How could I have missed this place for the past 25 years?
We decided to give KEY ON THE GREEN a try when our Valentine's Day plans fell through. It was too late to go there on February 14th, but we were able to get reservations for February 16th instead.
When we arrived on time for our reservation, we were greeted with a friendly and welcoming smile and immediately seated next to the cozy stone fireplace. The atmosphere was Rustic Mountain Lodge style and since it is a small establishment, there was no crowd (even though all the tables were filled to capacity) and the entire atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.
The service was fast and the staff was attentive and accurate. They made one insignificant mistake in our order and provided us with a drink on the house to make up for it. I didn't have to draw their attention to the error nor did I have to ask for compensation. They caught the mistake themselves and offered a free drink without us asking for it.
The chairs were comfortable and the huge, rustic, 4-sided fireplace meant that we were able to enjoy our meal and most tables were close to the lovely fire.
This is not a "party place" but a sweet little nook in the mountains for a special meal that allows for conversation and companionship. It was a real win for us.
Our meal was delicious - cooked and seasoned to perfection.
We'll be going back to this place the next time we want to dine out.
This was a prix fixe 3 course dinner for Valentine's day. The food was very good as always. We love the old log lodge decor with animal photos, elkhorn chandeliers and huge stone fireplace. Very cozy and inviting. Unfortunately, our waitress was annoying. She spoke in a patronizing voice, asking all questions as "we"--How are we this evening? What would we like to drink? Have we decided on our order? And then the busser asked, "Are you still working on that?" Eating a lovely dinner is not work. These folks need some training in service etiquette.
It appears Keys has changed their menu. Most options were served “over linguine” and seemed to lack any sort of unique flavors. Our order of shrimp scampi didn’t have shrimp. The wedge salad, while expensive, was awful. Not truly a wedge. The burger was so so but might have been the safest thing on the menu. I know the owners have recently opened another restaurant in town so hopefully they are just adjusting to the change. Our waitress was good but she delivered the scampi sans shrimp and admitted later the kitchen knew it was wrong?? We ate with our jackets on because the room we were sitting in was so cold.
I do hope Keys figures it out as Evergreen has a shortage of reliable restaurants.
Very good but didn’t appreciate a $3 split charge on the salad. With $15 salad it was a little much.
Overall the dining experience was just okay. The atmosphere was the best part of the evening. The food was just average with an above average cost. Desert was very disappointing. I would not recommend this venue to any of my friends.
Outstanding service. Excellent food with many choices. Great atomosphere.
Excellent meal and service. Really enjoyed our meal!
Always superb service. Delicious entrees. All with the ambiance of the mountains!
We've come to Keys on The Green for years usually for special occasions - but if we're "in the Neighborhood" We'll stop by. Would co;me by more often but we live 30 miles away. The experience is never hit - or - miss as with some popular restaurants but always exceptional.
Food and service are always good. Prices is reasonable. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Keys is warm and cozy, like an old mountain Lodge. Staff is friendly and efficient. My filet mignon was done perfectly, and my husband enjoyed his prime rib. Keys is a great place.
We like going to Keys on the Green. Nice atmosphere.
Historic building and one of few places in Evergreen to get consistently good food and good service. Not fancy but reasonably priced. We go frequently for lunch and Sunday brunch. Friendly staff.
Great ambiance. Wonderful food and service. A special evening out for our family.
Staff is always very accommodating. Great place to meet up with friends.
Keys has maintained a quality restaurant for the past several years and our dinner date was very nice. We like the rustic ambience and my wife always wants to sit by the fireplace. My special lamb shank was perfectly done and garnished.
The walleye was excellent and the way they prepared it. Wish there could be lake fish on the menu more often. Food was great and so was the service as usual.
As always, our experience at Keys was wonderful. We were seated next to the fireplace, which was perfect for the chilly evening. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and the waitress treated us to a slice of delicious chocolate cake. We are looking forward to bringing our out-of-state guests when they are here at Christmastime.
we love to dine at Keys. The food is always wonderful as is the service, but the setting is what makes it stand out even more. No competition in Evergreen!
The quality of the food was only exceeded by the excellent customer service.
Great outdoor seating
Had a wonderful time here celebrating my mother’s 90th Birthday. Our waitress, Gabrielle, was very attentive and friendly; the food, excellent; and the ambience, very cozy and inviting - not to mention that we made new friends, too! Will definitely come back often. Worth the beautiful drive from Denver!
Great experience! I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
Busy night. Service slower than usual, food took longer to prepare. Even with reservations, we were seated next to the front door (4 of us) and it was quite noisy. Not our usual experience but the food was excellent.
Family visiting from out of state.
We had a party of 10 (8 adults and 2 children). All the food came out hot and very good. The restaurant and staff was very accomodating to a party that had 2 very rambunctious children ages 2 and 3.
Keys on the Green is unusual because it is a very good restaurant on a golf course. The food is traditional with a variety of appetizers and entrees. You can select beef or seafood items or a couple of items in between. The crab cakes are very good. The mussels are excellent. I love the strawberry and spinach salad. The prime rib (Friday and Saturday only) and lobster ravioli are excellent, also. For a short wine list the variety is good and the prices extremely reasonable. The service is attentive. In good weather the new patio dining area is very nice.
While you wouldn't expect much from a restaurant at a golf course, the food is excellent, the service is very good and I have never had a dining experience there that I don't count as first rate. Sometimes you find the nicest things in the most unexpected places.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that we were entertained by a dozen elk right outside of the window.
We enjoyed a pleasant evening, sitting outside on the patio, watching the elk. Our meal was delicious as usual. The service was excellent.
It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio watching the golfers. So nice to have the creek nearby too!
Really enjoyed brunch on the patio food was delicious
Great place for Sunday brunch and get together with a few couples. Sat out on the deck with a wonderful view of the golf course. The menu was great, good selections. The food was better than good but not great.
Food was great! Atmosphere on the patio would have been great as well but there was a golf tournament and several drunk patrons that were extremely load and obnoxious.
We went for a family birthday celebration on a Saturday afternoon. Even with a golf tournament winding down, we were thoughtfully seated in a quiet nook away from the madding crowd and enjoyed our solitude.
Great atmosphere and food
Keys on the Green is in a lovely location, and stunning, historical atmosphere, like a beautifully set Hobbit's Lair. Great wine selection.
The food used to be better. Sometime in the last year the Fish and Chips went from 3 pieces of cod down to 2, the price did not go down. We mostly go for the patio now. The setting is very nice.
Sat on patio and perfect day with my mom
My sister and I went to Keys to celebrate her birthday. We sat on the patio and it is beautiful there. We both ordered the trout with the risotto and both were very good. Since it was my sister's birthday, our wonderful waitress offered us the choice of one dessert. We chose the lemon cake with whip cream and it was delicious.
I loved the quite peaceful atmosphere, the food is always just so perfect, and the waiter was so kind to intuitively bring us a piece of cake for our anniversary (he just saw it from our exchange of cards)!! So thoughtful.
