First, service was fantastic; drinks were always filled, we were checked on regularly, etc. The food was ok, but could have been better.
We had the bruschetta with sliced steak which was good, though very black pepper-forward. The strawberry salad was good. For entrees, I splurged and ordered the 22oz bone-in ribeye, while my partner got the 16oz NY Strip. We got creamed corn and macaroni and cheese for sides.
My first steak, when I cut the first pieces, appeared well done. I cut further in and found it to be medium-well, not the medium-rare ordered. I showed our waiter and he agreed, no questions asked, and got a new one going. The replacement took a fair amount of time, 15-20min it seemed. It was bordering on rare in the middle when I first cut into it, but as I ate more, was reasonably close to the medium-rare I requested. Being a thick cut and containing bone, it's tricky to cook evenly, but both seemed fairly uneven inside. As a big fan of sous vide and reverse sear cooking methods, maybe I'm spoiled, but the steak didn't seem very tender in either case. The steak on the appetizer wasn't either. Tenderness comes from low and slow cooking, which this was not (and is admittedly tricky in a restaurant environment). My first steak also had a lot of char taste, the second one did as well, but was much better. My partner said his NY Strip was medium, vs the medium-rare he ordered, and didn't have the same level of char taste (though he would have preferred more). Overall, we both agreed the meat was decent, but not what we would pay that price for again.
The creamed corn was whole kernels in a cream, not the partially chopped corn I typically think of as creamed corn. The mac and cheese was decent, but both it, and the corn greatly benefited from the addition of salt. Interestingly, the butter provided for the excellent bread had flaky salt on it, and that was amazing! So it was a bit surprising to have insufficient salt in the sides.
Great food, drinks and atmosphere!
The Host, Server, and other attendants were fantastic! Great place to celebrate my wife's birthday!!!
Food was good but for that price it could have been better but that’s just me. Service was great but the waitress had a runny nose and cough and now is not the time for that. Place was beautiful and live music outside.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was wonderful. Enjoyable evening.
We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday at Keller Chophouse. The food and drinks were fabulous as always. Jesse the bartender is wonderful and he makes great cocktails and has perfect recommendations for wine as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful as always!
The Keller Chophouse was the best dining experience we have had in years. We all ordered something different and each dish was wonderful.
Food is always delicious !!! Love everything from appetizers to sides to steaks to dessert !
A bit pricey but no more than any other Metroplex top line steakhouse!!
Everything was top notch. Will definitely return on my next special occasion!
Efficient Wait staff
Terrible Steak (NY Strip & tenderloin)
The main reason you go to a Chophouse is for the meat. Unfortunately, they must use frozen packaged meat that comes out to the table cold in the center. Not good enough to make it as a steakhouse. Try Golden Corral for a better value.
Thank you so much for your review. However, we have been in the steakhouse business for over 20 years and we do not get our meat from a frozen package. We get our meat from Allen Brothers from Chicago. Our meat is never frozen and we cut all of our meat fresh. If there was a problem with your New York strip and filet I wished management would have been notified and we would have gladly taken care of the issue.
Great experience. This is a great locally owned restaurant that gives great service and the food is always as good as any top tier restaurant out there.
We loved the food, service, and ambiance
I made reservations based on the many good reviews. We were meeting friends for dinner on a Friday evening. It’s a great location. We were seated right away. The ambience is a little bland, the dining chairs were not very comfortable and it was very warm in the dining room. The server came right over and was excellent all evening. The food was okay. Everyone had a different dish, 3 had seafood and 2 had meat. The wine list needs to be beefed up, the white list was very limited. None on their “special wine list”. Maybe some French Chardonnay’s or full body Spanish.
The staff there was very nice. The restaurant did cool down as the evening went on. Well wait a bit before we give it another try.
Christi was excellent! Thanks!!
Matt, our server was fantastic. Good was great.
We sat at a table in the bar area. I had to request menus and flag down the bartender to take our order. Food was mostly good but for the price, I would rather eat at Trulucks where the atmosphere is better, better food and better service.
Everything was wonderful. The staff was great, the food was great, the tables were a little close together and the ambiance was peaceful.
HAD A GREAT NIGHT, GREAT DINNER , DRINKS AND SERVICE.
It was a nice time.
Good waitress, nice food choices. Had the Bruschetta and Rigotoni.
More drink choices will be welcome.
Expensive for the quality. Ordered pan seared scallops and expected a large entry item or 2. I got 4 tiny, chewy, overcooked 1 inch scallops for $33 with sides. Even my dessert creme brulee seemed old, not fresh. Had high hopes but was disappointed. I will say that the service was great and the waiters were on point.
