Took my friend to Kaz Bistro to celebrate her birthday. Since everything looks good on the menu, we ordered the tasting menu just to explore the best as what the menu discribed. The first six courses ( small bite) were actually very creative and taste good, however the main course (sushi) was so so. The service was attentive. Next time we shall try out the ala carte menu.

I sat at the Sushi Bar with my two friends and we did the Omikaze tasting. It was absolutely incredible and watching the four chefs prepare everything for the restaurant was a real treat! Absolutely to-notch all the way around!

I took my sister here for her birthday and it was amazing! We got the Kaz Tasting Menu which was delicious and a delight-- I recommend it to everyone. Our server Haris was the nicest person I've ever met. I told him it was my sister's birthday and he brought our dessert out with a candle in it. He also explained what each dish was made out of. My sister and I weren't fans of sea food before we went here but we'll definitely be back. 5/5 because it was one of the best restaurants I've been to!

Very good. Really nice flavor combinations. The special tuna sushis were all unique and flavorful. The shiitake nigiri was so good we place a second order. Highly recommend

The amazement starts with the hand towel! I don't want to spoil it but when your server greets you the magic starts there! The menu is just right, not over the top with crazy rolls and names, just simple, very Japanese offerings. The salmon MELTED in my mouth I couldn't believer fresh it was perfect color and temperature . I was impressed with the Tuna and kalamata. The olive added just the right amount of flavor to give the perfect tuna a boost. The Octopus was incredible, perfect texture, not rubber like, extremely tender. I was fortunate to have Matcha served at my table. I was told that it was the highest quality from Kyoto, Japan! It was a must have for me and the special part was the Domyoji Mochi. A Japanese sweet made with this sweet pink colored rice cake, red bean paste center and wrapped in a pickled cherry blossom. The whole experience was incredible! Great for a romantic meal or if you just want to get away with some incredible cuts of fish.

What an amazing restaurant! The sushi was just incredible, my friend and I shared a few small plates including the Brussel sprouts, sea bass Napoleon and the short rib. All were amazing. Then we shared many of the special sushi varieties. I especially enjoyed the blue crab. Everything was delectable and I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Kaz is consistently excellent in quality and service. We have eaten at Kaz many times, for last 7 years, and have never been disappointed, either at lunch or at dinner. Always superb, BRAVO FOR SUCH A GREAT TEAM!!! 2018-04-11 Calamari was the best ever - succulent - right spice - perfect depth - fabulous finish - elegant presentation - not sure what else to say other than it was fantastic! Thank you everyone at Kaz - the experience was superb as always!

It was nice. Great that one person can have the tasting menu even when the other chooses something else. Anniversary Tasting Menu was fabulous. Also liked that it was 6 courses rather than 8. They should add that as an option more permanently.

Though the food was pretty good, it was a struggle to get it. Lots of waiting involved. I enjoyed a sake flight, but then wanted a carafe to go with my sushi, but waited until I was almost done to get it.

Great potential.

Incredible sushi restaurant. Has nice rolls, nigiris, and other kinds of Japanese cuisine. My wife was amazed with the dessert. Staffs are all gentle. The price was not as expensive as I had expected. I've visited many sushi restaurants around the U.S. and this one comes on top.

The appetizers were all amazing. One of us had the cauliflower which had a delicious sauce. Another had the Brussel sprouts which were cooked perfectly. I had the warm spinach salad which was great as always. We also split the hamachi crudo, but I'm not sure I'd get that again. Small portion and not my favorite sauce.
The rolls were all great. I think the eel with pickled jalapeño was the best. The seared salmon belly nigiri was amazing. I was disappointed by the Uni, which had a weird taste to it (I've tried sea urchin at many places, including this place, before - this was not normal). The waitress kindly removed it from the menu when we told her.
They also have carafes of wine that are a good amount.
Loved our table. Service was excellent. I will definitely continue to go to this place for my sushi fix!

Kaz Sushi Bistro is now of "go-to" Sushi Spot in DC. We loved the sea bass napoleon and the cabbage pancake. We followed that down with more traditional nigiri and rolls. They had great choices on their Sake list. We will be back!

This is our regular sushi spot, which we find better than Sushi Taro based on fish quality and sushi dishes. That in no way means that Taro is bad. In fact, it’s excellent as well and aesthetically more pleasing.

We try to get to Kaz' as often as possible and the food never fails to satisfy. Kaz' is not the largest place for sure, but I believe that adds to the ambiance. We love the way Kaz takes very foundational sushi choices and has turned them into taste treats...tuna with truffle, scallops with lemon and salt. The best part is seeing what special fish Kaz has on hand each visit. In almost every place you go, you will find yellowtail...but Kaz had yellowtail belly and it was fantastic. The sake list has expanded since our last visit and that is very welcome. In my opinion, there are very few places I have ever been that compete with the fish that Kaz puts out there. It is creative, artistic and fun. Definitely our DC favorite
