Excellent experience. The only criticism is that the front door kept being left open or ajar. It was a cold evening and this was really felt by my wife.
Very overpriced mediocre food. We’ve had much better Moroccan food elsewhere. Bstilla was very dry, vegetarian tagine was incredibly small (my son had to go home and make another dinner), my lamb shank was small. Would not return
A nice laid-back restaurant (at least on Thanksgiving!) with good service and a very interesting menu. Not being super-foodies we appreciated the friendly help choosing our dishes. It was our first visit and we will definitely come back again.
Love having this restaurant in the neighborhood. So comfortable, welcoming, and great food. So thankful they are open for lunch again.
A bit pricey for lunch on a regular occasion but the food and presentation are stellar. It can be a bit noisy when full. Service was attentive and friendly. It’s great to have a different option in the neighborhood.
Delicious food, great service & hospitality, beautiful spot! We had lamb and Khalsa salad, and chicken batiste (spelling!) appetizer- all were great!
Outstanding ambiance, food quality, drinks, service, and experience. This was my third time at Khamsa and Adeel, the manager/owner took care of us as if we were a part of his extended family.
The lamb shank, couscous, pastry appetizers and the dessert (kanafah and baklava) were all what you would think you're having in a michelin restaurant.
I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone looking to have incredible Moroccan food. ingredients and service in the Mission District.
Thank you to everyone at Khamsa. We will be back!
Great as usual. Was as good as the first.
We had a big group meeting so was nice to be at a large table where people could hear each other. The service was excellent and super smooth, the team as attentive and created a nice flow. All the dishes were delicious, especially the apps! Portions were a bit small on some of the dishes.
Great neighborhood spot with a tasty selection of Moroccan dishes paired up with some interesting international wines.
The baclava was outstanding!
delicious and easy to book - friendly staff. requires waiting sometimes
Food and service here are GREAT. Food is reasonably priced and super tasty. Wine tends to be a little overpriced. Small location, but definitely worth checking out!
The food was really nice. I had lamb, there were no side dishes, which I would have appreciated, but the meat was very tender and nicely seasoned. The appetizers we're delicious and the honey cake to die for!
A hidden little gem in the city. Food was so yummy and made us drooled:-) Service and ambiance were great as well. Highly recommended.
We only got a few things but everything (including a Salad) was crazy salty. And I am very much pro-salt, so we were really disappointed. Waiter definitely didn’t seem able to speak to their wines much either.
Went here for a birthday dinner. Lovely decor, amazing food, wonderful service.
Delightful food in a sweet setting. One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Mains were great but the starters were not nearly as good as I remember them to be the last time I dined there.
Ambience the best part of this restaurant. The food is mediocre.
Overall, it’s not worth $50 a person for hardly anything.
Food was delicious. We had the cauliflower for appetizer. I had the Mrouza and my friend a vegetarian tagine. So good!! We ended with American mint tea, that our waiter served the traditional way. Loved it! It’s a bit noisy, but other than that, highly recommend!
Amazing food!!! Definitely the best morrocan for in the city
The food wasn't quite as good this time. Everything seemed a bit old and tired, not as fresh as past experiences.
Lovely little place in a less than lovely neighborhood. Excellent service and good food!!!
Pretty place, delicious food. Cauliflower appetizer Was absolutely Fabulous
The food at Khamsa is delicious, and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. The service is very good.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is very small, and the staff/website/opentable makes it Very Clear that the space is tight and that you must comply with their guidelines. My chief complaint is that our table of three got wedged into what is naturally a two-top by the door to the patio. Our third person (our table shrunk from six on the reservation) was in the cold breeze, in the path of people leaving or coming inside as well as in the direct bathroom path. We were altogether too close to the opening/closing of the bathroom door- who wants to think about the bathroom during their fancy dinner? We had no choice. That was rather unappetizing.
Outstanding Moroccan fare in a quaint yet modern space. Cozy spot, excellent service.
The portions are extremely small for the price they are charging. The quality is good
The food is phenomenal. The service is always welcoming and friendly, and the decor is gorgeous and homey.
The food was very authentic. The wine was refreshing. Service was thorough without being invasive. Great experience!
Yummy and very low-key. We were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed every dish
The waitress was great! The food was delicious! We had a wonderful time!
Do not come here!
It is my favorite spot in the city. The food is amazingly flavorful, thoughtful and elegant without being stupidly overpriced like other eateries in the city.
Again, Do Not Come Here.
This is my place. I love it. I don’t want the word to get out and all the annoying hipster wannabes of Mission to flood it and make it basic.
STAY AWAY! Khamsa is mine and it’s special. If y’all put the word out about it and it gets over run and bougie’d im gonna be so mad at you.
DO. NOT. SPOIL THIS PLACE FOR ME!!!!
But Forreal, Khamsa is great. I repeat, this place is great. Stay away.
Make a reservation online. If you show up then odds are there won’t be an open table per se and you’ll just end up standing awkwardly waiting cuz that’d just spoil the vibe.
My new fav restaurant in the City. Fabulous food an dreary service. Just lie sitting in Fez or Marrakech. .
Delicious Tagines!!! Chicken one was the standout. Great service!!
Our second visit to Khamsa gave opportunity to explore the menu further. The Beef Tagine was sumptuously tender, saffron scented with perfect roasted pears and walnuts to accompany - order the saffron rice or couscous because you'll want every drop of the sauce. The cauliflower appetizer was cooked to perfection with olives, roasted peppers and a hint of oregano the lead spice. Merquez (lamb) sausage with saffron/tomato scented beans also quite delicious and served with very nice pita. The ever gracious owners sent over yet another complimentary dessert - this time a sort of rolled almond/cardamon dense cookie served with cardamon scented ice cream dusted with pistachios. A bottle of Moroccan Cab/Grenach was lightly fruity and with enough depth to match everything we ordered. Again, a lovely room, gracious and inspired service from people who are truly passionate about introducing new spins on traditional Moroccan dishes to SF and providing a relaxed and pleasurable dinner experience. Thank you!
The calamari was worth the trip to the city. Check it out.
Excellent food very tasty and seasoned to perfection loud lively place. Good service
Fantastic food and service!
Enjoyed Khamsa on our first visit. Lovely room, gracious service and excellent traditional Moroccan dishes with a nice farm-to-table touch. The lamb Mrouzia, eggplant rolls and lovely spice cake with were all delicious. Will try the Beef Tangine next time. Excellent and intriquing wine list - enjoyed a bottle of the Syrah which was perfect with the lamb and the eggplant.
