Beautiful interior. Guest service and great food. Definer recommend.
The food and service was excellent. The ambiance was very nice. I would definitely eat there again.
We arrived at Kellari for brunch -- only to be informed that there was a problem in the kitchen and most of the menu was unavailable except for salads and an omelet. (A voice message was sent 15 mins before our reservation time - obviously, we were already in transit.) I've been to Kellari many times, and was sorely disappointed with an anemic Greek salad and an omelette (with more salad, since they couldn't make fries). Server was very nice, and provided generous refills on the mimosas to make up for our disappointment. This was not the brunch outing I had in mind...
Amazing food, friendly waiters, and the most wonderful manager I’ve ever met. John is the kindest guy and knows customer service. Will definitely be coming back!
Very nice setting and kind, attentive service. Overpriced $49 for a very tough, grizzly New York strip. Stick with fish - but also plan on an expensive night out! Even for NY!
They gave us a heart
The food was really good and fresh. My dinner came out cold. The manager came over and immediately took care of it. This showed they really care about the customer. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I'm not a fan of Greek food, but our meal at Kellari was good and we would return. We chose the two course pre-fixe: salads, lamb shank and orzo with seafood. Good bread and credible cocktails and wine by the glass added to the meal. The restaurant was busy and rightly so.
It used to be a reliable place to go to in the theater district but not anymore. The salad was pedestrian and the grilled octopus cold and like rubber. The fish was good but not great. The sides just ok. Lastly, the service was off. No one around to help. Expensive and just not worth it.
We had a nice meal except for the East coast oysters. They were not good/fresh. Chicken dish and the fish was fabulous. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
Wonderful place, amazing food, good service, highly recommended
Apple martinis, Oysters, scallops, lamb chops, and cake were delicious. Staff are highly professional and made sure we were able to leave on time for our 7PM curtain time. Beautiful room with high ceilings. Virtually all tables give a nice view. Always enjoyable.
I would recommend KT for a normal pre-theater fixed price dinner. We happened to be there on Valentine’s Day (just because we had show tickets) and the special menu (a la carte in our case) was outrageously overpriced given the food quality. Under normal circumstances, for a pre-theater meal, it is a delightful place with a reasonable deal. But the holiday menu ruined it for us.
Amazing! Celebrated my birthday and received A++ service.
Food was very good, but portions were small relative to the high price. Every dish was presented beautifully, but the prices were quite high. I guess this was due to the prime location of the restaurant. The ambiance is quite nice, though the noise level was high as the restaurant filled up.
Surprised and delighted by extra touches of dessert wine and sweets offered by the management to enhance an engagement celebration. The meal was wonderful and the service attentive and patient with our lingering. Thank you.
Great pikilia spreads with delicious light, warm pita; Lavraki grilled with just a bit of lemon and olive oil was perfect (fresh, not too big); artichokes side was novel and perfect compliment; oysters were huge and sweet; baklava honey was special and serving size just right to finish off the meal. Service was upbeat and attentive and wine list worked beautifully. Highly recommended.
Excellent pre-theater meal. Terrific seafood and great service.
Pre- theater meal
We were seated right away, two other tables were seated next to us. We sat at our table for easily 15 minutes without service. The fourth and last table seated was greeted first by the waiter who left their table and did not come back for some time. We decided to abandon our table and sit at the bar. The two bartenders were wonderful and the food was great. Just disappointed that the first impression was so poor.
They made us feel so welcome and special for my sister's birthday. Great experience/service, and excellent food!
Great biz lunch!
We four dined during Restaurant Week. It's a lovely, big room with good ambience. The shrimp skewers over mackeral mousse appetizer was very tasty. The bass entree was good as well. Chocolate dessert was yummy. Overall a good dining experience.
Nice atmosphere, very good service. Good Greek cuisine
We were two women friends and treated differently than the nearby tables of men and couples. Took forever to place our order. We ordered three plates to share—two came out quickly and it took three requests to get our final plate, while others were getting their food in a timely fashion. Our server was rude and grunted rather than spoke to us. While the food was yummy, it’s not enough to overcome the poor experience. I won’t be coming back.
Wonderful food and service. Had the Restaurant Week special menu. Great for pre-theatre dinner as the service is quick and it’s on 44th Street.
Great experience they made a birthday extra special and the perfect spot for a pre-show dinner! Was there for restaurant week and it was a great deal for great food!
I was disappointed in the brunch menu. There were no authentic Greek dishes and the Greek salad should have been exceptional considering it’s a Greek restaurant and it was very mediocre.
Wait staff was very accommodating!
Warm welcome and friendly professional service. Brunch was excellent value. Highly recommend
Interesting menu. Lots of unusual dishes. Very attentive staff, especially the Maitre'd. We had theater tickets and arrived early for our reservation. We were accommodated immediately, with a smile. The portions are not large, but the food is very tasty. I had vegetarian croquettes and a meatless entree. My partner had a spinach pie appetizer with roasted potato side. We were both pleased with the taste and temperature of the food.
Kellari Taverna is large with comfortable, plentiful seating, a welcoming atmosphere and reasonable acoustics. The pre-fixe pre/post theater menu offered several choices at a reasonable price. The wine list is varied and well-priced also. Based on the overall high quality of the appetizer and main course, the dessert choices were few (from the prix fixe) and the items were more average in quality. That said, for the quality, ambiance, and value, we will happily return to Kellari Taverna.
We were a party of 6 and truthfully the service was not great. Our waiter had a bit of an attitude. Food was average. Overall not great.
Dinner pre theatre.
We had to get to a show after dinner..but were 15 min late getting to Kellari...staff were incredibly accommodating. Food was amazing, as always.
Kellari is my favorite pre-theater dinner spot because I feel I am “out to dinner”...not in some pre-theater cattle car, like some places!
My wife and I had a very fine and most enjoyable pre-theater dinner at Kellari Taverna. This greek restaurant features a wonderful selection of fish expertly prepared. Service is attentive but not intrusive. An extensive array of old and new world wines to complement each course.
Always a Great go to for Fresh Catch and attentive service.
Food is high quality and excellent tasting. Fresh seafood. Good for business or casual dining.
Good basic Greek food but pricey
Pleasant staff, with the right amount of attention, paired with good satisfying food.
