Beautiful huge space, delicious food, great service.
Ate the duck meatball, the avocado toast with burrata, the thai roasted chicken. All yummy! Drinks were delicious too.

Kettner Exchange has become our favorite restaurant. Small plates are full of flavor. They keep the favorites on the menu and rotate others giving guests their favorites and something new and fresh.

Service has always been excellent. This time we meet Erica, who was delightful and engaging. We appreciate people who can engage in conversation, understand and can talk about the food, and are interesting. Thank you Erica.

Very nice place, very nice ambience. Surprised that the pre drinks out on the terrace had to be paid before we sat down at our table in the restaurant. Should be more simplier if they could offer one check. Our waitress was a little off, we ordered one starter and got a complete other one...

As always our experience was excellent. We had friends in from Denver and they plan to return.

Kettner exchange was underwhelming. The atmosphere was amazing for a dinner date with the nautical theme and low lighting. My husband and I went for a late dinner and ordered the Pig Mac, Thai Chicken and fish tacos. The Pig Mac was overly greasy and the meat was undercooked (bright pink coloring). The fish tacos were standard fare and not worth the listed price.

The Thai Chicken was delicious and was our final dish of the meal. I would recommend the chicken but would not decide to come back to this restaurant to eat again.

Enjoyed drinks in patio...enjoyed dj music ( we are old). Shared a cocktail table. Visited with a visitor to SD. Enjoyed for 2nd year a Mother’s Day dinner. Our young adult grandson joined us... he commented more than once he enjoyed the ambience, food and fun atmosphere. He grew up in Colorado and we enjoy taking him to new venues. Our server was good, enjoyed last yr’s male server more. Food was great again. We will return.

Inside is very cool looking but on the darker side, so good for a special date or couples dinner. Rooftop is a lot more lively with music, lights, open lounge seating and glowing bar. Business down below, party up top. Spicy Shrimp and Red Shrimp Garlic noodles were the move!

Fabulous dinner and great ambience. We sat upstairs and had cocktails, wine and dinner. We were a party of 3 and the waitress recommended ordering 8 small plates. We ordered 7 and had plenty of food. The ahi tuna pizza with truffle oil was amazing as was the lamb noodles, crispy shrimp, outrageous kale salad, every meal was amazing! Definitely will be back

Food was great but I think they were short staffed when we came so service was very slow. They are also not so accommodating on customization. I’ll probably give this restaurant another shot simply because the food was very tasty!

We had the most amazing time at KE! The food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and accomodating, and the ambiance and decor were inventive and breathtaking. I cannot stress how great everything was, we had the shared plates as well as a few entrees since there were a few of us with big appetites and they were very pleased! The waitress Erika, was very efficient and gave us a "tour" of the menu, she recommended some great share plates such as the octopus and the lamb and we were very pleased that we tried them. Overall, we will have this place in our minds and our "must go back" spots whenever we come back here.

Really had a great and smooth experience here. The baker is only $8 and you can leave your car there until 3am, which allowed us to go somewhere else after dinner. The food is amazing! Sometimes with these sorts of restaurants you get more fancy than tasty food. Our food was amazing, so flavorful and unique.

Our server was always very responsive when we needed something, but not overwhelming on the roaming around. It made our visit much more pleasant!

We will definitely be coming again soon.

First time there and it won't be our last. We came down from Santa Barabra for the night to see a show. I saw the menu and immediately made reservations. We were a little late to our reservation due to traffic but Kelly was very helpful and let us move our reservation to 30 minutes later. We made it sooner than expected and we were seated right away. Loved the corner table we sat at as it was very romantic. Ryan our server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu and gave his honest opinions on thing and we appriciate that very much. Ryan gave great suggestions, As he recommended 4-5 shared plates which was exactly perfect for us. The quail and Spicy shrimp and foie gras toast were amazing! All our dishes really were but those were our favs. The chunky monkey dessert was so beautiful I didn't wanna eat it! But ofcourse we did and it was delicious. Can't wait for our next visit and we'll definitely request Ryan to be our server

Cocktails were amazing! Best mezcal drinks I have ever had. Happened to go when there was live jazz and I loved it. If you can sit on the rooftop part the ambience is amazing.

I had eaten here only once before with some great friends, and had an enjoyable evening then. This time it was with business colleagues and they were certainly impressed with the quality and diversity of the small plates. Great bar, but a limited wine list....
I will be going back there in June, this time with customers!

My babe and I flew up to SD for the weekend. Kettner Exchange was recommended by my boss. We wanted to find a romantic place to eat and the Kettner Exchange delivered. We made reservations on their website around 4 pm Saturday and they had an 8:45 pm spot available. The ambiance was almost perfect, big open windows overlooking the city and dark lighting to set the mood. It's a little noisy/ lively and high energy but it was Saturday night in a collage town. There's a bar/ lounge/ dance area downstairs and also an outside lounge area upstairs.
Our waiter, Ryan, was very attentive and he suggested 4 dishes to try but first...drinks. I started off with a glass of Merlot and babe had a Long Island Iced Tea which tasted watered down. The plates are served Tapa style. We ordered 3 from the little plates. the Kale Salad (my favorite with lot's of complex flavors) followed by the Duck Meatball (OMG! moist and anything with polenta is a big hit with me) Spicy Shrimp (not spicy at all, lacking flavor, I felt like it needed a dipping sauce) and from the big plate, Skirt Steak (Babe's favorite. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly medium rare and perfectly melts in your mouth good). We left happy and full.
I would recommend trying this place out, maybe before the 8 pm crowd if you want it a little less noisy. Would I come again? Absolutely!!!!

We went here with a party of 7 for my husband's birthday and had a great time! They were reluctance to let us fit 7 into the corner booth for 5 but it worked perfectly for us and was way better than a long table as we were all very together, could hear each other, etc. We had great service from Jennifer and ending up trying and sharing a ton of small plates and lots of fun cocktails. It made for a great celebration!

The ambiance and service is just the beginning... when your food gets there... get ready for an adventure. Order a few small plates and share. So many flavors, and in portions where you'll be satisfied, but not overwhelmingly full. The dessert menu leaves a something to be desired.

Outstanding place! My guest and I arrived ontime and was swiftly brought up to our table where we had delicious food and drinks. The waitress was very sweet and made us feel very welcome. She gave us just enought time to order our drinks. We talked for a while and then the waitress came to us to asked what we would like to have to eat. We ordered and shortly after the food came, and it was perfect.

The food has real flavor that pops in your mouth. The spicy shrimp and the big eye tuna pizza ( non really a pizza in the traditional sense) are our favorites. Servers are engaging and entertaining. Very pleasant.

Atmosphere is lively but not so loud you can’t talk to you guests without yelling.

We had a 6:00 pm reservation for five of us, including three kids, on a Wednesday evening, band started playing at 6:30....we didn’t know there was live music. They were loud, not pleasant for our family dining experience. Service was slow, our server didn’t pay much attention. Food was good...

Ambiance: Great(it's really what you are paying for)

Food: Tasty but really small servings

Bar: Slow to get your order(15min), drinks were good

Service: Got seated 30 min late and then an hour into the meal was told we had 30 min to finish up before they needed us to move so they could set up for dinner. Due to fact that this was for Easter Brunch, I really think this was unacceptable for a place that is as expensive as KE. I was disappointed to say the least. With the other choices in the area I don't think I will go back.
