Kenzo is a proud recipient of a Michelin Star Award and Wine Spectator Restaurant Award of Excellence.
We sat at the counter where we could observe the chefs in action. Everyone was so very nice- we felt welcomed. The food is outstanding - the quality is beyond what I have experienced at any other Japanese restaurant. The flavors, care, tenderness, delicacy of everything made my mouth and soul happy.
Great food! Amazing sushi!!
The service fee is included in the bill, but I think they are expecting for additional tip.
Excellent food and service. This was our third time at Kenzo and we still greatly enjoyed the meal.
Amazing service and the freshest ingredients prepared and balanced by top notch chefs in a simplistic and modern environment. Hands down one of the best dinner services I've ever been to.
We have not one bad thing to say about our evening here
It was a first for both of us and we were celebrating my husband's birthday. The service and food were both 5 star. Thank you to the staff and chefs at Kenzos.
Very nice place
Great experience. Highly recommended. Soon to be 3 Michelin stars.
Fun trip for us foodies.
Very special anniversary dinner. Service included interesting cultural stories, meticulous timing, interesting preparations, the most lovely people. Loved every moment!
Amazing, great service, perfect food, great staff
We came in to celebrate my husband’s birthday and just to spend time together & we had a wonderful time dining at Kenzo. The ambiance was truly special and felt like we walked into a place in Japan. It was modern, clean, and minimalistic. The service was terrific and the attention we got was fantastic. They messed up and skipped a course but once we brought it to their attention they apologized several times and gave us a few extra perks which was not necessary but still appreciated. The food was truly great. It was authentic Japanese cuisine and each course was visually appealing. Not only did it look great, but it was the best Japanese and best sushi I’ve ever had. We were blown away by the experience and would recommend Kenzo to anyone.
Fantastic experience !!
Great food and service! Cannot wait to go back!
Arrived with high expectations, based on the Michelin review. All in all , no particular flaw, but certainly nothing revelatory about the meal. Wine list is particularly sparse(Their Kenzo Estate Rose was admittedly delicious). Sake's available were double the price they typically are. Most of the dishes were ascetically pleasing, but boring. The best course was the sushi course which was perfect. Desert was embarassingly mediocre, with one item described as " pancakes" inedible. Service was thoughtful and correct and with proper pace. Overall, Not much value here.
Excellent high end dining. Fantastic service with an amazing wine pairing. The food was good, but the wine pairing was the best part. The wine provided from the estate was fantastic, some of the best wine I have had with a pairing. I would highly recommend the service and the wine, food was good but did not stand out as it should for the level I expected.
Amazing food, fantastic service, and great sake and wine. Will definitely come back.
Delicious genuine Japanese food ''Washoku'' with a super hospitality. We can satisfy everytime we go.
I went to Kenzo to celebrate my husband’s birthday. When we arrived we were greeted by General Manager, Tomonori Iwao. Then we sat at the sushi bar counter where we had a great time talking with the sous chef, and even with Chef Kenji Miyaishi. The menu changes every season, so we had the Autumn Kaizeki menu (10 courses), and it was delicious! My favourite dishes were the Wagyu and the Bonito Tataki. We order a bottle of Sake, but you can also pair your dinner with Kenzo’s estate wines. Food is delicious, but service is outstanding. At the end, we were served a glass of Kenzo’s late harvest which was terrific. Great experience! Definitely I recommend it for a very special ocassion. This is a real japanese high class food experience. The whole crew are from Japan, you can tell by the quality of service, food preparation, attention... everything.
By far the best dining experience of our lives. Amazing food, fantastic staff and Nicholas was fantastic
We absolutely loved our dinner at Kenzo. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was top notch. The fish was some of the best we have ever tasted and each course was unique and flavorful. The wine pairing was Kenzo Estate wines was also fantastic and we will likely order some to enjoy on our own. They also did a great job adjusting the menu to accommodate my shellfish allergy while still allowing my husband to enjoy the shellfish dishes that he loves.
