A trip down memory lane. Not many of these gems left! Food was very tasty and the selection was varied. Service as you remember it from "back in the day". And a darned good martini!
I have been dining at Ken's since the 1970s. It has always been a good place to go. We eat there about once every month or 2 as it is about half way for our friends from Oxford, Ma.. Always worth the drive.
The porterhouse in the new room “Cafe V” was so over cooked and it was a very poor cut of meat. Thin and tough. This was the first ever bad steak I’ve got from Kens, so while it probably is not enough to make me not go back, I definitely will never go back to the new room.
Service was excellent and the Delmonico Steaks were outstanding.
Menu was fantastic. The food was prepared perfectly loved this place! When back in town we will for sure be returning.
My fillet mifnon was done perfectly. I love Ken's Italian dressing but wish Ken's would use mixed greens instead of iceberg lettuce.
Brought people visiting from New Jersey, they all enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere!
Dining room was dated. I looked at the menu on line and saw lamb chops listed. When we got our menus it was not there. I asked the waiter, and he said it was served in the cafe. I asked if I could get it. He checked and then said fine. I ordered it. I could not believe what was served to me. It was not chops, it was these 2 bones, with barely any meat on them. What a disappointment.
We decided to make a reservation at Ken's Steak House because we were meeting our son, who lives in Quincy, and we thought it would make a nice half way point. The exterior and decor are definitely a throw back but that is part of the charm. There are a lot of original details. Our server was very professional, and well dressed. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The meal and the drinks were really top notch!!
We ate in the cafe section, which is was billed as an upscale and intimate dining room. We were seated near the kitchen. It was noisy where we got to watch them wash dishes for half an hour. The wine selections were nothing amazing, the steak was not as flavorful as you’d expect for the price, and the side of beans that my wife got were nothing to write home about. Mine was also overcooked for medium rare.
Overall, nothing was so bad as to send it back, but I’m not sure we’ll go back given the variety of better options available to us in the area.
Overall experience was excellent. Table was ready when we arrived. Service was superb, waiter answered any questions we had and was very accommodating. Wine list was excellent. The live piano music was an unexpected surprise, very much enjoyed that.
Only gripe; food was a bit overpriced, IMO. Other than that, the experience was perfect. Would absolutely recommend.
I had a Delmonico steak which was fantastic. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The drinks were amazing. We had margaritas. Very impresses
Sleepy, ok meal tonight. Friendly service, food just ok... atmosphere dated... the place needs some life. Employees just standing around. Parking is good. Cries out for new life.
The hostess did not want to honor the reservation time we got from open table
Saturday nite, sat in the bar. Friendly'tenders, good music, lively scene. Good food, correct as ordered, serv d timely. Fair prices, all in all a nice evening
Ken's Steak House is a longtime family favorite for the past 40 years. My parents took us here for special occasions and I continued to come here as an adult with my father and his wife. I hadn't been here for approximately 5 years and dined here last night. I was so looking forward to the legendary Ken' Salad and delicious steaks. The salad lived up to my expectations, however, the steak tips were over cooked, dry, small and more like beef stew meat than steak tips. I asked for broccoli and was served a baked potato in error. The menu stated that it came with rice, salad and a choice of side. No rice was served. My husband ordered the queen cut prime rib, which arrived cold. My friend's husband ordered the king cut prime rib and it was barely a bit more than the queen cut, really no identifiable difference, it also arrived cold. We were disappointed that the restaurant did not offer decaf cappuccino. Coffees were served without spoons and sweeteners. It took too long for both of those to arrive as the coffees were not hot enough by the time they did. Our server was professional, courteous, pleasant and attempted to be attentive. He unfortunately did not succeed. I mentioned to him that the prime rib dinners were cold and he apologized and advised that he would send the manager over. The manager never arrived. The positive note for the evening was the exceptional piano bar performers. The dinner was overall quite disappointing as I had so many positive memories of the restaurant and it fell very short of my expectations.
We came from over an hour away to visit. Our reservation was honored immediately. Once seated there was some delay in service and I had to ask for a waiter after several other parties seated after us were served first. The food and drink were delicious, however a little over priced.
It was fine. The food was excellent, cooked as requested and service was excellent also. We will go there again.
The food was great and the waiter was caring and professional.
Room was noisy and bright, no ambiance. Piano was nice, but overshadowed.
