Keys on the Green Ratings and Reviews
When I made the reservation, I didn't know there was a special menu for New Year's Eve. I was planning to get a chicken dish for about $20, but instead had to choose from a special menu for $65. For that amount, I would think coffee would be included, but was charged for that on top of the $65. I came away from the dinner really regretting I spent so much. I wish I would have known about the $65 menu when I made the reservation.
We celebrated my mother in laws birthday here and couldn’t have been more pleased. The food was excellent and the service attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself had charming holiday decor and a delightful atmosphere. Try the lobster ravioli with jumbo shrimp. I melted with glee over this dish!
Food was disappointing. Also when I called about menu for xmas eve they did not say it was prix fix access limited menu. They should have said. My steak and lobster tail were tiny. The osso buco was off and had to be exchanged for a "rack of lamb" which was exceptionally tasty but super small. It should be at least 5 ribs to make a rack. Also it was from NZ and Colorado has amazing lamb. Use local.
Christmas Eve dinner for $50 per person. Soup, meat, and dessert were good. They served a few tablespoons of mashed potatoes with nothing on them, not even butter. Also, the serving of vegetables was small and they used frozen veggies.
The dinner was not worth it due to the potatoes and vegetables.
We thoroughly enjoyed our family-of-6 gathering for an Early Christmas Dinner at Keys On The Green. We loved the Christmas-Rustic Atmosphere/Décor... and the awesome fireplace created the perfect ambiance for our "Meal In The Mountains". The service and food were wonderful. Thank you! [As an aside... we have lived in Evergreen for 23 years and we only dined at Keys On The Green during the summer months... we are happy to have experienced it in the Winter!]
I have dined here many times over the last couple of years and I have never been disappointed. I like my beef cooked R to MR...and I always get it the way I request it.
Side dishes are yummy. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
This week, as we just were entering the restaurant a huge herd of elk came by to dine on the adjacent golf course. Lots of young elk playing. It was so much fun to watch.
We drove to Evergreen to pick out a Christmas tree so I made reservations because of the good reviews. Little did I know it would turn out to be one of the best family evenings we have had in a long time. We arrived early and they worked fast to get us a table. Beautiful Christmas decorations and so cozy with the fireplace. Food was so great and the atmosphere was festive. The owner paid special attention to my granddaughter and carried her around to show her the decorations at the same time giving equal attention to all the other patrons. A wonderful, delicious holiday evening. I'm looking forward to going back in the summer to sit on their patio!
We had a great Thanksgiving dinner. The food was great and plentiful and the service was excellent. I would recommend Keys on the Green to anyone. You will enjoy everything from the rustic decor to the great food, drinks and service. Definitely on our go back to list!!
2016 Thanksgiving Dinner was excellent. 2017 Thanksgiving Dinner was disappointing - turkey was served in big chunks, and not trimmed well, gravy and stuffing were lukewarm, and the gravy was blah. Just not what we expected after having pitch perfect good last year.
Wow. Old and stuffy is the best way to describe this place. Had never been before. Doubt I would ever go back. All the other tables were older folks ordering steaks and baked potatoes. Carpet on the floor. Very dated decor. My husband said yea that's what a public golf course restaurant looks like. Ha. I got the $15 beet salad. So small. It was good but for $15 it should have been big enough to be a meal not a side salad.
On the plus side, we were seated right away and our server was pleasant and attentive. It was all downhill from there. Sticky table, stale rolls, meager side salad, tuna entree served without sauce, etc. This restaurant is fine for lunch but I'll never go back for dinner. It was very disappointing.
Very disappointing. Waiter was unprofessional. Nice but needed training. Bread very mediocre. Shrimp scampi was very salty. Pork chop was well done and dry..... ordered medium. Steelhead trout was tasteless and not fresh. Forgot baked potato that was ordered with trout. Had to wait for fourth persons plate for a long period. Others were almost done eating when last plate arrived. Coffee after dinner was served lukewarm and we had to share one spoon between 4 people to stir coffee. Dessert was our last hope. Creme brûlée probably was a mix... no body, key lime pie and chocolate cake was mediocre assumed just purchased from general supply house. Overall very disappointing. We were expecting much more for the price and menu description. Was not a fun dining experience all the way around.
Although we were seated at a particularly dark table near the bar, our experience at Keys was otherwise quite positive. The food was very good, and our server was friendly, informative and efficient, on point in all respects. She recommended the trout. We all had it and thought it was delicious: moist, tasty, expertly prepared, and well presented. Needless to say, we will be returning, if for no other reason to try other dishes, but I think we will request a window table next time or better yet sit outside.
I live in Evergreen and frequently come here because I enjoy the food and the service immensely. I had my teenage grandson from San Diego with me and I knew the food would make him very happy. We had a large, noisy group next to us so that was most unpleasant.
It was a good evening and the food was delicious and the waitress was very helpful.
My girlfriends and I had tickets for Evergreen Theater 7:30PM on Sat. I chose the restaurant as we had eaten here numerous times after golf and I knew locals come to eat and it was close to theater. There was a wedding upstairs and perhaps this affected the service but I was disappointed. Two in the group would not be able to make it until 6pm so we checked the menu online and had the group put in our order shortly before we arrived. Our drinks did not arrive until 20 minutes after ordering! Apparently the menu on the website is not current and one of the choices was not available but we were not told until 15+ minutes after the order was put in so one person's food was delayed.
The food was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. We were able to eat and get to the theater in time but the delays and having to ask about our drinks and track someone down to pay made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been.
I will say to the restaurant that when you are very busy, make sure drinks are out quickly. People will be much happier and more inclined to order a second. We did not order a second round of drinks as the waitress ignored our question if the second drink would take another 20 minutes to arrive.
Even with the delays experienced this time, I would still go back and would recommend to friends. Go with a laid back attitude and plenty of time.
