Set across two levels, the ground floor houses the main dining room while the subterranean level is made up of two enclosed rooms, perfect for private dining and events. Kefi’s spacious bar area serves an extensive Greek wine list, specialty cocktails, ouzo shots and a full menu of meze, appetizers and entrees along with Happy Hour food & drink specials 5pm - close Mon-Fri and 3pm - close Sat & Sun.
I have eaten here before and the service and meal made it a good decision to return. My entree was a hanger steak, perfectly cooked. The Kefi salad was one to order again. Definitely a place to return to.
The "new" Kefi is a fabulous place! Beautiful, cozy, warm...you feel like you've been transported to a quaint little place in Greece. The food was OUTSTANDING...I am still dreaming about the fried artichokes (an appetizer special last Saturday night)...Kefi salad was delicious and big enough to split, organic chicken with lemon and garlic and hangar steak entrees were also just perfect. We had wine by the glass...for $14, it is a generous size, which I really appreciate (can't stand when they pour half an inch!). Dessert was great, as well. We had a wonderful server...wish I knew her name...but all the service people from the water boys to the host were attentive and gracious. For the quality food, beautiful atmosphere, great service and prices, this place is a tremendous value. I can't wait to go back again and again...thank you Kefi!!!!!
Pleasant good food- uneven heat- often cold
Good food, a little cramped. Very noisy. Attentive and friendly staff.
i thought for the value, it was way overpriced. The eggplant appetizer was $15, and ive had way better. Im sorry, i really wanted to like it.
This was the second time I had been there and it did not disappoint. We had my friends 2 children who like us were delighted with their menu choices and were particularly find of our waiter.
Great food. Very inappropriate waiter. Would return.
Very pleasant and efficient service. Nice décor, noise level between quiet and moderate. I selected moderate because the tables adjacent to ours were empty; it might be a bit louder if the restaurant were full. Grilled octopus was fantastic. Melitzanosalata was good, though not the very best I've had. I would definitely dine at Kefi again.
Loved everything about brunch at Kefi. The egg dishes, especially the shakshuka, were excellent, and the ricotta pancakes were amazing. They were covered with flaked halvah that partially melts into the pancake, which adds a different, sweet, nutty flavor -- so good! Service was friendly and warm, which is always appreciated. Will definitely return.
Best Greek of the Upper West Side!
Food excellent! Service really really poor.
We really enjoyed Kefi! The service was excellent. Attentive from start to finish but in no way were they hanging over us or intrusive. The food was also excellent. Crispy artichoke hearts, grilled octopus, shrimp and orzo and salmon over spinach were all flavorful and came out hot (lukewarm food ... big pet peeve of mine). The interior was nice for the price point. Huge and pretty bar that was quite inviting but we opted to sit at a table. Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much and I would certainly recommend Kefi to someone looking for a well run restaurant. Bottom line they met or exceeded expectations at this price point. Nicely done Kefi!
Your menu and food have always remained consistently great! Brought friends there this week who equally impressed! Been there at least 5 times---I'm from San Francisco
Highly recommend the mussels and gigantes starter - it was incredible! Great service and generous portions, you could probably share a starter between two people.
As usual Kefi provided a relaxed environment with excellent fish and good service - a neighborhood treasure!
Excellent meals. Gracious staff.
Really great for lunch with friends.
Really enjoyed the food and the service. We will return and mentioned it to friends.
Of course a neighborhood place...
a bit on the expensive side for everyday dinner
Food quality is very good
Service should be better for those prices
I liked it
First time at Kefi
Food and drinks were outstanding
Hope to return
We were there for lunch and were enormously impressed! Bravo!
My family dined at Kefi for a birthday this week and had a terrific experience. We had been regular visitors of the restaurant at its old location on Columbus Ave., but hadn't tried the new location. The food was just as good as (if not better than) we remembered. We particularly enjoyed the meatball appetizer and the branzino (some of us had the entree and others the whole fish). The service was also excellent-- they were friendly and attentive, but did not rush us. I'd read reviews that the restaurant was loud. It's not a quiet restaurant, but we were able to hear each other fine across the table. In sum, I'd highly recommend Kefi!
Uninspiring. What happened to you Kefi? You used to be a destination. Now, uninspiring.
Had a great birthday dinner for my bf here. Loved that they offered to seat us right away even though our whole party hasn’t arrived yet. Delicious food, good wine, nice ambience, could comfortably have a conversation. Thanks Kefi!
Unusually good. My guests were very satisfied
Incredible food! Everything is tasty and the service is very friendly and attentive.
Can't wait to go back for another meal. Highly recommend
Service was slow (presumably the issue in the kitchen rather than with the servers) but very pleasant and willing.
Food was excellent!
Had lunch at this restaurant recently and the food, service, decor and ambiance was outstanding.
Kefi is a medium size place which is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner, would highly recommend Kefi.
Great food, great service, a little pricey. I have and will continue to come back and recommend others eat at Kefi!!
This was my second visit to this restaurant. Food and service are outstanding! I look forward to returning in the future.
still excellent but it seems to be more expensive than I remember. great greek food in a cool convenient location
The food was amazing back on amsterdam the old location but now options are limited w appetizers and not your traditional Greek place. Wasn’t happy w food but service was top notch!
Kefi is a wonderful -- one of my go-tos in the neighborhood. The food is delicious (I'm a particular fan of the meatballs that don't have sauce, the tomato and feta salad, and the yogurt desert). The service is delightful -- helpful, quick and unobtrusive. I usually get there for an early dinner (around 6:30pm) when the restaurant is less crowded and quieter. Everyone I've taken there loves the place as much as I do.
As always - true Greek food prepared and served by an excellent staff
Well, to be honest, I enjoyed my meal while eating it and they have a nice menu. However within about 10 minutes of arriving home I had terrible discomfort and needed to use the bathroom pretty urgently. I never like it when I am so sick that I feel I need to run to the toilet. That is, unfortunately, how I felt after eating at Kefi this week. Too bad - I actually like the place. Now, not so sure....
Yes, the food was delicious and the service was nice as well.
Jammed packed restaurant...preferred previous Columbus Ave location which had a different vibe that this location.
Food good, apps arrive very quickly, entree takes 30-40 mins...
Still a decent restaurant, but their old space was much nicer.
Intimate space with ample room in the dining room as well as at the bar. Delicious appetizers as meze dining is easy to do with tasty spreads, salads, and lighter fare.