What a memorable dining experience! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm welcome by staff. We sat at the counter (highly recommend) and was served delicious sushi from Chef Kenji. We had the Autumn menu and it was fantastic! The dashi broth in the Akashi Pike Conger Owan was so comforting, a clear broth with an explosion of flavor. The Grilled Tilefish with sea urchin on top was scrumptious and the Waygu Tenderloin was melt in your mouth. Our servers Nick and Alexis was so knowledgeable and made our dinner experience extra enjoyable!
Authentic Kaiseki dinner in Napa...only change for American Palates is a Wagyu beef course.
Excellent wine and Sake pairing.
Will go again.
Awesome as always! New chef was great and so charming. 👍🏼👍🏼
Beautiful and well thought restaurant. Certainly deserves that One Star Michelin.
I would not want my friends to spend their time and money on this expensive restaurant. I can see that the owners do a lot of importing from Japan but for the price of this meal I did not expect such mediocre food.
One of the best meals I've had in many years. Authentic Japanese cuisine of the highest quality shipped directly from Japan. They have a set-menu, and it was an excellent choice for the special birthday occasion we were celebrating. The service was outstanding, as was the atmosphere and the ambiance. Definitely the most expensive meal I've ever had in my entire life, but every aspect of it was amazing. Highly recommend!
Kenzo Napa is a truly unique and special experience - a destination restaurant! Incredible attention to detail and service. Sitting at the chefs counter is particularly special because you can see all of the unique and authentic techniques used. Authentic, beautiful and extraordinary regional Japanese cuisine and ambiance!
This place is arguably the most authentic Japanese cuisine experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve had quite a number of Japanese cuisine around the world (save Japan itself). From the food itself, the presentation, the energy and professionalism of the staff (both dining room and kitchen), everything was outstanding. The waiter was quite the character, showed us a great time. We got a few drinks on the house (bottle of champagne, some sake and some sparkling Japanese wine), the three chefs (sushi, dessert, and main dining) came to explain some meals for us, it was overall A++. Highly recommended, but it is a spend. It is worth it though.
Fantastic dining experience!
The Kaiski menu is surprisingly good, we enjoyed each dish and the bottle of sake. The chef and the serve were attentive . The wagu beef as the finale was extremely amazing!
Everything from the food, service and ambiance was outstanding!
Delicious Kaiseki experience! Great service, incredible ambiance, and not too hard to make a reservation. Came here for a mini-honeymoon and didn’t regret a thing!
Over hands down the best wagyu meat like butter/ Toro to die for. Would recommend for any special occasion. Price fair over would come back again and again.
Everything is well-arranged and the waiter is attentive, gentle and not intrusive. However, I wish the restaurant can have a more strict noise control rule — the table behind us has been laughing and talking really loudly for the whole time, they were so loud and rude, my eardrum was hurting. The whole restaurant was annoyed by them apparently but nobody has said anything to stop them.
The whole experience would be 100% perfect if the annoying customer can be taken care of.
I came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s 30th birthday and it was an amazing experience. This was my third Michelin star restaurant and it was a different experience from the rest. The service was fantastic (kudos to Alexis) and our chef, Daisuke, was very personable and excellent! Thank you Kenzo! We hope to be back again when we’re in Napa.
Kenzo Napa represents the pinnacle of kaiseki dining in northern--if not all of--California. Traditional Japanese dishes are exquisitely prepared and served in creative modern style in a gorgeous, airy room by a warm, attentive, and knowledgable floor team. The wine and sake list is superb and features wines from the award winning Kenzo Estate winery nearby. It is a must-visit for us when in Napa, and we believe it is superior to many of its Michelin-starred neighbors in the area. If you also love Japanese cuisine, do yourself a foodie favor and experience the very best at Kenzo Napa.
Kenzo is a very intimate Japanese restaurant. It seats only 24 dinners, and for the first hour of our dinning experience, we had the two servers and the chef to our selves. The setting is minimalist, that the focus is on attention to the finest details of the preparation and service of the food. The seasoning of the dishes tend to be subtle, allowing the natural flavors to shine.
