We have been going to this neighborhood place for over 20 years and always enjoyed bringing out of town guests. First, it took a half hour just to park, so we dropped off most of our party. When we finally arrived, we found that no one had come to the table during that half hour. Twice I had to get up from our table and try to find a server to take our order and to bring our food, over an hour from when we ordered. When I asked why the delay, I was told ther were several large parties, but the restaurant was not full. The food was good, but after waiting so long the whole experience was spoiled. Adding insult to injury, when the bill came, they had added a service charge, so we could not show our displeasure by leaving a smaller tip!

Really cool dining experience! The food was good, pretty authentic Thai cuisine - not like take out Thai food (not that's a good or bad thing, just different). Affordably priced too.

I went to Khan Toke on a Friday evening with a reservation for 5 at 8:45PM. When I arrived there was nobody there to greet me, no defined area to check in at, nothing. I finally flagged down a random guy after 5 minutes and he said he'd be right back. Fifteen minutes later, he still had not arrived. A friend in my party overheard another table say, "We've been here for 45 minutes and we still have yet to see our waiter". At that point I decided to leave, after 20 minutes of STILL being greeted. So I marked the food poor accidentally when, in all actuality, I never even got a "hello" from an employee. Same goes for ambiance and noise.

I love this place. Have been coming here for more than 30 years (when they were a little whole in the wall). The staff is gracious and friendly. The food is fantastic. Every time. Really the best Thai in the Bay Area.

Valentines Day dinner disaster. Took a long wait for the host to appear. Appetizers were fairly prompt and tasty. But that was that. After a 90 minute wait our main courses had not appeared nor was there any word or apology from the staff. Had to get up and find someone to bring the bill. Still no apology. We left hungry and disappointed never to return.

My wife and I live in the Richmond and Khan Toke is one of our go-to dinner spots. My wife is strictly gluten free and she's able to eat most of the dishes on the menu. This last time we took friends from Portland who used to live in SF and they specifically asked to go to Khan Toke. We had a great time with good friends and good food in a very comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We had a reservation but when we went to the restaurant they had no idea about having reservations and therefore it wasn't honored.

We were the only family to dine at the height of the dinner hour. Service was very attentive, however the food left something to be desired. Not a good place to take children. The management appeared unwelcoming to the little ones.

I have been here two times and each time has been great. love the experience of sitting near the ground with shoes off. place is near where I live it giving it +++ You have to try this place at least once! Great, good tasting food.
