurant is testament on how it was packed solid last evening at the NYC comes back from the lowest depth of the pandemic. Thank you for a lovely and enjoyable evening.
This is my go-to place. Fantastic, creative, Laotian fusion food. Wonderful staff chef, and atmosphere. It is quite affordable at lunchtime. I hope Khe-Yo is here to stay!
Last week we had delicious pork curry, amazingly flavorful and subtly layered. Last night had pho - nice ingredients but broth was disappointingly bland. Pork spareribs last night had tasty sauce but were a bit overcooked and so kind of dry. Would recommend the pork curry enthusiastically, not so much the pho and ribs.
Ate outdoors with 3 adults and one toddler. The staff was super accommodating to our group's dietary restrictions and very kind. The fact that the food was fantastic was almost an afterthought because the staff was so great. But rest assured - the food is amazing. Mushroom bahn mi and the brussels sprouts are highly recommended!
The restaurant and staff were absolutely wonderful. The foie gras in the Tuna laap was really well prepared and would recommend.
Really enjoyed the food but a bit pricey for what you get.
Flavorful, delicious cuisine. Great staff. Wonderful outdoor seating (could have had more comfortable chairs tho). Great selection of wines and tasty cocktails. Definitely will be back to his great find.
Food and service was amazing! Definitely my favorite place in NYC
Khe Yo has been a regular place for us to eat for years. We love the menu, variety, & atmosphere. It’s also been kid friendly when we have our young children with us at lunch/brunch. Staff is pleasant, helpful & prompt.
Hands down one of the best Asian meals I’ve ever eaten.
Outstanding in every way. My friends and I were so thrilled that Khe Yo is back with its wonderful, kind, attentive and smart staff. Love love love this restaurant.
We chose to sit outdoors- but chairs ( metal without cushion) were not very comfortable. Good for cafe seating. Not up to Khe yo standards
Appetisers and entrees all arrived together so entrees were cold by the time we ate.
The hostess never gave us the bill. Just the cc slips to sign.
Definitely not worth a repeat.
I felt like I was in a Vegas Resturant — very dark room, music loud, and very expensive without including alcohol
Great outdoor seating area and good food. One entree was a bit underwhelming (poached bass) but rest of meal was delicious. My friend had soju cocktail and she said it was the best drink she's had.
