We had an early dinner before Hamilton. It could not have been more lovely. The room was quiet, with space between tables so it was easy to hold a conversation. The service was impeccable, yet comfortable, at once formal and informal. The food was absolutely wonderful. Our server was careful to get us in and out in plenty of time to make the performance. It was just a terrific dining experience.
My husband and I love this place!! The crab cakes were not good but everything else was very good. We brought a couple with us who had never been. They rated it 8 out of 10. We were celebrating my birthday. We came for my husband's birthday and the waiter was extremely attentive and remembered to wish him a happy birthday. This time the service was not as good, but hey that happens. We love coming here so when you are open to the public, we try to be there. And great chimichurri sauce!
Dinner before seeing "Hamilton". Service was very good, but did forget to deliver an extra soup spoon. The meals had great flavor, but the beets were very underdone...couldn't cut them with a knife. Otherwise it makes for a great dining experience and well worth going there for dinner. You should try it if you haven't already.
My wife and I both felt our meals were subpar. Her halibut was over cooked, and my crabcakes tasted Like they had been cooked at too high a temp. The jus for my lamb tasted a bit “chemically.”
On the other hand, the wait staff was outstanding! In fact, it was the best service we have gotten at any restaurant.
Filet was more like pot roast. Average food (standard potatoes and crab cakes). Interesting ambiance that was not originally designed as restaurant, but unique - very open and large space with costumes from the plays and musicals at the Denver Center for Performing Arts. Easy to get reservation last minute on a Friday night before the show (Hamilton)...
Great service, good cocktails and the food was excellent. We did the 3 course menu prior to a show. They served us at a nice pace that got us to the play on time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
After 32years of theater tickets, we finally made it to Kevin Taylor's at the Opera and the meal was amazing. The setting, the staff and the food we're all flawless. I can't wait to go again next time they are open and will continue to go to the other restaurants in the group.
Very fine food. Over-assiduous waiter interrupted our conversation too much. We appreciate being checked but not so frequently.
I love this restaurant! This was my 6th time there and it has never disappointed. The ambiance, the service, the cuisine...all spectacular. It is a little piece of NYC and the perfect dining experience pre-show at the DCPA. The prix fixe is an incredible value and I highly recommend it. I had the foie gras, diver scallops and the cutest little blueberry pie for dessert. Fantastic!
Beautiful atmosphere, and attentive waitress that helped with special requests gracefully.
First time at KT's and overall pleased. The only disappointment was that the blueberry pie was served at room temperature. I suapect the crust would have been tastier served warm.
LOVED the steak tartar!
Excellent all the way around in decor, food and ambience
We went to the restaurant before the theater for a performance of Hamilton. Everything was wonderful. I’m so sorry the restaurant didn’t have more patrons to enjoy the wonderful food. I also wish the restaurant would be open more often. It’s one of my favorites,
The tasting menu for Spring 2018 was delicious. Our waiter was fabulous, and he did a great job making sure that we had plenty of time to eat and make our play. I love this place and I would definitely come back not just for a pre-theater dinner but for slower dining too.
Dinner was delicious, service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. Terrific place to dine before a play. We will be back!
Our party of four enjoyed the Denver Dining Deals offered by the restaurant. Food was delicious, the service by Amber and her colleagues could not have been more personable, and we all agreed it was a great experience.
Restaurant week and they still did it up right. Every dish was fabulous. Five of us. All loved our choices. Thanks for putting your best foot forward and offering a deal.
My friends and I went during restaurant week and were not disappointed. The three course meal (we shared each of our courses with one another) were all delicious and the entrees were generously portioned. The tables are spaced apart from each other, so the atmosphere is one of quiet ambiance, just what you're looking for in a night out with friends. Service was impeccable and we didn't have to worry about getting to our DCPA performance on time, since we were right next door. All in all, a perfect evening!
The service was beyond great. I really enjoyed my food too.
Food was outstanding, service very attentive
Food and service are great. Recommend wine pairing for the Denver Restaurant Week menu.
We went prior to show for Denver Restaurant Week. They had nice options and everything was delicious!!
Absolutely awesome. Food was incredible and service was smart and engaging.
We dined at Kevin Taylor during restaurant week and before seeing a play. Both I had the squash soup with beets which was light and lovely although a tad bit salty. Sweetie had a salad with pear and goat cheese that was well chilled and crunchy. I had salmon that was light and perfect and he had the pork tenderloin that was crispy on the outside and cooked just right. Came with a cornbread side that was very interesting and different and seemed well paired. I had the coconut cheesecake which was light and lovely with the thinnest slice of dried pineapple. He had the chocolate slice of heaven. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the waitstaff was fun and attentive but not hovering. Can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I came here on a "date night". We visited during Denver Restaurant Week to sample their tasting menu. It was fantastic! I had the roasted carrot risotto, roast pork tenderloin, and red velvet creme brulee. The risotto was probably the best I've had; a perfect mix of savory and slightly sweet. The pork tenderloin was perfectly cooked and very tender. The cranberry-sage jus was a good compliment. The red velvet creme brulee was delicious. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, and the lovely light-studded ceiling made it feel almost like dining under the stars. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
REALLY disappointing restaurant week menu with BLAND bass over a bed of too many favs beans and boring tomato romesco...waitress could not recommend a wine that paired well so they comped the glass after i didnt eat the fish....deserts always a high point and hit the mark ok here
Beautiful location. Open to public for special events and Hamilton playing during March. Loved the location, and service. Very busy. Highly recommended.
Incredible and creative food. Amazing service. Will absolutely be going again.
Delicious. The food was delicious!! We visited for Restaurant week and received great value and fabulously presented and delicious!! food!!! Often, food is pretty but not all that great tasting, or too loud, or .... Kevin Taylor at the Opera's food was a very nice, very quiet dining experience. We don't quite understand - only a few dinners? Not a regular restaurant? But well-worth the effort to figure out when they are serving and enjoy a meal. It's a pretty, interesting and very quiet venue, perfect for a private party if they do that.... Food was tasty and well- prepared - carrot risotto and squash soup as appetizers, lamb loin and lamb sausage with risotto and pork tenderloin as entrees were standouts. We like desserts but don't always indulge, and the pastry chef, Sara is an ARTIST. A very nice meal!!!! THANK YOU!!
Great staff! Great atmosphere. Very quiet and we could visit without screaming at each other.
I remember that they used to have high quality and innovative dishes but this time I was so disappointed dinning at Kevin Taylor at Opera House.
We have eaten at Kevin Taylor's at the Opera House a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is always out of this world, and the service is always stellar! Since they are only open to the public a limited number of days per year, it seems the staff go out of their way to make it a great experience for their guests. Thank you!
Very unique and fun atmosphere. Exclusive in that they are only open as a restaurant a limited number of times a year
The food, the service, the atmosphere, the drinks---everything was great! I highly recommend Kevin Taylor's. Looking forward to going back soon.
I have always wanted to eat at the Kevin Taylor. This was my first visit. I took advantage of the Restaurant Week. The food was fantastic. The service excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful. This will be a place that I will dine at again.
As good as it gets
We had our wedding reception here 7 years ago and come back at least once a year! It is a beautiful space underneath the Ellie Caulkins Theatre. Terribly romantic, quiet, great food, and as a Denver native, I’m proud of the theatrical history there! We highly recommend Kevin Taylor’s!!!!!
We loved our dinner here. The service wad great and the food was outstanding.
