Steak tartare was terrific and plentiful and the beet salad was very good.
Nice spot after theater. Food was good (steak and baramundi), but salmon was slightly undercooked and took awhile to get back. Service is OK.
This was a pre-concert meal - good as always. It's a great place to gather before Music Center events.
Always a good place to eat before an event at Dorothy Chandler center. We went before an opera, a Sunday lunch, had their Moules et Frites ( mussel & French fries). Really excellent. Best fries in town, delicious mussels. Good service & atmosphere. Will go back.
Lovely brunch on our way to see Candide at the opera. Very nice selection. Tasty food!
We were given a seat in The Boardroom section of the restaurant and it was very quiet and comfortable. Different than the front of the restaurant.
Our reservation was honored immediately, the staff was courteous, the service was quick and the food was great
Somewhat chaotic because busy before the showtimes for performances. We had a 12:30 reservation but had not been served entrees by 1:10. We did get out in time. Waiters were disorganized as to who had our table, order taken by manager.
I had mushroom soup and the avocado salad both were superb in both presentation and taste. My wife had onion soup and an endive salad both were outstanding. We shared the very unique "floating island" , a merengue floating in a scrumptious creme anglais and caramel sauce with sliced almonds, for dessert. We like to eat at Kendall's when we attend LA Opera performances and/or LA Philharmonic concerts. The staff is friendlly and attentive. Obviously the location is convenient to both venues so we never have to repark our car.
We noted that we were celebrating our 18th Anniversary on our Open Table reservation, and not a word was said in reception or during service at our table. The Malbec screw top half bottle was very mediocre for $40, mentioned it to the waiter, no response. We won't be back.
Fantastic Valentines Day dinner with awesome service and delicious food!!!
Very enjoyable post theater spot. Good drinks, good food and good service. We are regular customers.
The food is outstanding and the bartending is excellent. The hostess was very professional and friendly. She did all she could to help make us comfortable as we waited for our reservation. The martini I had was expertly crafted and plentiful. I hope, seeing that there are several, even dozens, of local craft breweries, that they will add additonal selections featuring some of our outstanding ales and beers.
Delicious food, prompt and friendly service.
Kendall's is the ideal choice for a pre-concert meal. Just one block from Disney Concert Hall, the crowd on Friday night was clearly filled with regulars and pre-concert goers. The staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive (though we were asked twice in one minute what kind of water we wanted and whether we wanted any drinks before we had even picked up our menus). The food is the real draw, however. The short rib is excellent, deeply flavorful without being heavy. The barramundi is also excellent, cooked perfectly and accompanied with haricot verts. The wine list is well balanced and though the per-glass price starts at $12 and goes up, the choices are very good. For the area, this is probably one of the better places to go. My only gripe is that the espresso is terrible, tasting more like watery diner coffee. The desserts make up for the poor espresso.
The new manager personally took an interest and it showed in the service. Everything was on time and we made it to the opera with sufficient time to spare. I will be back!
A small but sound menu. Nice wines by the glass. Great place for pre-concert or theater dinner.
The advantage of this eatery is that it has the perfect location for pre-theatre and post-theatre dining. Check out the delicious lavender daiquiri. We enjoyed our dinners and wine selections, except for the appetizer pate which was markedly awful. Service was friendly and efficient. Due to its proximity to the theatre, we will be repeat patrons.
We usually eat at Kendall's whenever we are going to Disney Hall or the theater. Be sure to make a reservation as there is always a line during show times. They sat us up the stairs once but we did not care for it there. The ambiance is on the lower level.
Brunch is consistently good, whether it's a breakfast item or a lunch meal. Very convenient for pre or post theater dining. Definitely recommend for downtown dining
