We ate outdoors on the patio under a heater - quiet there. The food was really good - especially liked the shrimp and the carrot appetizers, the vegetable, duck and lamb tagines, and the honey cake for dessert. Excellent wine. Attentive service, personable owners. We've been there probably 3-4 times before and will be coming again.
Not authentic Moroccan food, bland and Americanized, but service was good.
Khamsa is wonderful, food is outstanding, staff is great. Overall experience is great.
Loved the food and service
Wonderful to see Khamsa filled with happy food fans - we missed you! The food is better than ever, the service as always warm and pleasant. While Khamsa's interior is one of the jewels of SF dining, the garden is a lovely spot for an alfresco dinner with a friend - or a small group. Congratulations to Adil and his wonderful team for making it through COVID with grace, intelligence and good humor!
Khamsa's simple yet somehow complete-feeling menu is perfect for family style with (a) friend(s). The outdoor patio is cloistered but intimate. Only complaint is that they seemed mildly understaffed. Would recommend and will certainly be back!
Exceeded expectations. Food was spectacular!
We had an array of appetizers that catered to the vegetarian in our group as well as the meat eaters. All were scrumptious from the meatballs and warm olives to the cauliflower and bread. Our meals comprised of the couscous, veggies, and lamb with lamb shanks and fruit couscous to the vegetarian entree. All were delicious and the wine and tea we had were just as good!
Recommend this gem in the mission.
Khamsa was recommended to my friend and I by a Lyft driver. The food, ambiance and service was excellent. The food came out very quickly. I would highly recommend the Berber couscous dish and the calmar- absolutely delicious ! The Berber couscous taste like a hearty homemade meal.
Was disappointed in the experience. Didn't think the food was great, and staff wasn't very nice. The ambience was good, and the same itself is nice
Every dish was perfect, staff attentive and friendly but not obtrusive, space was lovely.
food was decent; however, the portion sizes were way too small especially given the price (i.e. $14 cauliflower dish only had 4 pieces of cauliflower, a side of rice costed $7).
Not a Moroccan dining experience but not bad. More Mediterranean fusion. Enjoyed the Palestinian wine. Wished for the olives, harissa, and khobz round bread that I’m accustomed to on Moroccan classic dinners
Overall good experience except really felt we were being rushed to order and then through the meal service.
First time dining there. The food was GREAT. Sort of pan south Mediterranean menu. One of those places where everything looks good in the menu and they all turn out to live up to the description
Beer and on one menu offer selections from the same region and are interesting
Overall, a particularly good meal
Food and service was great. Wine list may keep you wanting but not a reason to overlook this restaurant with a great outdoor space
Third time going here - always recommend it
Lovely outdoor patio area with heaters which was comfortable. We loved the bastilla and honey cake dessert but felt the chicken and fish tagine were both pretty bland (especially considering the price) and the khamsa salad was also good but not great.
A little hidden gem! The food was great, service respectful and fast. We sat inside thinking that outside would too open and cold....well, it wasn't. Heat lamps everywhere and the most popular place to sit. 1st time there... and it won't be our last.
Always a wonderful experience and the food is consistently delicious! At the lamb shank and basteeya!
Top-drawer tagines, friendly staff, reasonable prices, nice enclosed outdoor space. A great find.
Food was delicious, healthy, nice balance of flavors and letting fresh ingredients shine.
Wonderful ambience with perfectly spiced/prepared & cooked food - we had the cauliflower app, the lamb tagine, and beef tagine with the saffron rice. Really well done with very friendly & on-point service.
Love the decor and ambiance. The service is exceptionally hospitable and the dishes we ordered were all delicious.
Such a lovely experience. Satisfying food, good environment and a kind staff. Would visit again.
Food was delicious and staff very friendly! Highly recommend!
The outdoor patio was really nice. Nestled between buildings it was protected from wind and more private. The wait staff was excellent. Very good food.
Had a date with the bf for the first time in awhile. Lovely ambience and service was attentive. We ordered the stuffed calamari, chicken tagine, salmon, and rice. The chicken was the best since it was very tender and flavors were great. The salmon was overcooked and rice was cold. Flavors were pretty good and wines from Morocco were delicious. The food overall could have been a lot hotter in temperature. Cold rice was disappointing especially since we had to pay an additional amount for it. Didn't come with our entrees. The food not coming out very hot overall was pretty disappointing. Maybe they were having an off day?
A charming atmosphere, Very authentic food and great service
The menu provides so many great options to explore and share plates. We found the size of the appetizers and starters to be a bit small, given the price ranges and comparing them to the main dishes.
Love Khamsa, delicious Moroccan food, impeccable service
Perfect place to eat for outside dining! Food is amazing as is the service. Definitely recommend their tea and baklava.
Everything was excellent, but oh my goodness, the baklawa was to die for! I've generally found baklava to be pleasant enough, but I've never really been a fan of it, so I had no idea I'd ever have some that qualified as one of the most delectable desserts I've ever tasted. Absolutely astonishing!
It was for Valentine’s dinner. They had a set menu for the evening but literally everything on it was delicious. From appetizer to dessert It was all delicious. The flavors were so rich and warm. I can’t wait to go back and try more. And the service was terrific too! Absolutely wonderful time!
The expectation of the food was high from looking at the pictures before going there, but the food was extremely underwhelming once we ate there. It felt like a lot of the appetizers had cheap pasta sauce mixed with the foods and the lamb and beef just wasn't good at all. Also, I put that I was on a date for our reservation and I was stuck behind the an open door next to our table next to the entrance.
I know it's covid and I really didn't want to leave a bad review but it was just a bad experience especially for the price.
Since it was outdoor dining, it was a bit chilly. There were heaters, but they weren't enough. Food wise, we ordered grilled calamari and kefta for starters, lamb tajine for the main course and a side of okra. Kefta and okra stood out and it was the best I had. Tajine was a bit disappointing as it was dry and overpriced. The pita bread was fresh and tasty with okra and kefta. Overall a decent experience but on the pricier side.
Delicious food and very good Wine list! Great service and ambience. We will be back! ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Loved the restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful in the patio. Good and thoughtful service. We had an amazing Berber couscous.
Service was great and the food was amazing! Thanks!
