Unsure / Intimidated / New to Japanese cuisine = Don't be, you will be guided with a gentle overview of what to expect or a reassured statement of "you'll want to try this"...

Food = A wonderful evening and culinary journey of a perfectly prepared and served 9 course Japanese meal. The resturant is bright and new (spotless) with appropriate decor maintaining your focus on the master piece which is in front of you.

Service = My wife and I strongly believe we should stick with what we are good at so leaving the decision making and beaverage mixing to the highly trained in unchartered waters was the perfect choice. She thought she only liked Chardonnay, no longer, my wife has 4 new favorites.

Cost = If you are looking for the highest quality service, food and knowledgable servers to explain what you are consuming, then the value is spot on. If you are looking for something less then this; visit the many locations in this are that "everyone" goes to eat. If you want to treat him or her or yourself to something "Special" try Kenzo. This was our first time and most defiantly not our last. Thank you / Arigato!

The most amazing dining experience we have ever had. The complexity of the flavors of each bite were mind blowing and incredible. We loved every bite of it and the service was professional and friendly. BTW, sit at the bar!

Beautiful presentations entice the eyes but leave the palate wanting. Subtle and balanced flavors were found in each bite of the mostly fish tasting menu. While pleasant enough, the small imami portions did not rouse my tastebuds until the tasty Waygu beef arrived. Perhaps in fairness this visit to Kenzo occurred right after my week in Kauai, where I enjoyed excellent fresh, local fish almost every day. Nonetheless, the service at Kenzo was outstanding. The decor is brightly upbeat, simple and elegant . One unusually special touch is the color brochure of the featured menu items that accompanied the personalized printed menu page.

Kenzo was amazing. A true treat and something out of the ordinary. It was worth every penny. We loved the ambiance and the education about true Japanese Kaseki menus.

A surprise. If you want to taste authentic Japanese cuisine without having to travel to Japan, this is the place. The chefs are trained in Japan. I would compare this restaurant to French Laundry for Japanese formal dining in Napa. Japanese formal dining dishes are quite different from the everyday dishes one finds in a Japanese restaurant. Expect your palate to be stimulated. My wife and I loved every dish. We have lived in Japan and are very familiar with Japanese foods. We had the Kaiseki course. My favorite was the wagyu with sea urchin. Sea urchin is not my favorite but, their selection was not briny and tasted sweet, without an after taste. You can tell that the ingredients are selected carefully and the best are used. Each dish is prepared perfectly. The fish used for sashimi and sushi are excellent. If you love sushi, you can order the Sushi Kaiseki course. The fish is fresh. At the end of the course, the desert was also very good. We loved the honey ice cream. We were both full at the end. We will definitely dine here again.

Very authentic Japanese meal and very expensive! $225 per person and entire group has to order same tasting menu, no exceptions. Menu for 2 with a lower priced bottle of saki was $770. I like my fish a little more salty/savory, but they made no alterations to my only request. Other service was exceptional, 6 guests in restaurant to 6 staff, an experience for sure, even the bartop wood and wallpaper and sushi chef is imported from Japan. But twice I’ve had the premium chef tasting at Nobu and was asked what I liked and chef actually incorporated it into tasting menu with sake tasting included and loved it, and paid half the price of this place. So hmmmm, I’m left feeling like it was not worth the $ for me.

The food was beyond amazing. A Japanese version of the French laundry. Service was impeccable with plates being placed in front of us in perfect synchronization. Price was much too high for regular dining.

Yes, Kenzo is pricey but honestly that was the best traditional Japanese style sushi dinner I have ever had in my life, and I just ate at Masa in NYC a month or two ago. These guys are incredible in every single category and simply one of the best places I've ever been. HIGHLY recommended.

Spectacular meal. I do a lot of traveling in Japan and this is as good as it gets ANYWHERE. It's authentic Japanese and meant to be savored. I hope the local economy can support such a unique and exceptional dining experience.

Very interesting experience. We had a pre-fix menu which included sushi selections, some meat selections, and some other items which I may fail to describe adequately. We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed watching our fish being made. The atmosphere is pretty basic as I think that is the goal: focus on the food and the experience without too much distraction. We had the wine/sake pairing which gave a different wine or sake to each course. Needless to say there was plenty to drink, however for red wine drinkers there were few options. Service was excellent and attentive. Bring an expense account as well, as this could possibly be the most expensive meal offered in the valley. I wouldn't say it wasn't worth it, but just be prepared.

We were disappointed with this restaurant. It is very expensive and the price exceeded the value. First, there is actually too much food in the tasting, 12 pieces of sushi with rice is filling of itself, added to three desserts and appetizers it is more than needed for a good meal. Second, the quality was very good but did not exceed other similar themed restaurants. As a result the food was boring and tasted the same by the end of the meal. The pairings are fine, but I tired of the saki after a while. It is a lengthy dining experience and I was underwhelmed. I think serious Japanese food aficionados might find it more interesting.

This was our third meal there and a birthday celebration. The menu was customized to recognize the occasion (very nice touch). They keep very good records of food allergies and likes/dislikes. Although we are Japanese by heritage we have never been there and the restaurant acts as a great ambassador to the country and its people. We always have the kaiseki and wine and sake pairings that they recommend. I would never want to choose a certain wine or sake since their cuisine is their expertise. None of the items we had this time had ever been on the previous menus whenwe'd eaten there so when they say seasonal they really mean it.