My wife ordered med rare filet and was served med well. Worst part was waitress could have cared less about our table, she came to our table ONCE after we were served- ONCE in an hour meal. The food is mediocre at best and expensive, over $200 for four people with no drinks. If I could have found a manager I would have let them know how bad our experience was. The reviews on this place have gone way down hill since I was last here, I should have listened.
Scott.
Excellent service, food, noise levels and beverages.
Celebrate Valentine's day with the kids.
Great, very attentive waiter.
Extremely enjoyed the meal and desserts.
Calamari was a little rubbery. Dinner rolls, salad and steak superb. Staff attentive and professional.
Our server was fantastic. Very engaging. She made sure the food was prepared the way we asked.
Great food! Overall a very nice time!
We had a very nice valentines dinner tonight at Ken’s. The food is not gourmet but it is well prepared and very enjoyable. Our server was a cutie pie!
Excellent food, friendly and efficient server Jacob.
We went to Ken's to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday, we were 7 total.
The server was terrible. Took forever to come to the table to take order, when she did asked for drink and food. Food took forever, apps slow to come out. Gave my sister wrong meal. Brought my husband's special B day cupcake after the dessert I ordered for everyone else was served. Bill was wrong 2 times over. We were there 3 painful hours! Truly put a damper on the ending of what was a special, good day.
I have been to Ken's before several years ago. About what I remembered. I got sirloin, thinking a steak house was a good bet to get a good steak. In retrospect, I might have gotten the Queen prime rib instead since steak had more gristle and fat than I expected. Otherwise, cooked as requested to true medium. Potato was good. Salad kind of wimpy-only iceberg lettuce with a couple of pieces of tomato. Since they have great dressings a better salad would have been nice with some more vegetables and may some other lettuces mixed in. If I had known I would have gotten a fresh hot vegetable instead. My companions got fish meals and enjoyed them. Service was average, if anything, a bit slow but we were not in a hurry, so it was OK..
I was born and raised in Natick and have always known that Ken's Steak House was THE place to go for a good steak. We took my mother to dinner there 2/3/18. She loves steak and now that she is at an extended living residence, she doesn't get a good steak there. So we were looking forward to a good meal. Going to Ken's for dinner was a BIG mistake. My mother and I both got the Delmonico. the portions was small and the steak was chewy. It is sad to see what Ken's has become. Don't waste your time and especially your money going there.
Very nice meal, dessert was excellent, very fresh Blueberry pie.
Fine for a meal in the area if you're not looking for anything special. Gets the job done. If this place was spruced up and improved the chow, it would rock in this area.
Fabulous ambiance and service. We had a party of 12 and Katerina was very attentive to our needs. I never had to ask for Club Soda refill which I really appreciate. They made some special accommodations for my allergies that made my individual experience one of my best. My wife and I got engaged here 35 years ago and this event was for a surprise birthday party for her. They could not have been more hospitable for us. Our table was ready to roll as soon as we arrived. Thank you Ken's Steak House!
Great experience.
It was very nice! Nice atmosphere and good food! Would comeback!
The food was great but our waiter, Eric, was terrible. I don't think he has a clue on what he was doing. He was friendly but that is all I will give him. When we ordered our drinks, we also ordered onion rings as an appetizer. He forgot about them so we had to ask again. Our salads took forever and the meal came in the middle of our salads. We were not served our dinners by him but by someone else. He never came back to ask us if our meals were okay and if we needed anything else. My sister wanted another drink so we flagged down another waiter who cleared our salad plates off and got my sister another drink. She even told that waiter that our guy sucked. Eric finally came back to give us the bill and we told him we weren't happy with his service. He said he was too busy to come back to our table to see if things were okay or if we needed anything else. It wasn't that busy in there and that is no excuse. He is lucky he got a $5.00 tip on a $100 bill.
Such fun eating at Ken’s! The espresso martini was awesome and it says a lot about a restaurant when it offers steamed broccoli and it comes bright green and crunchy! We enjoyed a lot! Such a piece of retro Metrowest!
Delicious prime rib Ken’s famous salad cocktails ambience and terrific value! Ken’s is a favorite and we will come again and often!
We were rather disappointed with everything: the drinks first (for example my mimosa tasted like simple orange juice), the salad - that just looked like industrial greens, and most of all, by the steak itself - not tasty- and the fries - honestly the worst we ever had in a restaurant. Very upsetting also given the price. Service was fair at least. Yup, big disappointment.
Our server was busy and never brought part of my order or wine to table. I think she could have used some help as it appeared she had too many tables to cover.
