Keating's Rope & Anchor Bar + Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Keating's Rope & Anchor Bar and Kitchen Restaurant is located in the Hilton Hotel along the Penn's Landing Waterfront. There is something for everyone on the menu - small plates, salads, sandwiches, and vegetarian options. The portions are reasonable and the pricing is comparable to any restaurant located within a hotel. I truly enjoyed my French onion soup and the salmon BLT sandwich. The service was very good, the food and drinks arrived at a leisurely pace. There were seven people in my lunch group. All of the servers were very gracious handing our numerous requests. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) dining. In the summer, an outdoor meal and viewing the activities along Penn's Landing is delightful. Even sitting inside during the winter and admiring the view of the river is an added benefit to a delicious meal hosted by very professional and friendly employees. If you are in the Penn's Landing neighborhood, and looking for a place for lunch, or just a few drinks, I would very highly recommend Keating's Rope & Anchor Bar and Kitchen Restaurant.
This was a family dinner for my step daughter’s college graduation. The location was very convenient and there was a nice view. We enjoyed the apps, goat cheese fritters and fried calamari. Service was very good and the staff was nice. The dinner entrees weren’t anything special and the one with the spicy shrimp tacos was very heavily fried. Not sure that we would choose to dine here again.
Meet friends for drinks and dinner on a Friday night. Bar had a good guitar player that entertained us while at the bar. Dinner was very good had a nice round table for the 6 of us to easily converse. service was very good, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. we will be back.
Was unimpressed, and disappointed. The only thing that was decent was the chowder.- and even that was just above luke-warm when it came out. The scallops and shrimp was supposed to come with risotto, it came with what I can only assume was microwaved rice, and then they covered the whole thing in sprinkled parsley. Shrimp had an okay flavor. Overall it had no flavor profile at all. Was just stuff on a plate, covered in parsley.
Based on this experience i would not recommend for dining. The atmosphere was nice, so if you went to sit at the bar, you’re fine, but definitely would not recommend eating a main course there.
Service was okay. Was not busy but felt like a bother to the waiter. The hostess was nice and pleasant, and greeted me promptly.
Overall 2/5 from me.
Great place for a business meeting because the tables aren't on top of each other like at most center city restaurants and you can't beat the view. Has convenient parking and very accessible via cab, so easy place to meet. Menu has a good variety, offers interesting healthier choices and is reasonably priced. Most importantly, staff are always very accommodating with menu modifications to meet dietary needs-- you would think that would be a given in this day and age, but unfortunately have not always found this to be the case in many places.
We had to make a reservation which was timed to complete. Upon arrival and the meal there were very few people there. All food was good but really too expensive for what was made for lunch.I was asked if it was a special occasion and I listed my sister's birthday, which it was for , but nothing was done so why even ask?
We do appreciate the discount for parking.
Went here for a date night with my husband. I ordered the fillet my husband had the chicken and shrimp My meal was absolutely delicious my husband felt his meal was average Other people were ordering the knife and fork burger and that looked really good Nice waterfront location fun to walk to Spruce Street Harbor Park after eating dinner Decent pricing Live music on a Saturday night
Great location, especially outside on the patio. Good service. Stuff mushrooms were very good. The Butcher's Flatbread was average, not what I had hoped. The live music outside was good but the PA volume was too loud and made it difficult to have conversation when he was playing. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening and a good experience.
Might return but having to pay for parking was not appealing.
Nice to look out over the water but my two friends and I were not enamored
with the food. Would not go back for food and for the parking charge.
Hostess was very helpful in giving us a reduced ticket for parking.
Very pleased with Keatings lunch menu. Service was excellent! Our waiter, Hassan, was probably the most pleasant server I have ever had (we dine out several times a week). Only thing they can improve on is allowing diners to use the restroom without a security guard asking a waitress to vouch that we were diners. VERY ODD!
