At KELP we take our time to make sure the food that goes on your plate is a fresh and local as possible. We source our seafood to be specifically Scottish and sustainable. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers for all our food. The fish people supply our fresh seafood daily. Our bread comes from Soja bakehouse, a family owned bakery in Cumbernauld. Our meat comes from ABR butchers, based in Bearsden.
Our executive chef, Christopher Hutchison, creates amazing, innovative dishes to be enjoyed and shared with friends and loved ones. We now have an AA rosette for 2023/2024 to highlight his and the teams amazing work. We are located on Cowcaddens Road, just around the corner from our sister restaurant, Ardnamurchan Restaurant and Bar and a stones throw from the theatre royal. Perfect for a meal before a show. Relax in our modern, airy restaurant and watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. Our signature dish is our crab doughnut, you'll be amazed!

Flawless food. Early lunchtime, so it was very quiet, but the tables are set up, so that with the food and great company it didn’t matter.

Had an enjoyable lunch here. Food was outstanding and imaginative. Service is tapas style, so dishes come when ready which works out ideally. Thoroughly recommended.

Our first visit to Kelp, and it won’t be our last. We chose from the lunch menu and had a selection of four mains, mostly seafood, and a couple of sides. All six dishes were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Difficult to pick out an individual standout dish, but from the mains, the mussels in broth and the chicken schnitzel, were both excellent, with each dish being a significant step up from standard restaurant fare. Of the side dishes, the carrot dish demonstrated just how to elevate a humble ingredient. For dessert, we shared a chocolate cremeux with ice cream. Congratulations to the team in the kitchen and to the front of house staff, who were both professional and friendly. Looking forward to another visit in the future.

Our meal in Kelp was one of the highlights of our city break in Glasgow. Great food, with a largely original menu and every dish was a treat. Nice staff and a good, relaxed vibe. Will be back the next time I'm in Glasgow.

Another return visit to a restaurant that is definitely on my favourite list. Food was delicious and staff always attentive. Looking forward to my next visit already!

The food was amazing, nothing was left on our plates. We enjoyed every little bit of it, the sides, the drinks, everything. The service was nice, if a bit slow (but it was packed so understandable). Will definitely pop by again. Not a lot of vegetarian options.

Really tasty dishes. Oysters were amazing. Service could have been a bit more attentive. But all in all a pleasant experience.
