Set across two levels, the ground floor houses the main dining room while the subterranean level is made up of two enclosed rooms, perfect for private dining and events. Kefi’s spacious bar area serves an extensive Greek wine list, specialty cocktails, ouzo shots and a full menu of meze, appetizers and entrees along with Happy Hour food & drink specials 5pm - close Mon-Fri and 3pm - close Sat & Sun.
Inattentive waiter. Food was supposed to be a lettuce wrap but it was shredded. Bland food. Soup was good. Will not go again
Been a few times and always impressed on how good the experience is; terrific food, great service, and well priced. A super spot.
Pretty mixed experience. I remember the lamb burger, from years ago, as being delicious. Now it was soggy, and the potato chips stale. The special of crispy artichokes had clearly been fried some time ago and then warmed up - soggy. The bulgur salad was good, with a great combination of different flavors; the dressing could have had a little more lemon juice or vinegar, but it was straight out good. Service was fine.
Unpleasant noise level, crowded, poorly timed service....
Entrées arrived while appetizers were being eaten..,,but
food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and friendly.
The ambiance was fantastic. The walls are exposed brick and the restaurant has a very cozy feeling. I loved that the tables weren't crammed together.
I had the trout which was delicious with a creamy lemon sauce and the vegetables were roasted perfectly. We had a garlicky lemony artichoke appetizer which was delicious. We also had the hummus but that was awful - like a lump of clay- tasted that way too.
Everything else was great and we'd definitely come back.
Both times we have dined at Kefi we were pleased with the friendliness and competence of the staff; food is very good. Our only complaint is that upon finishing one course the next arrives immediately giving the impression of 'hurry up and finish' so we can turn the table over; felt like we had entered a race. At 6:00 on Sunday night there were plenty of tables available for newcomers. Our server, Valentino, was delightful.
Kefi is consistent and delicious - with great service !
So delicious .....excellent service. Proper portions. Love the restaurant!
The food was flavorful with very generous portions (we 2 women took half our dinner home). The atmosphere was both serene and quiet. The wait staff were attentive without being intrusive. I'll definitely be back!
Great place for New Year’s Eve!
All great. Some dishes were too salty. Otherwise tasty
From friendly and humorous waiters to delicious food (and fantastic bottles of Retsina at a very reasonable price!), Kefi is a definite go to for a wonderful evening with family and friends.
I was excited to try kefi in the new location this past weekend, but was unfortunately disappointed in the quality of the food and in the changes in the menu. I really miss the old Keri
The octopus is incredible. The staff is awesome!
party of 8- service was good. everyone liked their dishes... nice variety. great wait staff...
Always a joy.
Great evening! The branding and lamb shank are outstanding. The service was just right. We’ll be back soon!
Excellent food and value. A little noisy but a great UWS gem
What a deterioration! The food was average and not well prepared. The service was miserable. This used to be a great restaurant. No more.
As an infrequent visitor to nyc there only to see a Bob Dylan at the Beacon, we used OpenTable for some nearby locations. Loved the customer reviews and proximity and booked through this site.
Everything was just what we wanted.....quiet space, caring service and quality food.
At our servers recommendations we tried the hummus, the meatballs and bronzino.
Whoever was cooking, knows their stuff.
We enjoyed our evening but the food was not as specialist as ut was in the previous iywrstion
Always good. Always good service. Reliable, reasonable go to place on UWS
great branzino, delicious squash soup and incredible baklevar , great service had a wonderful time great wine
Good food. Good atmosphere, good service. Very enjoyable meal with friends, and we could actually hear each other speak.
Food was great, but our food took forever and we were there for 2 hours.
Great meal with a friend - they were very careful with the menu and serving when I told them I had a food intolerance
Had high expectations going in and was disappointed but could have been an off night.
The restaurant was extremely accommodating. I have diet restrictions and my food was prepared just the way I had requested. My friend whose leg is in a brace requested extra room so they gave us a table for 4. I definitely will go back to the restaurant.
Unfortunately I was disappointed this time. While the main course was okay, the dessert, Bougatsa was really terrible. It was served cold and tasted like it had been around for a few days. The filling was a big hard lump of custard. Expected more from this restaurant. Shame because last time I went (at its old location which was much nicer), it was really good.
Used to like this place a bit more at old location. New location is louder and tighter. Service adequate. Lamb shank and crab cakes were excellent. Calamari just ok. Drink just ok.
Superb service and the food was delicious. Everything came out punctually and wonderfully hot.
Third time visiting Kefi. We love the new location and the food is just as good. Although the portions seem to have increased and that makes enjoying all that Kefi has to offer more difficult! We loved the knowledgeable waitstaff and love people watching there. Try the octopus and the lamb shank although everything is good. I dream about that octopus!
Excellent food, ambiance and service!
had not been to Kefi's since it moved back to its original digs, downstairs at West 79th. Used to ber a bit pricey for Greek food, but good and lively. Not anymore!
Food at Kefi is good, not great. Noise level is high. Why don't you do something to reduce that??
Service is erratic and frequently disappointing as was the case this recent time.
First time here, we shared 4 "Meze" and I loved three of them. Our service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable and quiet enough to talk! Will return.
We had gluten free and vegan diet issues in our party and the waiter was terrific and the food was totally yummy!
Lovely evening would recommend to friend. Love, the food.
Appetizer of hummus, tzatziki, and eggplant was generous and well-prepared, although a bit pricey at $20. For that price, I would have hoped they would provide extra pita at no additional cost. Lambchops and bronzino were both delicious. Tender, cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. Our server was patient, warm, and helpful. Restaurant was full on a Saturday night, but noise level was such that we could have a conversation. All in all, a wonderful meal and I would definitely return.
I find the food at Kefi consistently tasty, fresh, and interesting. They are also willing to modify sides as needed to accommodate special dietary needs, which I really appreciate.
