Kettner’s Townhouse is a restaurant and Champagne Bar with 33 bedrooms, in a historic Georgian building in London’s Soho.

Established in 1867 by Auguste Kettner, Kettner’s was one of the first restaurants in London to serve French food. The French restaurant at Kettner’s Townhouse has a menu inspired by the history of the building, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and high tea, using locally sourced ingredients from the UK.

We had a lovely dinner there, the pre theatre menu is shockingly good value, options ordered from all day menu so lots of choice. My cured sea bream starter was refreshing and different to usual salmon or trout that is often on menus. Duck main cooked very well but slightly salty, would probably ask kitchen to use lighter hand with salt as our chips and cauliflower sides had same problem along with wild sea bass. Our pink grapefruit dessert with champagne was delightful. We were given some lovely chocolates for the birthday girl. The service was amazing! Welcome back Kettners! Looking forward to another visit very soon.

Nice food, good service, but they have managed to squeeze in so many tables in that you can’t have a conversation unless you really shout, as there’s too many people for a room with such low ceilings.
Noise completely killed my experience, wouldn’t recommend.

Lovely atmosphere and really nice food. Very comfortable place to spend an evening - the hours passed us by as we chatted away over dinner.

Overall, a very good lunch. Table service was really good and they looked after us well for our wedding anniversary. However it was spoiled a little when the waitress spilled water all over the plate and table. More experienced table staff would be better. Nevertheless, I would still go back again and I would recommend Kettners.

Kettners at last has reopened - but it seems they have a few service lessons to learn. Our table was not ready when we arrived and the service was patchy. The food however was worth the wait. Will I give it another chance? Probably, I love the venue, so much history there!

The food and service were fantastic but the dining room felt quite cramped with tables too close together for comfort.

I am so glad Kettners is open again and feels very the same. Great atmosphere service cocktails. The food was to die for so so delicious and so simple. Service was increasingly felt very special and really would love to go back very soon. Thank you!
