Excellent as always. Clients loved it. Great service and food!
As someone who travels to New York City often, I'm so pleased to have found this gem in the center of Manhattan. Great for special occasions, a romantic dinner or an executive group event. The seafood is beautifully prepared with a subtle blend of flavors that allow the freshness of the ingredients to shine. If you're a seafood fan and love Greek food, this is the place for you! There's also a nice variety of entrees if you want meat or chicken. Exceptional wine and cocktail list tops off this first-rate dining experience.
Great service and interesting menu. Recommend especially the char grilled octopus and country pie.
very good food and decor - a real gem
mid town -
only issue is the noise level
This was my first visit. The restaurant is lovely and very tastefully done, it is quiet and easy enough to hear your companion(s) hindered only by very high ceilings which are beautiful but definitely don’t help sound carriage.
The menu is largely very clean with many organic veggies and some meats. It was easy to have a wonderful but light pre-theater seafood meal- the seafood offering is quite extensive.
The food quality was exceptional; veggies wonderfully fresh and crispy. The service was not that attentive from our primary waiter though he was very accommodating when we could catch his eye; the maitre de was so helpful. We will definitely be back!
The pre Broadway show dinner was perfect. Great food, excellent service and timing
Had a good experience. Excellent service from Paul. Small quibble is that seafood orzo dish had 1 scallop, 1 tiny clam. Wine by the glass was excellent, and good value. Will def try again.
I had booked the table on “open table “ but when I arrived the restaurant did not have my reservation. We were seated anyway but i had noted on my reservation that we were celebrating my son’s 21st birthday. As a result there was no celebration as i had requested. Disappointing.
The service here is superb and the food delicious. The happy hour menu is a great value considering the quality of the food. Yannis is a wonderful host with genuine warmth who takes great care to make sure your experience is first rate at this restaurant and the staff follow through as well. Andrada is the best bartender we have encountered at any fine restaurant in NYC.
Perfect for after show dining. Food was excellent as was service. Would definitely recommend
I have been going to Kellari for a number of years and have never been disappointed.
Service and food are top notch. Noise level is my only issue but they try to seat me against the wall which helps.
Outstanding service and food. Our waiter made all recommendations throughout the meal - Did not even need to check out the menu. White table cloth dining. Recommend.
Waiter was excellent
Food was very nice
PRice’s a little high and not enough choices on the menu
Excellent choice for people who love fresh, delicious fish and excellent service. Good crowd and warm, inviting atmosphere. Two thumbs up!!!
Super service. Great food and value. Good and reasonable priced wine selection.
I was overall very pleased with this restaurant. The food was great, but the service was a little slow. I would recommend this restaurant.
All very good but over priced. $19 for a straight drink! $206/couple, one drink no dessert.
Fresh and flavorful Greek cuisine in an elegant space. Friendly attentive service.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. The maitre'd couldnt have been more solicitous and made it a very special evening for us. Food was delicious!
Starters were excellent. My companion thought the lamb shank not tasty and my seafood with orzo had 2 shrimp one-third of a scallop and two clams.
I had a nice time at lunch. I just thought the special of
Cod would be more “special”. It was a bit dry but I would return for another lunch or drinks. I
We had a reservation for 8pm and our table (of 4) was not seated until 8:45. Lots of excuses. Once seated, service was fair at best. e.g. ordered a 2nd bottle of wine when we were eating our first course. It came when we were half way through our entrees. And there was quite a gap of time in between.
Food is good but for this price point, the service has to be at a higher level.
Food and wine was delicious, it was filling but still felt light. We had the whole sea bass and octopus, everything was cooked perfectly. The waiter was very friendly. A bit pricey but knew that going in. If you looking for a meal for a special occasion, or are willing to have a nice meal before a Broadway show this is a great spot. Quick walk over to Broadway shows.
The price fixed menu for 2 or 3 courses is very worthwhile. Food was very tasty.
Our first waiter was completely inexperienced and frustrated which I do not fault him for as he was not trained properly. I explained to the manager that our waiter was overwhelmed and asked the manager for a new waiter. The manager said "sure", walked away from the table without any inquiry or apology for the lack of service up to this point. I will say our second waiter and a few others were excellent and on point that is why I gave 4 stars for the service review.
There was a large party who was loud, beyond jovial, which I get, but they were whistling, yelling and outright obnoxious. The manager did come over to check on us and asked how everything was I said the food was good, our waiter is excellent; however I can't hear my friends because the party is unacceptably loud. He looked at me and said, "I am sorry there is nothing I can do" then walked away. What was most upsetting is that 2 tables of businessmen also complained after we did and only then did the manager go into the party to ask them to quiet down a bit. Nice sexist move on his part!
At the end of our dinner the manager came by with 3 glasses of dessert wine. He should have asked us if he could buy us a drink or dessert and not just dropped this on the table considering I don't drink and my associates don't drink sweet wine. At the same time he should have apologized for our first waiters inability to take our order correctly and walking away from us mid-order in addition to his walking away from us. It's a shame the manager has no idea what customer means.
There are so many amazing restaurants in the city, don't bother going there!
The tuna seemed old. I
I’ve been here multiple times. Service was slow today and we were never asked by our waiter how everything was after items were served.
Our fourth visit - we live around 60 miles from Manhattan. Our nephew discovered Kellari and we've been going there for several years. We all love it.
We’ve eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. This time was a huge disappointment. They were off their game for some reason.
Waiter serving my table was so bad.
Restaurant itself seems great but I just got a bad waiter who kept pushing me and my friend to order more and never introduced himself to us at the first time when he came to the table.
Once we order 2 appetizers not main dish, it seems he thought we were budget traveler and almost threw dessert menu on the table.
Food was good but it was way pricey - main dish price for appetizer!!!
Absolutely perfect. Great chef and customer oriented manager/owner. Great and fun place
Perfect restaurant for pre or post theatre
We were in the city for the holiday season (and my son's birthday) and Kellari was conveniently located on 44th right off Fifth so it was location that made us choose it. We were greeted warmly & given a prime table in the lovely restaurant. From that point forward, we were treated like royalty...because it was my son's birthday, the manager brought us a complimentary glass of champagne. We discovered they had a prix fixe menu which was wonderful, affordable, and the portions were huge!! The appetizer tuna tatare was delicious (& had an generous amount of caviar), and my Greek salad was tasty & huge. We all got the same entree, lamb osse buco, again, delicious and a huge portion (I'd only suggest they add extra mashed potatoes). The wine list was varied and priced from the $40's up into the $100's. Dessert was luscious, and came with a candle & a song! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very disappointed with our fish entrees. Fish was overlooked and dry - we had whole Fagri Manager (John) was very apologetic and made up with a compensated dessert assortment. Although it was appreciated (his concern and the dessert), we did come for a meal. I don't know if we would return.
My previous experiences with Greek restaurants have been overwhelmingly good, so this one came up just a little short. The food was good, but not excellent. The service was very nice and friendly, the atmosphere was wonderful. In a city with this many outstanding eateries, that little something extra was missing from our experience.
Always outstanding experience. Never disappointed.
Food was great! Waiter was humorous and honest about food selections.
Wonderful restaurant close to theatre.... delicious authentic Greek food, great service, quiet enough to be able to have a conversation. A gem....
Salmon not very flavorful