Stopped for a quick bite to eat before seeing a concert in Camden. Food was outstanding even though we only got several appetizers. Service from Hasan (spelling ?) was awesome! Not too abrasive, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable. He even went above and beyond to bring a small water pitcher out to the table for us considering it was about 95 degrees outside.. Can't wait to go back and hopefully try some of their amazing entrees they offer and to be taken care of by Hasan. (Again spelling) Highly recommend!!
I ordered the grilled chicken and shrimp with quinoa entrée. The chicken was so overdone it was inedible, I could not even cut into it with a knife. The quinoa tasted like it was boiled in dirty water. When I told a worker (who was dressed like a manager, although I'm not sure he was one) they did not even take my plate away, just left the gross chicken and came back with a new piece. Still did not take the chicken away. I am not one to complain so I did not speak up any further, but I wish I did because the price I paid was way too expensive for the quality of food. The only good thing about my experience was the view and my server Meegan was very nice. I am very upset about the price I paid for the inedible food that I received.
Met friends for breakfast. The dining room was freezing. The room was over-lit and noisy.
Not very crowded, but shown to a table next to the waiters station....
Asked for a window seat- and was shown to a suitable table.
Service was fine, but they were short staffed-
I wouldn't recommend nor would I go back.
Food was excellent. Service was slow, especially on the patio. We had reservations for dinner before a concert. We arrived 30 minutes before our dinner reservations so we decided to have a drink on the patio while we waited for the rest of our party. There was only one other table occupied on the patio but it still took our server 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. Our dinner, especially the appetizers, was excellent, but again, even though the restaurant was fairly empty, it took 15 minutes to be acknowledged by our server. We didn't get one of the appetizers we ordered, hot wings, until just before our entrees were delivered. I think they need more wait staff, especially during the summer months, since this hotel/restaurant is right on the waterfront, very popular area.
I was regrettably underwhelmed by Keating's Rope & Anchor. Our initial impression walking into the restaurant and onto the patio was positive. The host was lovely and we were quickly met by a server...good so far.
We all ordered drinks and then proceeded to wait 15 minutes before our server came back to let us know we were being switched to a new server. After another five minutes our drinks were brought out. The Sangria tasted like it came from a box and my Vodka Gimlet (the waitress called it a Grimlet) was mostly Roses lime juice and perhaps some vodka?!? After a few attempts I got her attention and asked to change my drink as the one I had was not to my taste. It was then I learned the bartender didn't know what a Gimlet was...perhaps the name was confusing.
We ordered dinner...two orders of grilled shrimp tacos with salad and a salad with ahi tuna. In less than ten minutes my dinner arrived (salad and tuna), but my friends only got two plates of grilled shrimp. We explained there must have been a mistake and that they had ordered shrimp tacos with salad. Five minutes and their tacos are rushed out...deep fried shrimp tacos with french fries. We reiterated there was a mistake, the server did not offer to exchange the food, but rather shrugged an apology.
They comp'd my drink, but did not offer any compensation for the mistaken food order. One more note, a band went on half way through dinner. The music was really loud...too loud to hear much of any conversation.
My mom and I came for lunch before an event at the Mann Center. We had cheesesteak eggrolls for an appetizer, which were amazing. We also had the signature peach bellini. It was delicious! Our meals were wonderful and our server Mark was very helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back!
We had high hopes when the host moved an umbrella to our table that was directly in the sun. However, our server was way too busy with too many tables to handle. He was uninformed about several of the items on the menu and disappeared for long lengths of time. The management and his staff were delivering the meals and cleaning up the tables and bringing the bills. But sitting outside and looking at the Delaware made up for the lack of attention. Oh, and the food was good!
We didn't realize this, but it's in a hotel. It was fine, we just weren't expecting it. The service was a little sparse--our waitress was nice but didn't come back to make sure we had enough water or wanted to order more drinks. They also put wayyyyy too much garlic on my flatbread.
