Kevin Taylor's At The Opera House Ratings and Reviews
We had our wedding reception here 7 years ago and come back at least once a year! It is a beautiful space underneath the Ellie Caulkins Theatre. Terribly romantic, quiet, great food, and as a Denver native, I’m proud of the theatrical history there! We highly recommend Kevin Taylor’s!!!!!
This was a 3 course prix fixe menu prior to the opera. Excellent scallops and filet. We had 2 different salads - both terrific. Lovely service - we will go here before every opera as it makes the whole evening very special.
Only comment - could have a better selection of white wine, specifically Chardonnay.
Wow, we were totally pleased with the 3-course meal and selections at Kevin Taylor's prior to the opera. What a bargain for $45! And nice, reasonably-priced wines, too. We'll be sure to return more often. Bravo! Service and attentiveness were exceptional, too.
This is the 2nd time we've had dinner at Kevin Taylor's at the Opera House - first for their Valentines Day prix fix menu a year ago, and this time for Restaurant Week. Both times were outstanding - food was excellent, service was great. Everyone is so friendly; the restaurant is beautiful (& it's a nice, large space, so it didn't feel crowded at all for Restaurant Week like some other spots we visited). Can't wait to go back, and looking forward to the new Kevin Taylor restaurant to open up in Broomfield soon!
Our second time visiting. One word... Incredible! Our server, Troutlin was personable and informative with a great personality. And the food?? Oh my! Great presentation and Incredible flavors. A wonderful place for any special occasion or if you are looking for a great food place.
Excellent food and service. Flavor of the different courses was outstanding and portion size was great - enough to fill. Would definitely come back again when they are open, great options to choose from for each course (they limited on dining as they host many events throughout the year, found this out during our meal).
Two of the three in our group thoroughly enjoyed our dinners (steak/short ribs and salmon), but one had bass with lentils and felt the dish was too salty from the lentils. We all tasted some and agreed. The steak/short ribs could have been a larger portion for the cost. The lemon cake was fairly dry and had very little lemon flavor. Service as always was flawless; the waiter did offer another dessert in lieu of the lemon cake.
First visit with friends who knew the restaurant. Dining week menu portions for risotto appetizer which was extraordinary. Entrees were very special, steak, roasted salmon with very nice sweet potato. The parsnip crisps and parsnip mousse were really delicious. The pork belly was nothing special, not crisp and meat was tough. The macaroni with gruyere and bacon was quite tasty, could not finish it. Lobster crab appetizer did not taste fresh. Desserts lovely in appearance but just ok. There were two complimentary "petit fours" that were spectacular.
Head waiter and waiter provided lovely, caring service--very attentive. Reassured us we could stay as long as we liked. Charming setting. We hear that one should pair a Best of Broadway production with a meal here.
Visited first time during restaurant week. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Honestly, they need a new pastry chef. The desserts were underwhelming; lemon cake was very dry and tasteless for example. The restrooms need major attention. Very bad odor, 1960's toilet paper and no soap in 3 out of 4 dispensers. I will go back, particularly for a pre-show dinner since I enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much. But ... I wish I could have rated the restaurant a 5. I did leave feedback for the manager, but I haven't heard anything...
Never heard of this place. It is hidden but it is by far one of the best restaurants I have gone to. Staff was attentive and friendly. Right as we arrived someone greeted us with a smile. Servers were amazing. Food Runner was great he knew everything. Food was amazing and we would definelty be going back again soon! Wonderful concept for a restaraunt.
Perfect choice for dinner before an early play at the DCTC. Because it was restaurant week we enjoyed three courses for $35.00 and wine and beer by the glass. Service was timely and excellent. Food was delicious. Would recommend a small plaque on the door that doors will open at 5. PM.
Kevin Taylor's at the Opera House is always a delight. I dine here mainly once a year for Restaurant week. I would definitely consider this place for special occasions as the cost is a bit high. I would definitely dine here more often if finances weren't of bigger concern. ;)
Kevin Taylor's is absolutely our favorite restaurant for Restaurant Week. It is a great value with exceptionally good food and a nice variety to choose from on the menu. The service is great. The restaurant is also as quiet as any you will find, making it possible to have a nice conversation, even if people in your party are hearing impaired.
Amazing food and even better atmosphere. Most restaurants, especially on Valentine's Day, cram as many people as possible into their space. Kevin Taylor's seating is open and comfortable. The option to have the professional bartenders and/or managers pick the wine pairing with each dish is must have. They are knowledgeable about the wine and do a great job of pairing. Highly recommend this place.
