   This was my second time eating here so I had preconceived expectations of the food and service. We ordered the duck tagine as our main dish. Not only did we have to remind them about our order well after we finished our appetizers, but the dish was cold and the duck was over cooked. Very disappointing. I don’t think we’ll go back again.

   We ordered a variety of items. Best dish was the okra. Tajine lamb was a light stew - meat over cooked. They ran out of saffron rice so we had to order the couscous which I’m not very fond of. Service was excellent. Nice variety of middle eastern wines. Decor authentic. Overall good!

   Our server was amazing, she helped to accommodate 6 people indoors when it started to rain. We ordered almost everything and bastilla, tagine and chicken tangine were delicious! Their bread was very fresh and flavourful, it’s not mentioned in the menu but you can ask. The desserts were a amazing as well. We went with honey cake and baklava which is baked fresh and tasted heavenly!!

   Dined on a Friday evening. We were on time for an 8:30 reservation, but not seated till 9:30. Salad & entrees came at same time and told kitchen closing at 10. Due to the delay, we were given a free dessert, which arrived while still eating entrees. We were told later it would have tasted better if we ate it right away while it was still warm! A rushed and disappointing celebration of my wife's birthday. They know how to take a reservation, but they don't know how to honor it. No return visit for us.

    Great little spot! We were warm and comfortable out on the patio with heaters. We loved the food, and the staff was super friendly. I especially loved the fish tagine.

    Tagines, we thought, would be moist and aromatic. Wrong. I had the lamb, which was moist, but so bland that the chef should urgently contact his/her mother for the proper recipe. 5 chickpeas and 6 olives are measly for a tagine. My dining companion had the fish tagine and the fish was dried out. Actually it looked as if it had been fried somewhere and then put in a tagine. It does not appear there is a kitchen on the premises which, in my opinion, is a must for a restaurant. No more Khamsa dinners for us.

    I F*CKING LOVE THIS PLACE. Just celebrated by birthday here with a group of 8. Fantastic flavoursome food but also the outdoor plant patio sets a great scene and has gas burners to keep you warm on a cool evening. I have been there well over 10X over the past couple of years. Definitely a personal favourite.

    Everything was amazing. Service, outdoor courtyard, wine list was eclectic but matched the food very well. The food was the star. Our favorites were the chermoula roasted carrots and the merguez with this amazing sauce and veggies. Also, the slow roasted bone-in lamb shank with various fruits was stunningly good. Probably best to share with someone though, as the portions are on the generous side. We will absolutely go back again.

    Wonderful tagines fabulous couscous and a mega lamb shank with tons of dried fruit and nuts....sides a little pricey for what you got but great subtle flavors. Nice heated outdoor enclosed seating.. 9/10

    Well recommended and lived up to its review by a friend. Actually got a space almost right in front which was fortunate. We all agreed the favorite was the sweet chicken appetizer in the pastry shell. Similar to the Chicken Celicia at Le Mediterranee in SF and Berkeley. I will go back again.

    We had a pleasant experience. I had the leg of lamb. Although tasty it was a little tough. Usually the meat would fall off a shank it it was cooked well. My GF had the vegetable tagine which she said was excellent. Dessert was very good too. We had the six layer cake with ice cream.

    We had a really nice meal at Khamsa. Service was attentive. I would have given the food a 5 star rating except the fish was overcooked in the tagine. Flavors, however, were wonderful. We'll be back...

    We had a delightful meal at Khamsa. The food tasted authentic, and service was prompt and friendly. I wish we could have accessed the outdoor dining area without waiting inside the restaurant for several minutes, but otherwise, I can't compliment this place enough. The Berber couscous was subtly delicious, and the kale salad and other starters were all delicious. I want to return to try their harira!

    I came here for dinner with a group of executives and we asked for recommendations for the wine and food. Honestly, it was all good. We were all so pleasantly surprised. Lamb is a must. Lebanese wine was a perfect pairing as well. Stuffed squid was to die for. I’ll certainly be back when I’m back in town!

    Interesting wine list. I ended up with the mint tea served in a sillver tea pot. Nice touch. The Montepulciano was a little sweet for my dining companion. Unfortunately while I was looking forward to a tagine better than I make at home we were dissapointed. Both the duck and the lamb were a little dry. Charging extra for couscous is a bit aggressive on how they price their food. The cauliflower appetizer was undercooked and boring.

    We've eaten at Khamsa numerous times, because of its unique and delicious food, friendly service, creative wine list, and overall good value. There are plenty of veg options, as well as chicken, lamb, and fish/seafood items. The food is authentically seasoned and made with great care. Khamsa is an excellent choice whether you're looking for someplace quiet or a spot to enjoy dinner with a few friends.

    About 50 years ago, there was a Moroccan restaurant in San Francisco that had the most delicious bastilla, so I decided to try it at Khamsa, even though ordinarily we follow a vegetarian diet. (Can't anyone make a vegetarian version?) But this was disappointing. The pastry was all right, but the filling was dry and fairly tasteless. My husband had grilled calamari, which he enjoyed. We shared a vegetable tagine, which was fine, though nothing special. We were eating early in order to attend a performance at the Opera House, so we were the only ones on the patio, which was very pleasant. Indoors has a nice atmosphere, though who eats indoors these days? The service was friendly and competent but we won't be returning.

    Lovely atmosphere but the food did not have the usual fantastic flavors of Morocco. The lemon chicken was very dry. The best dish we got was the honey lamb shank. Tasty and tender.