Great service and good food. Always nice to support a locally owned restaurant. Staff was great and accommodating.
Birthday dinner. Everything was amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
This was our first visit to the Chophouse. The only negative thing I could say was the noise. Some of the people were very, very loud. The food and the service was excellent.
The dining room was very crowded and very loud. Our waitress was great, but the overall service was very slow. The food was ok, but not worth the high cost. The desserts were very good. Best part of the night!
It wasn’t bad- just not good. We won’t go back.
My husband and I just moved to Keller from Southwest Fort Worth and were so happy to find a date night spot amongst many casual chain restaurants. We had the absolute best server, Bri, who took care of us and made us feel special. We were celebrating my husbands first Father’s Day. The food was great, atmosphere of a typical steakhouse, and service was par. We will be back soon!
This chophouse was delicious and made us feel very fancy! The steak was superb. Cocktails and wine options were wonderful. Waitstaff was very attentive. The dining room has dark decor but is well-lit. The only downside was the Parmesan truffle fries - not much truffle taste at all! Everything else made our night better than expected.
Thank you so much for all your kind words. I am glad you had a great evening, and as for the fries, I do apologize my name is Shana I am one of the managers here I will make sure your next visit you get a different delicious side on us. Thank you.
Food and service are amazing.
Great food, good service
Don’t take the lower than 5 stars throw you off. The food was excellent! The steak and lobster were perfectly cooked and the presentation was excellent. The service was a little slow (they only had one waiter covering the entire dining room). And the value was a bit of a drag on the total score only because the portions were a little small for the price. And the sides are all “family style”. Which means both of us either needed to like the same things or get four different ones.
I would still return and would highly recommend.
Celebrated our 15th anniversary. Really great, personal service and the food was excellent.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review. Keep us in mind for your other special celebrations and date night.
Good meal, excellent steak and tasty sides.
Food was delicious and cooked to specifications. The only drawback was we had to ask the server for bread when it usually is served prior to the appetizer and meal.
Thank you for your review. It is standard for us to serve bread after the orders are taken and at the time of salads and/or appetizers.
Food was excellent however the wait between courses was longer than it should have been. Waitress was friendly and efficient but it seems the chef was a little slow in getting our food up.
We ordered creamed spinach and it came out sautéed. We were told that that was the cream spinach though but we have been there before and it wasn’t. Our waitress also brought a glass of wine to our table that I hadn’t ordered and then charged us for it. I ordered a steak and wasn’t even asked how I wanted it done. It came out raw and I had to send it back. It’s a steakhouse. Ask me how I want my steak cooked?! Food is expensive for mediocre taste.
Thank you for your review. I sincerely apologize for the service. Please know that this type of service is unacceptable. I ask that you give us another try. Ask for Chrystal, the General Manager, and I will be sure you are taken care of,
Outstanding food and service! The bruschetta appetizer was wonderful. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and our servers couldn't have been more attentive.
Very pleasant atmosphere. We arrived a little early and they were able to seat us. Hostess, waitstaff and manager, all very nice, efficient and helpful--friendly but not to the point of interfering. The food was very good. My husbands pork chop was prepared perfectly, still tender and juicy. I had the Seabass special. Fish was cooked perfectly, crusty outside, tender but fully cooked inside. All sides were tasty. We split apple cobbler that was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very nice setting, white table cloths, comfortable chairs, no street noise, nice spacing of tables. Dress was nicely casual though we saw very casual and a little more formally dressed.
Thank you so much for the review. We like to say we are business casual, but we would never turn anyone down at the door. Glad you enjoyed the seabass. The seabass is one of our most popular items. Please come back and ask for Chrystal, the general manager. I would love to meet you. Thank you so much!
We haven’t been here since the ownership change and it was a good experience. The steaks were very good and the service was fine. We will be back.
It was still a little loud when the place filled up but that’s the way the building was designed.
Thank you so much for your review. We are a small restaurant and on the weekends our dining room can get a bit loud. We thrive to put out quality food for our guests and give them a great experience. Please come back soon. Ask for Chrystal, the general manager. I would love to formally meet you. I love talking with guests and I enjoy giving them the history of Chophouse.
Weekly dinner out.
Thank you for your 5 star review. Please keep us in mind for your future celebrations.
Great steaks and sides. Drinks took a little long to be served from bar. Bri, the server was great, manager check on us as well. Overall, the experience was nice. Best steak in Keller area.
