Ken's on Western
Soup of the Day
We had a wonderful experience! Food was outstanding as was the service! It was our first time and I would recommend highly going there for dinner!
Nice hidden gem on Western! Great food and quick service!
Great food and drinks!!
Very comfortable and friendly staff!
We had a great dinner, or service was excellent. We will definitely be back!!
Everything was delightful Go there often. Very comfortable
Dined with a couple friends. Hadn't been there in years , but was pleasantly surprised and it was all good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Many things I want to try on the menu so will definitely return soon.
We love Ken's. Was a little quiet at the time of day - Sunday at 3pm but overall the food's great, the service is great. I wish they weren't out of the clams and linguine (my mom's favorite) but otherwise no complaints.
Great food, great service from neighborhood gem. My husband and I enjoyed the classic relish tray and the delish pizza bread. My lamb chops were cooked and seasoned perfectly and my husband enjoyed the steak special. We had many friends recommend Ken’s and we’re finally able to make a visit and enjoy a wonderful meal. Definitely worth a return visit.
Overall the food was just poor. The chicken piccata had more sauce than pasta; it was drenched in it. The blackened shrimp had a sauce over it like gravy. I have never seen blackened done like that which leads me to believe they are not sure what blackened means. The steak was terrible quality. It was largely fat and it was bland. The sautéed mushrooms were cooked in only oil and tasted like they were sitting in the back for a long time. The chicken parm was probably the best thing we had but it was bland as well. The relish and pizza bread were the highlight. If kitchen would up the flavor of the food that would help; even just a little more salt and pepper in the cooking would have been a huge improvement.
They also put us at a table that shouldn’t be used. It is jammed into a corner in the bar. Between the table, the wall behind me and the jukebox inches from my head, once I sat down there was no moving or getting up. It was also incredibly loud. Hard to knock the place for this because I know there isn’t much they can do but we largely sat quietly at the table because otherwise we had to yell to each other.
Came for my moms birthday she loved we will be back again!
Great restaurant, local people, so nice to be back . Excellent food, great service, and a real nice pour.
A real neighborhood gem. Excellent blackened porkchops...got two really one was plenty. But it was excellent the next day too!
Great restaurant! Delicious food. Unfortunately they ran out of several of the specials. We were told they run out shortly after opening.
Great minds experience...just getting he way I remember.
Food was very good and service was excellent. Nice atmosphere.
The food at Ken’s is delicious, and we are always treated well with great service.
Love this restaurant! Food is delicious with friendly service- highly recommend!
Great Food and Service
Great food good service and had coloring and crayons for kids!
Great Neighborhood fine dining restaurant with vibrant bar
We love Ken’s. All the employees go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Great food and wine selection
Food and service are always great!
All servers friendly, attentive, and efficient. Food was outstanding. Tad on the expensive end, but we enjoyed our birthday dinner. Masks were on and tables at a comfortable distance in the dining room.
Food was cooked to the point, flavor was great! It was way too noises because half of the building is a bar, very small dining area, but the food is amazing. Service seemed rushed, but they were busy.
For the money not a bad place; however very very loud and could not hear each other talk. The service was a bit slow, decided to not get a dessert due to the noise and the slow service. Tables by the door were a bit cold as well.
The fish was cook very well though.
The food and service was fantastic. There is a small bar area which we were seated near, so the noise level was a bit much. However, they do have a dining room on other side if looking for conversation and more relaxing environment. We had steak and prime rib, both were delicious. We will be going there again.
Great service by Angela, filet very tender. Love the double baked potato. Very comfortable setting.
Thought an early reservation would mean that there would be less of a crowd but that wasn't so. Waitress was good and friendly. Food good but thought there would be more variety of fresh fish now.
Great neighborhood place. The food and cocktails are wonderful.
My filet was perfect and my husband loved the rainbow trout.
We had an early Sunday dinner. Alissa our server very pleasant and efficient. Food was delicious, filet/ pork chop and great pizza bread and relish tray prior to dinner.
Enjoyed the retro supper-club vibe.
Friendly staff and really good food.
Very poor service. Our main courses arrived in the middle of eating our salad. Food just not as good as usual.
We visited Kens on a Saturday evening and it was packed. We made a reservation in advance and to their credit, our table was waiting for us when we arrived. We placed our order which included soup and salads and didn’t have to wait long. We had just begun to eat and our entrees arrived. (The waitress admitted to putting the order in all at once which was not at our request.) Needless to say, we placed the cold items aside to eat our hot meal which turned out was not so hot. My husband sent his back to be warmed up. The food was so just OK which was surprising based on the prices and the restaurants’ reputation. I doubt that we’ll go back.
One of the best steaks I’ve had in years!
The staff at Kens is so welcoming and accommodating. They were very busy and to make up for seating us late (it was only 20 minutes) we received two glasses of wine. They really know how to take care of their customers and they make you feel like family when you are there.
One of the best places on the South side..great atmosphere , drink and food. Service is also outstanding. It is really crowded especially on Saturday as it is a cozy place so you really have to make reservations.
Food was awful. Prime rib was partially overcooked and salty. Beef stroganoof was chunky and salty. Noodles were overcooked. Sauce was bland. Perch was bland.
Tammy, a long time waitress, is a definite asset to Ken's. Tammy is very friendly, knows the menu and makes spot on recommendations. Great service, great food-what more could one ask for?
My family and I were looking for a nice restaurant to take my grandmother for her 80th birthday. I didn't identify that we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation however our waitress, Amanda, immediately made it special by putting confetti on our table. She was very attentive and ensured we were pleased with our time there. Now to the reason I could only give this restaurant 1 star for the food...it was awful. I ordered the 7 oz filet mignon and it was extremely tough. My sister and mother ordered the shrimp scampi and it lacked flavor. My daughter ordered the Cajun chicken pasta and it was extremely soupy and my fiancé ordered the veal parmesan and the veal looked grey. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, it was nicely decorated and cozy. The cocktails and Amanda's excellent service were the best parts about our experience.
