Delicious as usual!
I really like the crunchy scallop maki rolls and the first tuna maki roll on the menu— delicious!!
I took some Chicago friends here on a Friday night. The place was busy but we had a reservation and they gave us a table right away. We shared the shishito peppers and beef dumpling then ordered some mains and some sushi rolls. Everyone loved their food. Our waiter was perfect - not too many questions but there when we needed him. Water glasses were kept full, wine was good (got one bottle). Couldn't leave without sharing one dessert which was also a hit. When you are entertaining friends you are so relieved that the meal is perfect.
We visited KaZe for restaurant week and got to try some of the options they have on the regular menu for a good deal! We enjoyed the sushi so much we ordered an extra roll to go. Portion sizes made the costs worth it, would definitely come back.
The waiter was outstanding. Very attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding. Best I’ve had in a while. My only complaint is the neighborhood. As we were standing on the sidewalk right outside the front door of the restaurant, waiting on the valet to bring our car, there was a fight right in front of us. The 3 women appeared to be under the influence of something. They were also very dirty. We also had 2 different men ask us for money as we were standing there. This has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. Just want people to know what kind of neighborhood it is.
An overall outstanding experience! The food was wonderful and the service was amazing. Great options, especially given my friend and I are both gluten free. Price point corresponds with the quality of the experience. We came on a Saturday, and I was very glad we thought to make a reservation!
We're pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but the miso soup and fried rice were very untraditional and we did not care for it. The edamame was freezing cold and tough to eat. The sushi is delicious and that is why we would recommend it. This is not a kid-friendly restaurant. No special menu for them and they did not care for the creative twists on traditional fare.
We had a good experience at Kaze. However the gift certificate we used from open table was not so good. The balance of nine dollars on a forty dollar tab was for the tip. However they would not take the balance for the tip. In my way of thinking this should have been made more clear up front. The waiters were good and deserved a tip so not carrying cash I had to put the tip on another credit card and this left me with a nine dollar balance I may never use. I don't think I will buy an open table gift card unless this is resolved. I but lots of gift cards as gifts. Staff, friends, children, grand kids and many more. Your policy has lost lots of consideration going forward.
They messed up our order twice and took forever to bring it out.
One of our favorite restaurants. Food is consistently good and very pleasant atmosphere.
Always great to see friendly people amazing service
We originally were going to go there for Cincinnati Burger Week, but ended up choosing food that Kaze had. I had the braised flank steak and my boyfriend had sushi. We loved it! Mine was so delicious, and all the different ingredients fit perfectly, and he said his was some of the best sushi he ever had! Can’t wait to go back.
Always a good night here and food is consistent. Love the salmon here and it was burger week so we also shared the 2 burgers that they had on the menu which was also very good. Kaze never disappoints.
First time at Kaze. Was a little put off by the reviews, but sushi options being limited, went anyway. Glad we did! Server was excellent and the food was great, if maybe a little...bland? The Mount Fuji could have used more spice, given the name. OTR was ok, but the addition of the wasabi and the ginger made it perfect. We'll definitely be back.
Food was VERY good. Hostess and bartenders outstanding but our server was poor at best. Waited 20 minutes for our cocktails and refill was even worse
Great place for sushi and inexpensive wine. Relaxed atmosphere makes for a good time
There were two time slots left when making reservations, 10:30 and 10:45. We made 10:30. Walked in and the first thing said to us was “last call in 10 minutes. We sat at table and the server came over and said “made it in under the wire, last call in 5”. I asked “for drinks, or food”. She said “everything”. Now, I find this curious. How can they have last call at 10:45 and they still had a reservation listed at 10:45? This isn’t the first time this has happened to us either. If you have a reservation, honor it. Don’t close down. It made the whole experience feel rushed. I’d hate to be a party that reserved the 10:45 only to find out they couldn’t get food or drinks when they showed up. Both the server and the hostess didn’t know how to answer my question when I asked them to explain last call when open table still had an open reserve at 10:45. PLEASE, don’t kid yourselves. There are better places to eat less than a stones throw away from your establishment.
Food is excellent.
I went in looking for sushi because when I googled and ask others for recommendations they said go to Kaze. Without looking at the menu - I asked the waiter what he would have and he said the meatloaf. Wait what? So I said I want sushi and so I asked for the next choice and he said the tacos.
This place is in transition- careful what you are looking for. Weird thing is that they have chopsticks at each table setting. And the sushi was ok. Small rolls for the price
Came to Kaze for a week-night dinner with some girlfriends. To our surprise, happy hour went until 7 pm!! Speciality cocktails were $5, wine was $4 and several food and sushi specials for CHEAP!!! This is going to become my go-to happy hour!
Love Kaze. Love their trivia night and overall aura.
The wait staff was extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable.
Food and service was great. We went for a birthday and our server was excellent.
Forgot glass of wine and salad. Service was erratic. Server s did not describe food as it was set on table.
We totally enjoyed the food, the drinks, ad the service at Kaze. It is my favorite restaurant in Downtown/OTR. The menu is very interesting, and the dishes were prepared and presented with flair.
Good food and service!
Food was great with an interesting take on Japanese cuisine. Waiter was a little timid when we asked for a recommendation between two of their signature cocktails. Unfortunately appetizer and entrees showed up too close together. Otherwise, it was great.
We enjoyed the food, the design, and the awesome service at Kaze. I'm sure we'll be back!
I saw reviews everywhere and everybody was saying good things about Kaze. I decided to take my wife for a special dinner occasion and both of us were surprised with quality, service and ambient. I strongly recommend Kaze. Very good experience.
My wife and I went here for our one year anniversary and we loved every minute of it
Whole experience was superb !!!!
Taylor our server was amazing. She helped us pick out things we would like. The food was great. Very knowledgeable and didn't make fun of us when we asked stupid questions. Made for a very special birthday for my wife. Service was stellar and we will definitely be back. Did I mention Taylor was amazing? Because she was.
They never disappoint. The specials were fantastic and we loved the Latin flair!
Ramen soup was great. The Dragon Roll and French Toast w/ Ice Cream were good but nothing I would crave. I will return sometime for the Ramen though!
Valet parking is great. Pay 6 buck in an unsecured lot or pay 10 for curbside service. No brainer . . .
Good quality food. Sushi rolls not overly dressed with sauces. Nice selection of Asian food.
The food was delicious however the service was just okay. The hostess and the few servers that we did see seem to be very bored and not good at communicating the menu or just communicating in general. Was very disappointed because the food was so good.
Very nice menu
Entire staff couldn’t have been nicer, great recommendations and very pleasant. Good was better than advertised.
Amazing food. Order the Seafood Ramen and the Mt. Fuji sushi roll.
Great Sushi! Great atmosphere on the patio on a beautiful night. Great happy hour prices. We will be back again.
